Crockin’ Awesome Chex Mix
This is my Granddaughters favorite summer salad. I try to make it for her and her friends. Great on a hot day
This was always a favorite of mine growing up. My Aunt always made it when she knew we would be visiting.
This reminds me of growning up at my Grandparent's farm.
This healthy snack is a hit with everyone who tries it. My hubby can't get enough of it, and my co-workers asked me for the recipe. The best part? It's guilt free! AND you can customize it. Have peanuts or just a handful of crackers left in the cabinet? Toss 'em in. Want to try a different flavor? Change up the spices.
- 5 Cups Whole Wheat Chex
- 1 Ounce Pine Nuts
- 2 Cups Crushed Pita Chips (multigrain if available)
- 1/2 Cup Cashews
- 1 Cup Pretzels
- 1 Package Italian Salad Dressing Mix
- 2 Tablespoons Italian Seasoning
- 1 Tablespoon Olive Oil
Measure out the ingredients (except for the olive oil) and pour into the crockpot. Mix.
Drizzle olive oil over mixture.
Cook on low for 2 hours and 15 minutes, stirring every half hour. When done, pour onto a baking sheet to cool. Store in a ziploc bag or other air tight container.
