The best savory pot roast recipe!

Ingredients

  • 4 Pounds Chuck Roast (any beef roast will do)
  • 1 Package Savory pot roast seasoning
  • 1 Can Coke
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Package Au Jus gravy mix

Directions

  1. Step One

Mix the pot roast seasoning with the cup of water in slow cooker.

  2. Step Two

Place roast in mixture, then pour coke over top ( I have used diet soda and it didn't change the taste at all )

  3. Step Three

Cover with lid and cook on LOW for 8hrs. DO NOT LIFT THE LID!

  4. Step Four

After it's done cooking take the lid off (depending how lean your roast was at this point I skim the fat off) and sprinkle the AuJus packet over the top of roast and replace lid for about 5 mins. Take roast out of slow cooker then just slice, serve, and enjoy. :)

It should be fine if you open the lid once just as long as you don’t keep it open to long. Sorry if I replied to late.

Can’t wait it is in the crock pot now! I was afraid to put my carrots and potatoes in but I thought I might at like noon… Do you think that would be ok, sine you said not to open the lid?

Julie I’m glad you enjoyed it, I’ve been trying to make the perfect roast for my taste buds for years and this was it for me :)

You could add whatever veggies you like there is plenty of liquid to cook it though I would think it would change the flavor a bit. I’ve never tried it but carrots at potatoes are delicious in almost every other roast so it might be delicious in this one too :)
