Easy and delicious recipe for pepper steak, simply toss all ingredients into slow cooker and cook all day on low!


  • 1 beef round steak cut into strips
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 bell pepper sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Can beef broth
  • 1 Can chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 Cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 Cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 Teaspoon ground ginger


  1. Step One

    Place all ingredients in crock.

  2. Step Two

    Cook on high for 5-6 hours.

    DO NOT COOK ON HIGH for 5 hours. I thought if I cooked this on high for 5 hours it would be over cooked. So I cooked it on low for 5 hours and it was STILL WAY over cooked. It was so over cooked it was uneatable. We had to throw it away. I think this has potential. I may try again but I will cook on Low for 3-4 hours and reduce the amount of tomatoes. The tomato flavor was WAY to strong. I also agree with Lisa that this meal did not taste like pepper steak at all.

    I made this last night, but it was nothing like I expected. It tasted ok, but it reminded me more of Swiss Steak than the Pepper Steak I thought I was getting. It was also soupy, and although I waited until halfway through cooking to put in the onions and peppers, they were still overcooked. I pitched the recipe and will be starting over.
