Pork Chile Verde

A succulent, savory Mexican dish!

This is super simple and really good.


  • 1 Pork roast (I used whatever was on sale), 3 or 4 lbs
  • 1 Jar Herdez Salsa Verde (or your favorite tomato salsa)


  1. Step One

    Put the roast in the slow cooker, pour the salsa verde over the top.

  2. Step Two

    Put the lid on and cook on low for 5-6 hours.

  3. Step Three

    The meat will shred so easily and is great in tacos, enchiladas, or nachos. Also on salads or a burrito bowl. Enjoy!

    I have made carnitas like this for years. Try rolling the roast in a little olive oil then pat with pepper, kosher salt, garlic powder and cumin and then pour over Las Palmas green enchilada sauce. Yummy!!!
