Chicken and Spinach – Easy chicken and spinach slow cooker recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 - 6 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 Jar Classico Pasta (four cheese)
  • Onions, bellpeppers, etc.
  • Cajun seasoning, to taste
  • Sliced zucchini and squash
  • Mushrooms sliced (fresh or can)
  • Bag or container of fresh spinach
  • Pasta of your choice (bow-tie, spaghetti, etc.)

Directions

  1. Step One

Layer: Chicken breasts, onions, bell peppers, etc. seasoning, other veggies, and top with spinach.

  2. Step Two

I cook it about 6 hours on low and serve over pasta of your choosing.

  3. Step Three

You can top it with parmesan or other cheese if you would like. Serve with garlic bread and a green salad or cantaloupe! Wonderful and pretty low in fat!

  2. Tara F.

Do you add the sauce in the crockpot on top of the spinach?

Diane, we always cook the pasta on the stove top and pour all the yummy goodness on top unless we specifically say in the recipe to throw the noodles in the crock. Happy Crockin’ to ya!

  4. Diane H.

Do you put the pasta in the crock pot or cook on stove top?

We used the Classico red sauce but you can use the alfredo sauce if you prefer…either would be tasty!!!

Is the “Classico pasta (three cheese)” supposed to be similar to an alfredo sauce? And do you add the sauce at the same time as the veggies?
