Minister’s Delight – A delicious recipe for the slow cooker


  • 1 Can Cherry or Apple Pie Filling
  • 1 Package Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1/2 Cup Butter, melted
  • 1/3 Cup Chopped Walnutss


  1. Step One

    Place pie filling in a 1-1/2 qt. slow cooker.

  2. Step Two

    Combine dry cake mix and butter (mixture will be crumbly), then sprinkle over filling.

  3. Step Three

    Sprinkle with walnuts if desired.

  4. Step Four

    Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours.

    Hmmm…I’m not sure about that because frozen strawberries will not have the same texture and consistency as a can of cherry pie filling. If you feel like being experimental, you can let the strawberries thaw, add 1/2 cup to 1 cup of sugar (according to how many strawberries you use) and smash them up a bit. You will probably need to add some cornstarch and water to thicken the berries. I’ve not tried this so not sure is a sure thing.

    YUMMY!!! I made this with a berry medley pie filling & it was DELISH!! I took the lid off after cooking on low for 3.5 hours to let the cake “set up” and it turned out great!
