Drain juices before you add bbq sauce. I did not have cherry coke, Dr pepper worked just as well

I made this for supper tonight and let me tell you I was so surprised at how good it was. I admit I was thinking cherry coke and pork? but now that I have tried it I will definitely make it again. I used a combination of Hickory brown sugar, Honey and the Original Sweet Baby Rays and it was AWESOME! I served it with butter parsley potatoes and made a cheesecake for dessert. :) perfect balance.

Kate ~ that’s what this recipe calls for, but other recipes like it we make just tell you to dump it all together & crock. After it’s done crockin’, throw away any gristle that’s floating around. Take pork out of the pot, shred it and put it back in. Then mix up the sauce and pork. And we like to keep the coke juice with the chicken. Really it’s just a preference though. That’s the great thing about crockin’! The recipes can easily be tweaked.

Kate–I remove the pork after cooking, discard the “juice,” put the meat back in the crock pot, shred it–THEN add the BBQ sauce and heat on high for just long enough to get it all hot (maybe 15-20 min.).

Sorry..do I add the 2 jars of Sweet Baby Ray’s while it’s cooking or wait until after it’s done and shredded?
