Lazy Chicken and Dumplings – Easy to make in the slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken, boned
  • 1 and 1/2 Cups celery
  • 1 and 1/2 Cups carrots, cut lengthwise
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 6 garlic cloves smashed
  • 2 potatoes cut up
  • 1/2 Teaspoon thyme
  • 1/2 Cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 Cup milk
  • 1/2 Cup water
  • 1 Can cream of mushroom/cream of chicken soup
  • 1 Can buttered biscuits

Directions

  1. Step One

    Place chicken in slow cooker on low for 3-4 hours.

  2. Step Two

    Add cream of mushroom/chicken, milk, veggies, water, and spices.

  3. Step Three

    Cook for an additional 3-4 hours

  4. Step Four

    One hour before it’s done, add potatoes; stir.

  5. Step Five

    Add canned biscuits to cover the top.

    About an hour before serving, Lori, add your UNCOOKED biscuits. We like to half or quarter them, too. It helps them cook fully and faster!

    How much longer does it cook once biscuits are placed on top ?Or do you add them already cooked? Sounds like a good one to try. Love all of your recipes.
