Chocolate Covered Strawberries and Marshmallows

Chocolate covered strawberries make great appetizers, desserts or gifts.  These delicious chocolate covered strawberries are easy using your slow cooker....

Prep Time 10 mins
Cook Time 1 hr
Temp Low

A huge hit at any gathering and super easy to make. I use a very small slow cooker I think it's 1 quart size for this.

Ingredients

  • Chocolate (can use chips, milk or dark just as long as real chocolate)
  • Heavy cream about halfway up the chocolate

Directions

  1. Step One

Place chips in a small slow cooker on low or warm.

  2. Step Two

Add heavy cream about halfway up the chocolate.

  3. Step Three

Allow chocolate to melt (it will look strange until it's fully melted and mixed - then it will be smooth and glossy and gorgeous).

  4. Step Four

Once cream is mixed into the chocolate, keep adding cream and stirring until you reach your desired consistency (not too thick - not too thin).

  5. Step Five

You can also add liqueur (Malibu rum, Grand Marnier, cognac, Kahlua, Frangelico - whatever you like). Add to the desired effect. (Add this after adding cream.)

  6. Step Six

Serve with chunks of fruit, pretzels, potato chips, marshmallows, cake, etc.... Enjoy!

Bonna, you could definitely try it, but we also have a Caramel Dip recipe http://crockingirls.com/recipes/caramel-dip/ Maybe you could combine the two recipes to get just what you’re looking for!

Would this work with the Caramel bits for a Caramel Fondue?

It will take about 2-3 hours. Once everything is melted and you have your desired consistency. Put your crock on warm to guard against scorching. Enjoy the chocolatey goodness.

about how long does it take in the slow cooker?
