I used the frozen chicken and cooked for 6 1/2 hours. At the 30min mark it looked more soupy than what I wanted but I figured it was soupy because I used frozen chicken. I threw in a little flour and put the lid back on for the last 20mins to thicken it up. After it thickened up it looked just as great as it tasted! I’m cooking for one so I had a serving on a tortilla and am going to save the rest to eat throughout the weekend.
This was an especially easy recipe since I had all of the ingredients on hand anyways. I used regular taco seasoning and then put a little cheddar cheese on my tortilla with it.

Heather, if you use frozen chicken then it may take a longer than 6 hours. Since the directions are HIGH for 4.5 hours then LOW would be about 6.5 hours…depending on how hot your crock cooks. If your chicken is frozen then you will need to add up to 2 additional hours. Let me know if you have any other questions, girl!

If I use frozen chicken just put it on low for 6hours?
Crockin Girls
Sure, Jackie! And, you can crock it on LOW for 7-8 hours!

Move over beef tacos! These “Slow Cooked Chicken” tacos are AWESOME!! So simple to throw together and I love that the recipe requires so few ingredients. We used soft tortillas and topped it off with lettuce, Mexican blend cheese, and sour cream; served up with a side of black beans and rice! YUM! My husband loved it as did our 9 yr old and 2 yr old. This recipe is now a family favorite. I’m not sure if I’ll ever make beef tacos again! Thank you Crockin’ Girls for wonderful recipe!!
