This is probably the easiest of recipes, and turkey legs are very inexpensive. It makes a quick, easy and delicious meal with no fuss.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 Turkey Legs (frozen works)
  • 1-2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2-3 Cloves of Garlic
  • 3-4 Sweet Potatoes

Directions

  1. Step One

    Add turkey legs and cover with olive oil.

  2. Step Two

    Add salt and pepper to taste and cloves of garlic.

  3. Step Three

    Wash and cut sweet potatoes and cut in half or leave whole (however they will fit in around the turkey legs).

  4. Step Four

    Cook on LOW for 8 hours or HIGH for 4-5 hours.

    I’ve used regular potatoes instead of sweet potatoes. @Kim G…..did you use a whole turkey or just the legs. I wouldn’t do this with a whole turkey. @Heather – love that idea!

    Try adding half a cup of stock and half a cup of apple juice, then put it on high uncovered for a little bit before eating. This gives it some more flavor and a nice sauce. If you really want to go crazy add some onion.

    This was easy prep, but my family gave me a thumbs down. I placed turkey in crock frozen, this usually doesn’t effect the recipe but maybe it matters here. Or maybe I didn’t season it enough.
