My favorite holiday dish is my Christmas sugar cookies–recipe right out of the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook back in the 50′s. My mother made them with me, and I carried on the tradition with my family. Lots of great memories with my husband, son and daughter decorating them in all kinds of fancy ways. When my daughter married and moved to Texas for a while, I mailed her a care package of cookies…only to have them left at her apartment house’s office on Christmas eve. They closed early–and she was pretty upset because they had her cookies for two days, but they would not ordinarily have lasted three days.

Your review has been submitted and should appear on the site shortly.

I think, at the moment, it is Aebleskriver!

These are a Danish specialty for the holidays, and it looks like the dutch New Years Eve “Oliebollen” (http://www.typicaldutchstuff.com/oliebol.shtml).
    (and being a dutch-scandinavian girl … ;-))

But … the Aebleskriver are less fat and more tastefull with the apples inside, Chrildren love them and they sure look beautifull for X-mas and NYE!!

Our traditional Christmas Eve dinner is a favorite. I hold off on these items until then, even though I am tempted to try them early: lasagna and broccoli/cauliflower/pea salad.
