Green Chili Chicken Soup

Ingredients

  • 4 Large chicken breast boiled and shredded
  • 2 Cans Schwans chicken broth
  • 2 Cans Cream of chicken soup
  • 1 Can Cream of celery soup
  • 1 Small onion (chopped)
  • 6 Tablespoons Butter
  • 1 Pint Half and half
  • 1.5 Teaspoons Dry basil
  • 1.5 Teaspoons Dry parsley
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 Can Chopped green chilies (I use two 4.5 cans, but we think the hotter the better)
  • 6 Tablespoons Flour

Directions

  1. Step One

    Boil chicken and set aside to cool.

  2. Step Two

    When cooled, shred into pieces.

  3. Step Three

    Meanwhile, melt butter and add chopped onion.

  4. Step Four

    Cook until onion is clear.

  5. Step Five

    Add flour and stir well.

  6. Step Six

    Cook until thick.

  7. Step Seven

    Put remaining ingredients, including chicken into a slow cooker.

  8. Step Eight

    Add onion mixture and simmer on low for 4 hours.
