We're not "morning girls" so this dish is perfect for us to prepare the night before and have ready for our husbands who leave before us and of course our little ones who wake up ready to eat and we've barely brushed our teeth! Oatmeal and apples is a great way to start the day.
Used 6-quart slow cooker

- 2 Cups Steel-cut Oats
- 4 Cups Water
- 5 Cups Milk (may use skim)
- 1 Large Honeycrisp Apple cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
Combine all in the slow-cooker and cook on LOW overnight, 7 to 8 hours.
