Hearty and Healthy Chicken Soup – An easy and delicious recipe for the slow cooker
A delicious pot of pinto beans that will feed a large group of people and great with a pan of cornbread and a large slice of onion. Recipe can be adjusted to suit your taste real easy.
- 2 Pounds Dry pinto beans
- 1 Pound Bacon, cut in one pieces
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 1 Cup Brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Garlic, minced
- 1 Tablespoon Cumin
Wash and pick thru beans. Soak in water for several hours or over night. This will soften the beans and they will start cooking sooner.
Mix all ingredients in crock pot and cover with water about three inches above beans. I cook on high til good and hot, then turn down to medium or low, depending on crock pot. Cook slowly until beans are done. Guaranteed to please.
