Cubed Steak in Gravy – A delicious recipe for the slow cooker


  • 1 Family Pack of Cubed Steak
  • 1 Package Lipton Dry Beefy Onion Soup Mix, mix with a cup of water
  • 1 Can Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 Can Beef Consomme


  1. Step One

    I salt and pepper my meat and dredge in flour.

  2. Step Two

    Quickly just brown meat on each side in pan.

  3. Step Three

    Put meat in slow cooker.

  4. Step Four

    Add your Beefy onion mixture, mushrooms and beef consomme.

  5. Step Five

    Cover and cook on low all day (if needed add more water).

    A WINNER! Very easy! Only adjustment I made was I added a little corn starch to thicken the juices. Will make again!

    I just threw this together before work and now looking at the recipe again realized I made several mistakes. I used regular onion soup mix, added beef gravy mix, and a can of garlic cream of mushroom soup. I’m not too worried. Regardless, dinner will be ready when I get home and that can’t be bad.

    I just got a “slow cooker”! When you say cook on low all day, do you mean 6-7 hrs? Tks!

    I do the mushroom soup..mixed with milk..salt and pepper..if for large crowd..more steak means more soup mixture…so 2 cans soup plus 1 can milk.less ingredients,,great with mashed family is not fond of mushrooms…this one they do not even realize is mushroom soup..makes a nice gravy

    My twist on this is Two steaks cut up, 1 package of onion soup mix, 1 can: cream of mushroom soup and 1C of water on low for 7 hours. I serve it over mashed potatoes.
