Grandma’s Chicken and Dumplings – Delicious dinner made in a slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 2 Cups Cooked Chicken, diced
  • 1 Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 Can Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 2 Cans Water
  • 4 Teaspoons Flour
  • 1 Chicken Bouillon Cube
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper (optional)
  • 1 Can Pillsbury (non-flaky) biscuits

Directions

  1. Step One

    Combine all ingredients, except biscuits, into slow cooker.

  2. Step Two

    Cut biscuits into quarters and stir into slow cooker.

  3. Step Three

    Cover & cook on low 4-6 hrs - stirring occasionally.

    LOVE this recipe! I put it on high for 5-6 hours though, the biscuits weren’t done enough on low! I make this at least once a week!

    All I have on hand is Bisquick mix and flaky (refrigerated) biscuits. Can I use the bisquick mix instead?

    I learned if you turn up the crock pot to high, the biscuit dumplings cook better..the first time, I did not do this and they were undercooked, so give this yummy recipe another try…

    The chicken and soup base were delicious;however, I found the dumplings undercooked and I cooked them for the entire 6 hours. I thought about taking them our next time and adding more veggies to make this a chicken stew!!
