Crockin' Crayons & Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Marshmallows

What kind of treats can the kids take to school, and what are we going to give their teachers?! This is always the first thing on our minds when a holiday/school party rolls around. Both of these ideas really made answering that question really simple...CROCK THEM! We also loved the idea of not adding even more candy to the kid’s bags at school so the crayons were perfect!

**Use those old broken crayons or a box of new ones to melt into a fun holiday gift!

Crockin' Crayons
Ingredients:

1 (24 count) box of crayons or 50-75 pieces of broken crayons makes 5 Valentine's Day Hearts
1 6-cup heart shaped muffin tin (Small enough to fit in slow cooker. Silicone works best)
Optional:
Card stock or cute bags to make delivery of these crayons as festive as you choose.
Directions:

Fill muffin tin about 2/3 full of broken crayons (no wrappers) with the color combinations of your choice. Place muffin tin into slow cooker, cover and cook on HIGH for about 45 minutes. Turn slow cooker off and remove crock onto hot pads. After about 10-20 minutes of cooling you can place crock in refrigerator to speed up the process. Once crayons are cooled off take pan out and easily "pop" out the heart shaped (or get creative for other holidays) crayons and you are set! Attach to a homemade Valentine's card or place in a bag and attach a ribbon!

Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Marshmallows
Ingredients:

1 package chocolate almond bark
1 package white chocolate almond bark
2 cartons of strawberries
1 package heart shaped jumbo marshmallows
1 – 2 slow cooker liners
Directions:

Place liner in slow cooker. Add chocolate, cover and cook on LOW stirring every now and then until melted. You kinda have to "baby" this and make sure it doesn't scorch! After it is completely melted you can switch to warm and start dippin'! Dip your strawberries and marshmallows in the chocolate and roll in the topping of your choice and set on wax paper until chocolate is firm!

Kristy - place your pan in the freezer for about 20 minutes. Then remove the pan from from the freezer. Place a couple of paper towels on your counter top, and turn the pan upside down on the towels and give it a couple of taps. The crayola residue should just pop right off.

How do I get the left over crayon residue of the silcone heart pan?
