I bought my first crockpot to make special food for my old dog, Pearl, in her final months. Since then, I've been dipping a toe into crockpot cooking (only figuratively, of course!) in an attempt to make yummy stuff that I can take to work instead of spending big bucks buying breakfast and lunch in the company cafeteria. My neighbor recommended this website, and I just bought the Crockin Girls Cookbook. :-)
