It’s up to you. I know soaking the beans helps with some of the “effects” that the beans can cause…lol!

  3. Shellie

Do you need to soak the beans first, or just add them all to the pot and cook as they are?

    How much rice?

Where would you add the rice for this recipe? I think it would be great for people who are at Crawfish Broils but do not eat Crawfish

Hey, did you know you can make rice in the crockpot? It always comes out perfect for me.
All you need to do is combine 1 cup of uncooked long grain rice, 2 cups of water, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/2 Tbsp. of butter. Cover and cook on low 4-6 hours or on high 2-3 hours, or until rice is fully cooked. Fluff with a fork before serving.

I submitted this recipe and it is so quick and good, but it should say “if you want less juice, just mash the beans”.
