French Onion Soup

French Onion Soup – A delicious recipe for the slow cooker.

Temp Low

Used 6-quart slow cooker

Seasoned Ribs

1 Rack of baby back ribs, halved
2-4 capfuls of season-all
1 Onion, cut into chunks or sliced
Corn on the cob, halved
Small bag of baby carrots
6-8 new potatoes, halved or quartered

Cover and cook on Low for 7-8 hours or on High for 5 hours

Strawberry Shortcake:

Angel food cake, cut into thin slices
1 container of your choice of whipped topping
3 cartons of strawberries, diced
1 cup sugar
1/2 carton of Blueberries

Cut cake in 1/2 inch slices and use a star cookie cutter to make star cakes. You
can serve 2 different ways. 1) you can serve all together in a large glass bowl or
2) you can serve individually in separate little bowls. We chose to serve in a large
glass bowl for entertaining purposes.

In a large glass bowl, you will need to layer with cool whip, then a layer of stars,
layer of cut strawberries, and then blueberries. Continue the layers until all
ingredients are used. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Must stay cold.

Happy 4th Party Dish:

1 rectangular dish or platter
1 small square dish
Watermelon, cubed
White cheese, cubed

Rinse blueberries and place into the small square dish. Star layers (stripes) on
larger rectangular dish or platter with watermelon then cheese, watermelon then
cheese. Keep alternating layers or stripes until it looks like the American flag.
Refrigerate until ready to serve.

Festive Drink:
Raspberry Sherbet
1 bag frozen mixed berries
Bottle of ginger ale

In a punch bowl or drink dispenser, spoon sherbet into. Add the mixed berries to
the sherbet and then pour 1 bottle of ginger ale over all. Makes several servings.

I’d like to make this for the 4th, but I don’t know how many it serves. Also, it looks like about 4 ears of corn on the cob halved. Is that about right? Judging from that, it might serve 8 people? Help, please so I can get to the grocery store. Thanks.
