Slow Cooked Pizza
My family loves this!
Pizza Pasta Casserole
One of my 6 yr old's favorites.
As the “Crockin’ Girls” we like to try out things that are not typically tried in the slow cooker. Yes, you can easily do these things in the oven, but we love the freedom slow cooking allows us to have with our kiddos and it doesn’t get as hot as the oven or stove top so our little crockers can join in on the fun! When trying pizza the first time, we were sure it would be a flop, but it turned out fantastic!
Used 6-quart slow cooker
Ingredients
- 1 Can refrigerated pizza dough
- 1-2 Cups pizza sauce
- 1-2 Cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- We like to use Canadian bacon, onion, bell pepper, pineapple... whatever the kiddos choose :)
Directions
-
Step One
Spray your slow cooker with cooking spray. Unroll the crust dough and place on the bottom of the slow cooker and let it come up on the sides about an inch.
-
Step Two
Add the desired amount of pizza sauce on top of the dough and add the rest of the toppings you choose.
-
Step Three
Cook on high for about 2 1/2 hours (the sides of the pizza will pull away from the slow cooker and begin turning brown) then uncover and let cool for about 20-30 minutes.
-
Step Four
The pizza should be able to be lifted from the slow cooker using two spatulas, and you will have a Crockin’ Pizza... Slice, serve, and ENJOY!

lauren

Linda

Tara
Love it! I can’t wait to try both recipies out. I am also super excited for your healthy eating segments to come out, Hubby and I are working on losing weight and being able to prepare a healthy meal in the crockpot would really benefit our efforts.
Crockin Girls
Great to hear how y’all tweaked this recipe and made it your own!! Y’all cROCK! ;)
And thanks for the sweet message Sara! They’re a handful and a JOY all-in-1 ;)
Rochelle
I have not tried this as of yet, but they both look great. My conventional oven does not cook true to temp, so I am always having trouble cooking pizzas, homemade or frozen. This is the perfect alternative, and without heating up my trailer!! I can even do this on my patio. We live by solar power and have lots of extra energy during the day!! It’s win, win!!!
Sara
I found your recipes very creative and so out of the box thinking! Wonderful. The best part of the video, however, wasn’t the cooking demonstration, it was the parenting demonstration. You made me smile in awe over how well you both interacted w/your kids. I’ve raised 2 of my own and really did try to be a compassionate teacher at all times, but compared to you two ~ I don’t even come close. Pat each other on the back, ’cause you both deserve it! Thank you.
Susan
The pizza looks like it would be so yummy and what an amazing dessert. I can’t wait to try both recipes.
Nicole
Love Love the pizza idea! I am currently on weight watchers so I will be making a healthier version and I am very exvcited for the clean magazine!!!! You two are so innovative!
Kathy
Can’t wait to try this Pizza recipe. Bread looks awesome too. Your kids are adorable!
Thanks for the great recipes.
YourHighness
Made a very simple version topping the dough with only sauce, turkey sausage and mozarella to try out my new Crock. I did keep an eye on it and noticed the pizza was done in less than 2 hours. It turned out VERY yummy!
Tatum
Can’t wait to try this pizza!
Keli
Can’t wait to try the cake! Pizza with a homemade crust looks great too….especially in the summer.
Bonnie E.
Delicious!!!!
Janet
Will be making this tonight for my family!!
Crockin Girls
Thanks for all your feedback! We’re glad you stumbled across us, too!!!
Kolohegirl
Made this today with the help of my 9 yr old and 3 yr old boys. I used homemade dough from scratch as well as homemade sauce. We used onions and mushrooms which were sautéed while the dough was being made. We also had black olives and pepperoni. We also used two types of cheese (cheddar and 4 cheese blend) since we didn’t have a full bag of either. After 2 hrs or so it became a nice deep dish pizza. Lifted the lid and let it cool. It was tricky getting it out without it splitting in half, but I managed. I would so do this again, ESP in the summer heat!!! Thanks girls! I’m so glad I found your site last night when I was looking for a corn chowder recipe (which I also made last night yum!)
Crockin Girls
Haven’t tried to double the dough before, Charmae. Not sure if it would cook through. If you try it and it works, let us know!
Thanks Tonia for the sweet compliment to our kiddos :)
Charmae
Can’t wait to try this recipe! There are 4 little ones here that would eat that up before mom and dad get a bite. 2,3,6,and 7 year olds that love pizza! Do you think its possible to double layer it and make it super deep baked pizza?????
I slow cook a lot because we are always busy here!!! I have been taking a lot of my traditional recipes and turning them into slow cooked. Your recipes are great! Thank You for all of the new ideas!
Jackie S.
I just love the pizza recipe and the fruit/banana bread idea as well. We will be trying both ! Thank you very much for the great recipes.

I can’t wait to try both of these! I’m so excited seeing all these recipes I never would’ve thought to try in the crockpot. I’m fairly new to crockin’ and so far I love every bit of it, its so comforting knowing I can just throw something in there and go on with my day. I am currently taking care of my mom full time plus Im a full-time college student so, like y’all always say its really nice to have the crock pot when you’re pressed for time in the day. Your kids are so cute!
Crockin Girls
It can get a little CRAY-CRAY in the kitchen crockin’ with the kiddos sometimes, but it’s so fun! We love our big-ol’ family of crockers out there! Thanks for crockin’ with us too, y’all!!
Stephanie
Sounds so super easy! The kids are off school today…looks like it will make a perfect lunch!

Melody G.

Tonya
I will have to try this. I have not done desserts in my slow cooker either so I will have to try that.
Ruth
Tried the pizza tonight and I was pleasantly surprised – just wasn’t sure how it would turn out. I sauteed onions and mushrooms along with precooked turkey sausage crumbles to put on top, then used mozzarella cheese. It was really good – my husband thought so too. I’ve crocked every night this week – loving it!
Meag83
I can’t wait to try this. We love pizza.
EAS
Just made it or dinner. I enjoyed the pizza very much, can’t wait to play with different things, such as carmalized onions.
Jeannie
Very good! My family loved this recipe.
Kim
I shared this recipe link on my FB page, 2 people plus myself want to make this. Today one person made this and took pics and it looks soo yummy. I can’t wait to make this which will be this coming week, payday. :)
my friend used: Tomato, onion, green Spanish olives, he said once it’s done he will sprinkle oregano and grated Parmesan on the pizza.
Thanks for all the great recipes.
Brenda
It has been a long time since I have seen some good and new ideas for the crock pot. Way to go girls!
Crockin Girls
Sherri! As small as Early is, it’s still so big! We’re constantly hearing from people in our area…thanks for your crockin’ support, and we’re glad you found us! Happy Crockin’, girl!
Crockin Girls
Holly, what a great thought! All you can do is try it, girl! Let us know what you come up with and post it on here or on our FB wall! Happy Crockin’, girl!
Sherri
I was so happy to find you a few weeks ago. I saw the article in the Ft. Worth Star-Telegram and was initially interested because you’re from Early. I was born and raised there, went to K-12 at Early ISD. But then I started following you on FB and have become hooked. I will be trying the pizza soon. Hometown girls rock!!!
Kristen
Can’t wait to try the crockin’ pizza and the accidental nut bread! You mama’s rock!
Jen
Thanks for including your kids, that was fun to watch. :) Don’t blink! …before you know they’ll be heading off to college.
Holly
We make homemade pizza about once a week but I make my dough in the breadmaker…will it cook any differently than a store bought dough??? When watching the video it looked like the amount of dough that I make was comparable to that in the can that was used. Thanks for the idea…pizza is sort of a weekly family tradition in our house and this would be super awesome to try and use!
P.S. My two girls came in while I was watching the video…they thought the kid assistants were great!
margaret
Loved the recipes, will have to try the cake.
Crockin Girls
Don’t use anything smaller than a 6qt for the pizza. Be sure to watch the video…I think we talk about crock size! Happy Crockin’, girl!
Teri
What sizable crockpots are you using? They look really big. Thank you
Crockin Girls
Sorry about that, Allison. I hate it when a recipe burns or doesn’t turn out like I wanted. It sounds like your cooker runs really hot. I would try cooking it on low. You may only need to increase an hour. I would definitely check it after the 2.5 to see how it is doing. Good luck next time.
Allison R.
It burned quite a bit around the edges and we had to cut off most of the crust. I do have a newer crockpot, but I wouldn’t of been able to cut down the cooking time I don’t think because the middle was still doughy. Should I turn it down to low and cook longer or what do you suggest??
Crockin Girls
That is fun. Hope it all turns out deliciously.
We do love working with our kiddos.
Jennifer
Had a friend mention she was trying this today. I am anxiously awaiting her results so I can try it out too. Fun thing is she lives in a different time zone so I might even get to try it out today! Thank you for working with your kiddos – that is awesome!
tiffany
My 6 year old and I just watched and we are super excited to try these recipes!!
Crockin Girls
Sounds like you are going to be busy busy, Lori. Better get to crockin’!…:)
Lori
Love your videos. I am needing lots of food in the next two weeks with college kids coming and going!
Vicki B.
Love the idea of pizza in the crockpot! No need to heat up the kitchen in the summer!
Thanks!!!
Crockin Girls
Yay, Monica! Thanks for sharing and cRock on, girl!
Monica K.
I made the accidental banana nut bread this morning. It was so delicious. We ate this as a breakfast bread. I sprinkled powdered sugar on top, and added some fresh whipped cream. My husband loved it. He requested that I make this every morning for him. Awesome girls, keep up the good work! P.S.The kids are absolutely adorable.
becky S.
trying this as Easter dessert. Mixed cake batter and pudding ahead, covered and in frig overnight to save time. add fruits when
ready to crock it. Will let you know how it turns out. Will use fresh banana, strawberries, and froz peaches. Dropped 16 oz of sour cream in garage when unloading huge amount of groceries today–didnt see it. So i threw it out. Will not have the sour cream in it. Love the idea of crocking —- I am a stayathome grandma babysitting 2 grandkids fulltime. Dont have time to COOK! Crocking may help!
deb d.
I tried the “accidental” cake..I used two of the Jiffy yellow cake mix boxes..you don’t have to add oil to it is the upswing..just the eggs and I used a mixed can of fruit that i had on hand-fresh is better but its what i had at the time. Mine got well done on the bottom too..my smaller crock tends to run “higher than high” so I put it on medium high and maybe that was the problem-it did turn out good but some parts of the inside were “mushy”..done but “mushy” so I think I might give it another try some time and use my other newer crock i just bought and fresh fruit..the flavor was excellent tho! :)
Crockin Girls
You are so right, Elaine!
Elaine W.
I love how the kids are in the kitchen helping! In our busy day to day lives sometimes we all forget how simple it is to include the kiddos and what a huge impact it can make on them! Thanks for the recipes! Keep on Crockin’!

Hey girls! I tried the “accidental” banana bread tonight with blueberries. The bottom right corner burned, so I’m thinking maybe my CP doesn’t heat evenly. We’ll just cut that part off. The rest is good. I’ll tag photos to your facebook so you can see. xoxo
Jamie W.
Looks good can not wait to try!
lisa w.
Made both of these last night, they were both very YUMMY !!
Jennifer Y.
the pizza was a HUGE hit at my house! My kids loved it! I made it plain on one side for the kids, & “supreme” style for my hubby & I. We are a family of 5 and there was only a tiny piece left. I did have to adjust the temperature after an hour & turn it down to prevent burning. Can’t wait to make this again! Affordable, easy & delicious. A winner to me!
Crockin Girls
