Quick, easy, and great for gatherings. What's not to love about this all-time favorite finger food?

Ingredients

  • 1 Package uncooked bacon
  • 1 to 2 Packages little smokies (we like the turkey variety)
  • 2 Cups Brown Sugar
  • toothpicks

Directions

  1. Step One

    Cut bacon into thirds. Take the individual bacon pieces and wrap 1 piece around 1 little smokie; secure with a toothpick until all smokies have been wrapped.

  2. Step Two

    Place brown sugar on the bottom of the slow cooker and add a layer of smokies, repeating layers of brown sugar and smokies until all gone.

  3. Step Three

    Cook on HIGH for 2 - 3 hours, or until bacon is fully cooked, stirring occasionally.

    Dannette,
    I bet it has to do with the temperature of the crock. If you like cooking in your smaller cooker, you can try layering the brown sugar. Makes it easier to make sure all the bacon smokes get a nice coating of sugar.

    I’ve noticed that the bacon gets crispier when I make these in my 3 1/2 quart crock instead of my 6 quart. I don’t know if it’s the size of the crock that makes a difference or the fact that my smaller crock cooks a lot hotter.

    Just a quick tip if your making these in a hurry. Ill pop them in the oven for about 45mins in 325 to really get them going. Then move to the pot to finish then! I think the bacon gets done a bit better, just my thought tho…….
