Sour Cream Salsa Chicken – A tasty recipe for the slow cooker.

Ingredients

  • 4 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 Package 40% reduced sodium taco seasoning mix
  • 1 Cup Salsa
  • 2 Tablespoons Cornstarch
  • 1/4 Cup Reduced fat sour cream

Directions

  1. Step One

    Spray slow cooker with cooking spray, add chicken breast.

  2. Step Two

    Sprinkle with taco seasoning and top with salsa.

  3. Step Three

    Cook on low for 6 hours.

  4. Step Four

    Remove chicken from pot.

  5. Step Five

    Dissolve cornstarch in 2 tbsp water and stir into sauce in slow cooker.

  6. Step Six

    Stir in sour cream and mix well.

    Justine, we think low and slow is best! Maybe you can plug your crock into a timer (like the ones you use with Christmas lights) and then plug it into the wall. Set that timer for 6 hours, so it turns off your slow cooker when the time’s up.

    My crock has 4 settings, High for 4 or 6 hours and Low for 8 or 10 hours. Which setting would I use for recipes like this one?

    Put the chicken back in. You can also shred it and serve it as taco or burrito meat.
