Split Pea Soup – A great recipe for Split Pea Soup
- 1 Package Split Peas, rinsed
- 1 Leek, finely chopped (only white/yellow)
- 3 Stalks of Celery, chopped
- 3 Carrots, chopped
- 3-4 Sprigs Each of Thyme and Parsley
- 1 Smoked Turkey Leg
- 3.5 Cups Chicken Broth
- 3.5 Tablespoons Water
Place thyme and parsley in bottom of slow cooker, then peas, leek, celery, carrots on top.
Pour liquid in, then put in turkey leg.
Cook on low for 7 hours.
Take out leg, take out bones and skin, then shred and put back in soup.
Cook for 1 more hour, and serve.
