The BIG Christmas Blessing Giveaway

The Big Give

The Winner IS…..Brittany #178.  Not only is your mom blessed to have you as a kiddo, we hope she enjoys the blessing of these Bella appliances and target gift card! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to y’all!! – Jenna and Nicole

Here is her story… and if you have time read them all, but grab a box of tissue first!

“MERRY CHRISTMAS CROCKIN’ GIRLS! It would be the most amazing CHRISTmas for us, if my mom, who loves Crockin’ Girls & LOVES to cook, could win this amazing package. She has been a single mother of 3 (17,15,12) for about 7 years now, and now we are older so the stress of “needing” to have presents under the tree is not so high, but I know that it would make her so happy if she was able to put some under there, plus to be able to give her something that she truly could enjoy using everyday, doing what she loves the most, cooking, it would be my dream come true for her. She works very hard, and is only able to pay our bills, but is truly blessed to be able to do that, and would never ask for anything like this for herself. We have been blessed to be healthy, and although I know it has to be extremely hard on my mom sometimes, she never shows it, and she is the most amazing woman and role model I could have ever asked for. I would love something good to happen to her, to show her that good things happen to good people. She has been subscribed to yall since you first launched your web site. God bless you and your families!”

I would love for my daughter Carie and her husband, Nathan to win this. Carie is about to have their first baby, January 13th is the exact date. They have been married 3 years and for most of the time, Nathan has not been able to find a job. So Carie has been working 2 jobs just to make ends meet. Just recently she quit the one job but is still working. It’s very hard for her with working and being pregnant and it would be great if something nice would happen to her. Since she is the only one working all of her income goes for bills and rent and groceries. She is not able to get ahead so winning something like this would be a big surprise for her. Thank you.

I have a girlfriend who is going through a divorce and she is turning 40 on Friday. Lately she has been down and could really use anything to uplift her spirits. She cares for 2 younger children, one who has autism and she needs to not be down or depressed for them if not for herself. I love this girl so much, I have known her since we were 16-17 years old. She deserves this.

The holidays are a tough time for my best friend and her parents. A couple of years ago her brother killed himself and her Mother was the one to find him. It broke my heart to see her and her family go through this type of pain. She amazed me with how she composed herself and stayed strong for her parents. She has a lot on her plate as her husband is handicapped and she has a young child at home. She works hard to support her family and that in itself has been a struggle. I would love for her to have some holiday cheer as she is always doing so much for her family and does very little for herself.

My story is about my younger sister. She has been married for over ten years, and the marriage was an abusive one. My sister finally got the strength and courage to take her three babies (ages 10, 7, and 4) and move. She had to move into a two bedroom house that was probably a fourth of the size of what they were accustomed too. My sister is now working full time with one job and part time with another all while trying to raise her three children on her own. She may struggle with bills and putting food on the table, but she always has a smile for three babies to let them know that they are loved and going to be ok.

I need to nominate my husband. He made a huge career change and has been there for almost a year and he’s doing great! I am so proud of him for learning something he’s never done before so quickly and well. Despite how proud I am, he is still very hard on himself and extremely stressed. We are in the process of buying our first home and are super excited but this puts a lot of stress on him because he’s the breadwinner. With all the expenses that come with buying a home and the procedure itself, it’s taking a toll on him. I think this giveaway would be perfect for him because this would take some burden off of him financially because he is so concerned (and with reason) about budgeting and making sure that everything lines up that he hasn’t spent anything on himself at all this past year. Even if we come into some extra money, he gets very hesitant and decides to just put it into savings. He deserves a lot and if he were to win this, it would be so nice to see him splurge on himself for everything that he’s done for us and to make it so I am able to stay home with our kids. This would be a great surprise for him and very much appreciated!

It is actually my husband. We have had a rough year, we were tuck in a horrible mudslide on the first day of our family vacation. Lost everything, including our van, ruining our holiday. He works so hard to provide for our family, and I would like to do something nice for him.

I would love for my mom to enjoy something like this. Especially for her 62nd Birthday this weekend! She raised the 3 of us with no help from our dad. Now her kitchen appliances are in dire need of replacement along with the other help the Target card could provide. She now works for a long term care facility in the kitchen. Long hours and not enough pay! She helped to raise everybody else’s kids for 30 years running an in home daycare and is now taking care of some of their grandmas and grandpas!

My future mother-in-law helps support her other son and his 2 children to the point where she had to declare bankruptcy and lost her house. She and both of the kids have many health problems, and she’s steadily going into debt just to keep up with medications and doctor’s appointments. This wonderful woman is so incredibly giving and would really benefit from some holiday cheer.

I would like to nominate my husband Bob. He lost his father 12 years ago on December 7th. This time of year is always hard for him and he never really gets in the ‘christmas spirit’. I would really love to see him a little more cheery. Especially since we have 23 month old twins who really seem to be enjoying all of the holiday festivities. Now if only we can get dad in on the action.

I would like this for my mom. I don’t have a lot, and my mom always helps me and my children out. Both her and her husband have been a blessing in disguise to me and the kids. I didn’t really get to know my mom until I was 18 and moved to Ky fro NJ. We have had our ups and downs and turnarounds. I am 40 now and I suppose as you get older the more you learn about people and the kindness that everyone deserves. Something I’ve come across recently, Do not judge for you do not know the storm I’ve (God) asked them to go through. I would look at this everyday and apply it people I come across everyday. Then one day I thought, well that goes for mom also. I love my mom and I wouldn’t change anything that has happened over the years, it’s how we got to where we are today. Much love, Blessings and Merry Christmas everyone!

I would love to win this for my mother. Dec.27th, 2008 my youngest sister (19) passed away unexpectedly. Alyssa was the baby of the family and needless to say, Christmas has never been the same since. My mom loves to cook and this could possibly bring her a smile on Christmas day.

My sister, Jackie, could certainly use some cheer. Her first marriage was to an abusive husband. She and her three girls (at the time – she and her new hubby have another little girl now) got out, and found a wonderful man who adopted my nieces as his own. He was in the Air Force then, but had to be medically discharged early this year due to some health issues they have just recently figured out. They’ve found either an arachnoid cyst or a mega cisterna magna on his posterior fossa, and more testing will be done. VA benefits have not (and won’t for some time) kick in, and his most recent job let him go due to the medical issues. They never made much in the military, and any side jobs he had were to cover basic things like eating. :-( The medical bills have stacked up with their youngest daughter having a “lazy eye” and needing corrective lenses. Their college daughter is having to help them out financially so they can eat at all. They are really struggling right now trying to get the medical services and testing he needs, but the money just isn’t there. This would bless them tremendously at this time of year when they have nothing for their kids. Thank you for having such huge hearts to help those who really need it. We can only do so much ourselves, and opportunities like this are wonderful. Bless you!

My sister in law is a single mom who works her but off. Not only does she work 40 + hours a week she is also a full time student and a full time mother who does it all for the most part on her own. Sadly as soon as things are going on track for her something always seems to happen. Just recently she took her daughter to her soccer game and someone hit her new car that she has worked her self to death trying to pay for and took off while at the soccer game. She had to pay a $500 deductable to fix it and its Christmas time, so now not only is she having to pay for damages done by someone else she still has to buy Christmas for her daughter. I think if anyone deserves a little break and deserves something nice its her. She is a wonderful person and mother and I know this would put a big smile on her face! :)

My mom is the strongest person I know. In 2010 my mom was hospitalized with endstage COPD. Since then she is on consnt oxygen and takes a ton of daily. medicine. People often comment how her oxygen has been a death sentence but she feels otherwise. She has been a big part of her grandchildrens and kids life’s the last couple of years. She continues to try and find employment even though she is always rejected due to her oxygen. Somehow she manages to keep a smile and try and stay positive.

I have a sister who is a blessing, she always thinks of others before her own self, always giving and sharing, but in reality she is the one who needs help. She does not work takes care of a couple grandkids for a room and food. she cooks, cleans, does everything, and seems like she could use a big thanks for all you do……she does not even own a crock pot, borrows one from others to use….she needs to win, because she also needs to get out of the house and maybe do something fun….like maybe shopping…..during the holidays she is very depressed as she lost her daughter to an unthinkable act by another, and this will mark her 7th year since passing, and her daughter had saved multiple lives by being an organ donor, being she had just turned 21, her organs were very viable for others in need…….see, giving and sharing again…..helping others as much as she is able to….this is who I think deserves to win……..Merry Christmas to all…..

I wish someone could nominate me. So I will say I will nominate my family. I am a single mom of four kids. I try my hardest to get by. The kids are my world. The gift card would come in handy for alot of things my family needs. Such as shampoo and toilet paper that most people dont see as a huge item. But for my family it is. I am only working 12 hrs a week. Which does not get
me very far. The cooking items would be awesome for myself. I live to crock and all my stuff is hand me downs. . Please pick my family.. not being greedy but definitely could use the pick me up

I have a sweet friend that works so hard, but always has an awesome attitude and a smile on her face. She and her husband have five children ranging in age from college to five!! Her husband lost his job last year, but was able to find work until he can get something permanent. She works two jobs, which takes her away from her family way too much. It seems like everytime they take a step forward something happens to make them take a step back. I know this would help them a lot!

My son & his wife had a baby girl in August. She is 4 months premature and weighed just 16.5 ounces. Its been a long road. Our son was deployed to Afghanistan at the time of her birth. His wife did not even know she was pregnant till she went to the hospital with pain. She found out she was in labor as well and gave birth to Amanda 6 hours later. I had to send out a Red Cross message to my son. He arrived in the States and by his daughter’s bedside a week later. As a micro preemie she has struggled & fought. She is still in the NICU at this time due to ROP condition of her eyes. Otherwise a very healthy 6 lbs 10.5 ounces! Her daddy was allowed to stay back in the states but is stationed in Kansas while his wife & daughter are in Iowa at the Children’s hospital in Iowa City. We would all like for her to come home to her daddy for Christmas. It depends on the development of the eye test they do weekly. She stays in the NICU to get 50% oxygen for her developing eyes. Her daddy is struggling with the effects of the war as well. He misses them both. We pray every day for her eyes & for her daddy as well.

I would like to nominate my friends father Tom Pomerleau. On Feb 14,2010 his daughter was in a car accident that left her with traumatic brain injury and unable to care for her 3 children. He not only devoted his life to helping his daughter but has taken custody of her 2 youngest children who are 5 and 15 (her oldest is 22) since her exhusband is not able to care for the children. At his age he should be thinking of retirement but must now start over and raise her children. Unfortunately my best friend, Monique, passed away on Nov 9,2012 from complications from the accident. This would help him and the kids out alot!
Thank you very much for taking the time to do this for someone who needs this help!!!

On November 3, my sister-in-law started her dishwasher and then left the house for a couple of hours. When she returned home, her house was on fire. Apparently her dishwasher caught on fire. She lives out in the country and no one saw that it was on fire…they lost everything. She doesn’t work and he works in retail, needless to say, they weren’t well off in the first place. Her and her husband love to cook for all of us and I’m hoping that this would put a little cheer in their lives! I know it wouldn’t replace everything that was lost, but would definitely put a smile on their face!

I have a friend who is in the process of adopting their second special-needs child from China. They are spending every dime on his adoption. I know she will make Christmas special for her family, but there’s no way she will let them spend any money on her! She constantly is thinking about how she can do special things for others without a single thought about herself. If there is anyone deserving of this, I know she would be an amazing recipient of this amazing gift.

A dear friend of mine who purchased the home next door to her parents so that she could help care for them just lost her mother a few days before Thanksgiving this year. As one would expect, her world is irreversibly changed. Not only is she working through her own grief, she’s worrying about her father as he works through his. I wonder if a holiday surprise might boost her spirits and help her to find the joy of this powerful season so that she can remember to celebrate with her young daughter and her father. Maybe it would allow her to offer up this Christmas in honor of her mother and turn sadness into joy.

I would love to win this for my sister. 12 years ago her daughter was in a really bad car accident and was in a coma for 6 weeks. Her daughter had 2 closed head injuries & is unable to do anything for herself. My sister has been taking care of her at home since she came home from the hospital 11 years ago. This past summer her husband (and the daughter’s father) left her for another woman. She has no income & could really use the Target gift card and all of the goodies. She is also currently taking care of one of her grandchildren. Oh how I would love to be able to bless her with these gifts!!!

I would love my dear friend Kaysie to win this! Last weekend, Kaysie, her husband and two young children lost their home and everything in it (including two puppies) to a fire. It literally completely burned to the ground – nothing but ashes. To make matters worse, they did NOT have homeowners insurance (it was an old family home). They’re currently staying w/ her in-laws until they can get back on their feet.

I’d like to see my son and his wife win this…they’ve struggled for over a year now with issues such as severe depression, job loss, mounting bills. My DIL has worked tons of hours to make ends meet and my son has worked hard towards getting back to the life they had. This couple has met challenges that those of us who have been married for years would have crumbled under, yet they have maintained a Christian home filled with love for their two daughters. I’d like to see them get some things they need for their home and daughters with the Target card and enjoy some new appliances in their home.

I would love for my sweet friend Amy to win this. She is the proud mommy to 2 sweet boys, a loving wife, and a strong Christian woman who would do anything for anyone without expecting anything in return. Almost 5 months ago her husband was in an automobile accident leaving him out of work and he isn’t expected to be able to return for at least 3 more months. I haven’t heard her complain one time and yet when my family got the stomach bug a few weeks ago, she was the first one on my door step with food for us. With all that her family is going through, she still puts others ahead of herself. During this holiday season, I would love for her to win this so that the medical bills, grocery bills, health insurance, and every other day stresses may seem a little less evident. Thank you!!

I know someone who could really use the mental boost, as well as some financial help. She moved from MI for a job in PA to be close to her family, then went through some health issues only to find out she was pregnant on Halloween, that she was almost 7 months pregnant. She is due January 27. She had spent years never able to get pregnant when she was younger, and now that she’s 39 she’s high risk due to her age and the fact her pregnancy went unnoticed (she took 2 pregnancy tests and the hospital and numerous doctors/specialists never did a pregnancy test!) She’s very happy to be having a little girl, she’s wanted this forever… but is under so much stress it’s keeping her from enjoying her pregnancy. The father won’t be involved, and he hasn’t been in her life since she moved. To top it all off, she just found out that she’s just a couple months shy of being covered under FMLA, so once she has the baby she is also going to be without a job. No income, unable to work due to having her daughter, and no insurance. I pray for her daily.

My friends, Tim and Amber Davis of Mt. Juliet, TN, have a 16 month old daughter, Sadie, and a 3 year old son, Eli. Sadie was in and out of the hospital, due to seizures, that the doctors thought may have been caused by Meningitis. She was released some time in November, and expected to make a full recovery. Less than a week later, Sadie was back in the hospital, and had a Stroke. The doctors finally gave the family an unexpected diagnosis. Sadie has been diagnosed with Acute Myeloma Leukemia, and has been in the hospital receiving Chemotheraphy to try and cure her of this awful disease. Everyone is now being tested to see if they can be bone marrow donors. There are only 2 visitors allowed in the room with Sadie at a time, so Tim, Amber, and Eli can’t all visit her together, and they can’t all be together at the same time unless someone else comes and spends time with her. This is a family of Faith, and I am just overwhelmed by their Strength, and their complete trust in God through this entire situation. I think they would be most appreciative of this gift at this time- Crock-Pot meals would fit their situation perfectly, as they are basically living at Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, and I know they would be humbled and feel so blessed that they were even considered for this. The financial strain of having a sick child is a great one, and I know they could use the gift card to make sure both of their children have some sort of semblance of a Christmas. If nothing else, please remember the Davis family in your prayers, as they go through this difficult time! We love them, and wish nothing more than an outcome of great health for Sadie, and peach for their family.

I would like to nominate my mom and dad. My dad has been unemployed on and off for about 5 years now, completely for the last year. He found out earlier this year that he had cancer on the base of his tongue. They tried to remove it, but were not successful and he started chemo and radiation. When he was going through it all we found out my husband was having an affair and they took in me, my 3 year old, and my 8 month old twin girls. About a month after that he got pneumonia and ended up in ICU where he flat lined twice and we almost lost him. He ended up with a tracheotomy and a feeding tube. As soon as he was released from the hospital he was on interviews again trying to find a job (with a trach this is somewhat hard to do). They had to file for bankruptcy and sell their house. My mom brings home $16 after paying for insurance, and they are about to have to move in with us (I reconciled with my husband). We are giving them money to pay their bills for Christmas, but I know they feel horrible not being able to give their grandchildren Christmas presents. My hope is that if they won they would spend it on groceries for themselves. My dad recently received the news that he is cancer free and they removed his trach. He still has his feeding tube, but is hoping to be able to eat solid foods again soon.

I would love to give this to my friend Jen. She is a single mother of four. She has been thru so much this year. The last thing was losing her home and everything in it to Hurricane Sandy. She is a super sweet, strong woman who could totally use a break. She works full time and with 2 kids plus a set of twins she could really use these things. Please pick her! Thank you.

I would love my son to become a ‘Crockin Guy’! He’s a single guy, just starting out on his own and will be moving to Colorado Springs right after Christmas. He will be bringing all his worldly possessions with him as he moves north and will be living with 3 other guys. I would love to send him off with a crockpot and a cookbook! I would love for some Texas crockin’ recipes to be cooking in Colorado! He will be teaching some very special kids in Colorado…thanks for your consideration!

I would like to nominate my best friend! She is going through a divorce, which is devastating. He hurt her and their children so badly, and she had the courage to move on and become a single mom. She is currently working full time, after being a stay at home mother for 3 years. Any working mother knows how difficult a time like this can be. She is living in a small apartment with her son and daughter, and makes enough to pay her car payment, day care and cell phone bill. She has little extra for anything else. As long as I have known her, she has always put others first. She loves to cook, and would always have friends over to entertain and make them a delicious meal. With the divorce, she has had to sell a lot of her kitchen appliances, and I know this would mean the world to her. The appliances would help make her apartment a home, and the gift card would help to provide Christmas gifts to her beautiful children.

I would love to nominate my Grandparents, yes they are in their late 70’s and early 80’s but have so much life to live and give! They are THE most giving people I’ve ever met and I’m not just saying that because I’m their grand-daughter. My grandpa retired years ago from Goodyear Tire, he now works part time, every day, with my family’s business. He’s endured so much this last year being diagnosed with his 4th cancer and currently going through treatment. He continues to work everyday, then after work goes and helps out whoever needs it. They are constantly volunteering and helping everyone else, he’s one of Santa’s helpers who puts smiles on so many kids’ faces by making appearances at 50+ homes, churches, daycares, etc and has been for 30+ years, last year and this year he has had to cut back due to the cancer. My grandma is in her kitchen day in and day out, cooking for elderly neighbors, church events, or goodies for work, something every single day! They’ve lived in the same house since the 50’s and she would love new small appliances to cook with! They never ask for anything or do anything for themselves! They deserve so much and are so giving!

I would LOOOVE for my husband to win this blessing! He works 2 hours away and cannot come home but on the weekends…he works 12 plus hours a day to provide for his 2 daughters and me, his wife. He sacrifices what he can just so us girls can have what we need be it food/gas money/etc. We have been married for 13 years and he truly is a hard working and loyal family man. He would be able to do so much for himself w/ that gift card and I of course could make him yummy stuff (like I do every week for him to take “home” Monday mornings) for him to have for food. He works full time and I work part time and this would really be a blessing to our family!

My daughter could really use a pick me up this year. They were so excited this past July as they finally had a down payment for a home this year but just this past month they have had a few issues which cost them about $5000 out of pocket to fix. Their Christmas will be thin this year for them. This would be a great pick me up for her and her husband in their new house!!!

I would love to nominate my husband. He lost his job just before Thanksgiving, along with 2 others in the company. He is the bread winner in our family and has taken a big step and decided to start his own remodel/renovation/carpentry business. We pray everyday that everything works out and his business takes off. In order to cut some of our daycare expenses he also spends 2 days during the work week with our little ones (4 and 2) while I am working. He is a great father to our little ones. In the midst of things we are still giving to others this Xmas through the school our church has adopted and bought gifts for 2 little ones that otherwise wouldn’t have anything. He knows that there are a lot more that do not have jobs and giving back is what God has put us here to do. He knows that God will watch over and take care of us.

I think my co-workers daughter could use a blessing like this the most.
She a young mother…trying to go to school and work and take care of her young family. They just moved into their first apartment and need just about everything.
I’m proud of her, with everything she has been through in her young life she is still being a great Mom and not giving up on making her own way!

I would like to nominate my mom. She is the mother of 5 daughters & has been married to our dad for 40 years. She has been a Pastor’s wife for over 30 years & has given it her all. Over the last few years, my dad has struggled with kidney failure. He was put on dialysis earlier this year & then received the ultimate gift of a new kidney 3 months ago. She has stood by him & taken care of him throughout the whole process. She has always put her needs aside & taken care of everyone else. I would love for her to win this wonderful blessing because she has always been a blessing to everyone!

I would like to nominate my husband. He has been the most supportive man in the world when I quit my job as an office manager in a law office to start my dream of opening a daycare with my sisters. He has solely supported us on an entry level job and always been supportive while we struggle to make ends meet because he knows how much I want to live my dream. And now, while I work 60-70 hours a week without getting paid in my business, he always makes sure dinner is ready when I come home and picks up our daughter after he works a long day and takes great care of her. He never complains, he just does it all. He even is taking on overtime every weekend just so I can live my dream. He is the greatest blessing I could ask for and I would be so happy to give this to him.

My sister-in-law Eileen & her husband were impacted by Hurricane Sandy hitting the Jersey Shore. She lost everything on the first floor which included her kitchen. While I was there helping her clean out her kitchen I was very sad to watch her throw out all her small appliances, some of which she had for 30 years or more. Eileen has always been a very important & special person in my life, watching me grow up and being there for all the special events now that I am grown with my own family. It is very upsetting to know how sad she is about losing her possessions & I think she would be thrilled to win this giveaway….I know in my heart she deserves this & more!

I have a friend that has been put through the ringer the past few years with her husband being laid off time & time again! She makes so much happen with so little and now they are behind on things and she deserves so much for doing so much for her family. She is an awesome friend and so deserves a blessing to come her way!

My Mother-in-law is an amazing woman with a big heart. She would give to anyone and help out in any way possible. She is always a happy person that doesn’t hold back her opinions. She is someone that for the past eleven years I have looked up to and loved. This past year has been extremely difficult for her, as she has lost two people whom she cherished and held so close to her heart, her sister and her husband. She basically moved to Oklahoma to be with her sister during her trying time battling diabetes. She was there when her sister had her leg amputated and there when the doctors said there was nothing else that could be done. When she came home she realized that her husband, a 64 year old retired police officer, looked pale. After taking him to numerous doctors he was told that he had a blood disorder and that his body was not producing white blood cells. She was always there by his side ..for the good days and bad days. One morning he lost his battle only six months after being diagnosed. He was always there with her and for her and now all of a sudden she didn’t have him. Through everything she still puts others first. She deserves to be happy. This gift would mean so much to her!

I would love this bundle. I use my crockpot so much that it needs replaced. The inner has cracked. I host a neighborhood holiday meal for homeless or people who have no where else to go. My crockpot is the most important kitchen appliance. We use it almost everyday. I cannot wait to get your new cookbook for Christmas. It is all I asked for.

I am nominating my boyfriend. We have been together for 5 years. He is the foundation of my heart. He has always been there no matter what. He is currently going to school to become a biomedical engineer so that hopefully one day he can pop the question to me. This christmas we cant afford any christmas for the two of us. Im sure if he won he would spend all of the money on me. He has spent a long year working so that i could take some time off to take care of my sister. About 3 years my little sister was in a terrible car accident. The accident left her in a coma for 4 weeks. I never left her side because of my boyfriend. He took on the responsiblity of working and paying the bills so i could take care of my sister. Thats the reason i love him so dearly. He allows me to be with my family in need. Merry Christmas everyone

I would nominate my mom who just found out she has to have cataract surgery and loses out on thousands of dollars in a bad real estate deal with a friend, which in the process is costing her the 30yr friendship too. She’s been feeling really down on her luck and could use a happy blessing.

My son & daughter inlaw’s house burned on 6/15. They & their 6 children lost everything. They had insurance but not enough. They had to use part of their contents money to build the structure. Therefore she cut corners on dishes and small appliances. I would love to see her win these items and the $500 gift card would give their children an amazing Christmas.

I would like to nominate my father and mother. My father had a heart attack back in August. He has been off work since then. My mother just retired and has been taking care of him…bless her heart. It has been a rough adjustment for the both of them. I know they have been a little stressed with meal plannings and meds. They have been great troopers over it all…and an inspiration to me. Even though life throws you curves, they got back up and are making the best of the situation. They have been such wonderful parents…always giving, helping our family and others out….without any complaints. I would love to give them back something wonderful for all they do!

I have a coworker, a single mother if four, who in 2010 had a mesh inserted for a hernia. She had many complications post surgery and was out for 4 months. Well, earlier this year the mesh started tear away and in September she went in to have it repaired. While she was recovering, one of her sons was admitted for appendicitis and had to have emergency surgery. As it turns out his appendix had ruptured and by the grace of God the poison hadn’t yet spread thru his body. However, he remained in the hospital fighting infection and ended up having to have another surgery three weeks later. While dealing with all of this, my coworkers leave time was up and she had no choice but to return to work. Financially this has been a major burden on her family and she has had to make the tough decision to forego Christmas for her children (her youngest still believes in Santa). This giveaway would benefit her immensely and may even keep the believing going for her daughter. Because she is also my friend, I can tell you she faces life with a positive attitude, she doesn’t complain about what she doesn’t have and works hard to provide what little she can. Thank you for giving all of us a chance to recognize those who may need a little extra help this year.

I would nominate a friend and her family. After being laid off for 10 months, they were in danger of losing their house. After he found another job, they managed to refinance their house. Unfortunately, he got laid off again. Even though she works as many hours as possible, their house is in danger again. Due to other unexpected expenses, they are probably spending their last Christmas in their home. They’re worried about having Christmas presents for their child. Her husband is depressed because he is unable to provide for his family and desperately wants a job. They are at the end of their rope. They need a blessing.

My friend lost a long time friend to cancer this year. It was very hard for her as the lady was fairly young.

Also this friends mother-in-law moved into their house this summer. If she doesn’t need a blessing right now, I don’t know who does!

I would like to nominate my oldest daughter. This year is her 12 12 12 birthday. She is a hard working elementary teacher and mother of two young boys. She has nine years of seniority, and has been laid off for two years, and for the past four years, she is never sure in June if she will have a job in September.

This year was the first year she knew she had a job at the end of the school year in June, 2012. She was so excited to have more than 24 hours to set up her classroom. This excitment was quickly diminished when the school district announced that 35 teachers were going to be laid off in the first week of December. Although the district has not reduced teachers yet, they are proposing pay cuts and suspension of any step increases.
Teachers, and mothers of teachers, truly know how much of their personal income goes to their students. A teacher as dedicated as my daughter ensures that a child always has snack, pays a forgotten book order, buys special treats as rewards. This money would not go to one, it would be used in her classroom.
    Thanks for your consideration!

I would like for this to go to our local Children’s Home here in Wichita, KS. They could use the appliances and with the $500 Target Gift Card, I would like to be able to purchase them lots of brand new shoes for the kiddos that are staying or will stay there. I do know that they go through lots of shoes, and it’s hard for them to make it through the year, as they run out. My church does a shoe drive of new shoes every year for them, but they still run out of shoes for these precious little ones. Some of these kids have never had a new pair of shoes, and knowing they are receiving them is a wonderful feeling!

I can think of many people who would love these items but would rather bless someone, or even many, that I do not know. I am thinking of a place that is full of poverty unlike anything that people I know personally are experiencing. The place is Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Recent reports vary but many point out that the median income on the Pine Ridge Reservation is approximately $2,600 to $3,500 per year. Teenage suicide rate on the Pine Ridge Reservation is 150% higher than the U.S. national average for this age group. School drop-out rate is over 70%. The infant mortality rate is the highest on this continent and is about 300% higher than the U.S. national average. Not to mention the alcohol and sexual abuse problems. But with our God, there is always hope. So I would love if you would bless OST Pine Ridge Emergency Youth Shelter. The OST Emergency Youth Shelter provides temporary refuge for girls and boys ages 12 through 17. The shelter is a 10-bed home and the children stay from one to 30 days. They are placed in the shelter because they may have been abused, neglected, or have run away from difficult situations. The children are usually referred by social services agencies and typically come in with only the clothes they are wearing. Thank you.

This is such a hard time of year for her.

I would like my sister in law to win. A year ago Dec 26th my brother walked out on her and their two kids after 10years of marrage for another women. She works full time, her car just broke down and her 11 year old and 8 year old want nothing more than for their mom to be happy…

I want to nominate my good friend,Angie. Her and her husband recently adopted 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl) that were in a severely abusive home. Over the past couple of years they have fostered them and now they are officially theirs. Adjusting their family from 3 to 6 has been a financial strain. These children are special to me and their parents are gifts from God. They could truly use this to make this Christmas a special one.

Almost 2.5 years ago my brother decided he didn’t want to be a part of my or our Mother’s lives anymore. We’ve had virtually no contact from him ans it is extremely difficult especially during the holidays. On top of that just after Thanksgiving this year Mom was diagnosed with late stage 2 or early stage 3 lung cancer. She will probably be starting chemo this week. She’s always helping others and I would love to find a way to help her financially & to be able to have hearty meals to keep up her strength. God bless you ladies for all you do!

My exceptionally wonderful mother! She has sacrificed so much of her life for my brother and myself. She has penny pinched and gone without when our family struggled during our upbringing. Now my precious daddy has gone to heaven leaving my mother alone, as we (her children) are grown and gone. She works cleaning houses to make ends meet and still she sacrifices, rarely buying anything for herself, so she can do something for her grandchildren. She is the most selfless person I know! God bless her!!

I’m writing this for a very good friend of mine and her family, The Duncans. Crystal and David got married 12 years ago after she became pregnant at the age of 18. They were blessed by a son named Dylan. Fast forward to May of 2010. Three children later, and only 8 weeks after the birth of their 3rd miracle, David had begun feeling ill. After much convincing, he finally decided to go to the Dr. At the age of 30, what David and their family thought was nothing more than Pneumonia, they discovered that he had Stage 4 Lung Cancer. This is a man who never smoked, always did things for others, put others before himself, and loved the Lord. He has been fighting this disease with the most courage you have to see to believe. He has beat the cancer in his lungs twice now. In August, he suffered a major setback as the cancer had spread to his brain. The tumor encompassed his entire brain and the cancer cells were found in his spinal fluid. The doctors had given him weeks to months to live. After much prayer, being in a coma, and undergoing painful and exhausting chemotherapy, the tumor surrounding his brain has disappeared. David is truly a living miracle who has touched many. Crystal has been acting as a single mother, father, taxi driver, cook, maid, etc. for months. She and David are fighting this illness with dignity and an incredible love for each other, and their family. David still has his sense of humor, and he never loses hope. Their medical expenses are in the thousands and they never complain or ask for help. Please consider blessing The Duncan family with this gift card. Their children are 13, 7, and 2.5. This would be an incredible gift for this wonderful family.

I would like to enter my daughter for these lovely gifts. Her family have been struggling for so many years and three years ago she was diagnosed with MS. She doesn’t complain about her disability but is always doing what she can for her daughters and husband. They tried to get a loan to buy a $15,000 house last week but was turned down. Phil had been unemployed for most of four years and has recently found a job although he doesn’t always get 40 hrs a week. They are still behind on their utility bills and still they seem to stay upbeat. Brenda does all the cooking, cleaning and laundry. She says she is a stay-at-home Mom and she should do these things. It takes her longer than the ordinary person but she trudges though. I am very pround of her and her family.

I would like to nominate my older sister and her family. She has three beautiful children, 11, 13, 16. Two years ago my nephew spent Christmas break in the hospital and was diagnosed with Crohns Disease. It was a difficult time for them. However, in March of this year my nephew, both nieces, and my nephews best friend were in a serious car accident. My nephews best friend was killed in the accident and all the of my sisters children were air lifted 2 hrs away to Austin. As you can imagine the minutes and hours that passed were heart wrenching for our family. The kids had serious injuries, but have had a long recovery. My sister is a nurse and quit her job to be with the kids and be a part of the OT, PT, ST, neurology, etc appt. that followed for months. This traumatic event has had a significant impact on our family. Not to mention the financial burden of the numerous medical bills. Now as Christmas approaches, my nephew is back in the hospital with medical issues. I truly admire my sister and brother in law for their strength and faith in all of the challenges the last few years have brought them. They deserve some surprise Christmas cheer.

I would love to win this for my daughter and son-in-law. They are doing such a wonderful job setting good examples for their children (my grandbabies) and they certainly deserve a “good deed” in return. During this holiday season they are taking their children (7 and 3) to give special presents to the firemen in their neighborhood and other public service workers, shopping for children less fortunate, helping out at a community center by serving food, and tutoring children having trouble at school. My granddaughter is always trying to think of ways to “surprise” someone with something special. I am very proud of my own daughter and especially proud of the mother she is to her children.

My husband had a stroke at age 58. To add to that, this summer we found out I have chronic kidney disease. The only bright spot in his life is our 10 year old grandson who we have raised since his birth. We have been married for 45 years and he has been the rock that we all depend on. He has always put his family before himself. He is depressed this Christmas and this blessing would certainly be well deserved.

I think my sister April deserves this. She would give the shirt off her back for anyone! She has 3 amazing kids and one hardworking husband who works 6-7 days straight just to support them. Seems like they can never get a break and are dealt a bad hand time and time again. Something like this big giveaway would really brighten their situation!

I would love for my husband to get this amazing gift. My husband had two cancerous tumors (synovial sarcoma) removed in October. It was the third time he has battled the disease in 8 years. On December 2nd our family drove from Denver to Houston to see the doctors at MD Anderson. The doctors told him they cannot help him this time because the chemotherapy and radiation he has had in the past has had a negative effect on his body and it’s too risky to give him any right now. We just got back home this evening and he is returning to work first thing in the morning. Since we spent a lot on this trip he is working so hard to make sure our boys (ages 5 and 8) have a wonderful Christmas. I just wish we could get him something just for him. He deserves to take it as easy and enjoy this beautiful season. May you all enjoy a very merry Christmas with the ones you love.

Hello, my name is Sandra. This is a story about my big sister, who is 60. Raising two children on her own was not in the plans. Yet, after her husband passed away from a brain tumor she had to step into the role of a single parent. While her husband was ill she gave up her job to spend his remaining days with him. Her credit cards got her through. Now, 17 years later she is almost done paying the credit card debt off. Her oldest son just received his CPA and her daughter is now an RN. Both of the kids did college with the help of student loans, and understood that nothing was given to them like their other friends. Mom was the support for them both and truly does not comprehend the strong sense of hard work and dedication that she mirrored for her kids. She feels guilty for not having given them more…more vacations, more toys, more cars, etc.. I remind her of all she has done solely on her own. No help to make decisions or take out the garbage or fix the broken dishwasher. It would be wonderful for her to have someone give to her for a change. By the way, she made many a meal in her crockpot so her kids would have a warm dinner when she got home from work!

I would love for my friend Jessica to win. Both her and I were pregnant- me with my third and her with her second 2 weeks apart. At 18 weeks along her and her husband found out something was wrong with the baby and that it may not make it. They eventually learned they were having a sweet baby girl. Baby Marie survived almost to full term. Her heart stopped and Jessica had to deliver a couple days later and buried her a few days after that when I was giving birth to my son. Jessica has been amazingly strong and such a trooper. I know this would bring some joy to her!

I would love to win this for one of the most wonderful women I know…my mom. My parents have 11 children and, while I am married and out of the house, they still have 6 living at home and 2 in college. My mom homeschools the 4 youngest. My mother loves it and wouldnt have it any other way, but it has been a rough year for her & my dad. She gives of herself 100% all the time and loves nothing more than having her family and kids over for some quality time and a home-cooked meal, even with every thing else on her plate.
This year, my parents have struggled a little more with finances (just like a lot of people have this year). Earlier this year my dad was working 2 jobs, although currently only has his one. But aside from the typical financial struggles my mother in particular has has a emotionally trying year. She just lost her father a few months ago and now her mother, who has lived down the road from her for 20+ years and been a major part of our lives, moved out of state to live with her other daughter (my aunt) who has better time and resources to care for her as she is needing some more full time care. THere is nothing more important to my mom as family and she gives so much to us, I’d love to see her with a little extra holiday cheer this year!

I don’t normally ask for things for myself. However, it’s been a whirlwind year of struggle. My self-employed husband has lost most of his customers to bankruptcies and I’m working two jobs to make ends meet. We have 4 children, boys aged 6 and 16, girl aged 17 and 20. We are unable to get much for Christmas this year – we signed up for Toys for Tots this year but the cut off age is 15, so my big kids won’t get help. We live in a rural community with no businesses, so I have to drive 13 miles one way to get to work. So a lot of my paycheck goes to feed the gas tank. My 20 year old is suffering from PTSD due to my brother-in-law’s suicide in 2009, and my husband had a mild heart attack last Wednesday due to the stress. When it rains it pours. How do I explain to our 6 year old why Santa came to him and not to the big kids? This contest would be a great help! We could finish Christmas and get necessities as well!

I would like to nominate my grandmother. She is 76 years old and she is an amazing lady. She still works full time at a fuel center for Kroger. She doesn’t make much but she has to keep working because of all the debt her 3 sons have put her in. She is constantly thinking of them instead of herself, but it is really wearing on her because she is in so much debt from them. They use her and she lets them. She never has the money to get things for herself or for her grandkids at Christmas and the Target gift card would mean so much to her. Knowing her, she would probably donate the appliances to someone that would need them more than her. Her husband, my grandfather, passed away 11 years ago and his birthday is two days after Christmas. It is always a hard time for her. She has a heart of gold and deserves nothing more than to be thanked by someone for just being a genuinely good person. Thank you for considering her.

I am not the type of person to ask for help or a handout – I even contemplated on whether ot not I should even comment here to nominate myself. I typically love this time of the year – the gift giving, the cooking, the get togethers. However, this year has been really hard on me financially. Even though I am (thankfully) employeed I have had several set backs including the most difficult one of car problems and trying to get it fixed. It broke my heart to have to tell my 7 year old and 13 year old nephews (who I have always treated as if they were my own kids) that I could NOT do Christmas with them this year. It’s hard to see such sadness in a little kids eyes when they don’t understand why you just can’t do it. I could also see how it broke my mom’s heart when I told her that I would attend her family dinner but when gift giving began I would be leaving – I didn’t want to be the only one there who couldn’t participate and I didn’t want them buying for me either. I know there are so many deserving people out there with so many other issues but I just ask you to please take my request into consideration so that I don’t leave my nephews broken hearted this Christmas.

    Thank you kindly.

This would be a welcomed gift for Victoria, a friend I go to church with. She lost her husband last year to cancer and she is now raising 3 teenagers alone. She works as a nurse, had to sell her home and she continues to service at our church with joy in her heart; through all of her pain and loss. We all miss Dan very much. God Bless you!

Hello Crockin Family…..I just wanted to start off my comment by telling you how much I love love love, all of the recipes that you have showed me how to make in my crock!! Awesome timesaving recipes!! Thank you! I dont have a family member or a friend who could use the prize, but i will say this….I live in New Jersey. As an avid “shore goer”, it makes my heart sick and sad to see the devistation that happened along the jersey coast. Should i be the one that is picked I will donate anything that i win to a family that could use the products! I already own 2 crocks. Maybe a shelter could use it or like i said someone who could use it!! Thank you again for all of your fabulous recipes! keep up the great work!! Merry Christmas! and Happy New Year to everyone :)

I’d like for my boss and friend, Mary, to win this prize. She came to our location just over a year ago and in that time has faced many trials. First she came in ‘new’ to existing employees as their boss — that alone is never easy.

    Then she lost her mother.

A few weeks after that, while on vacation to see her daughter and grandchildren out of state, she had to have emergency surgery and almost died. She was away from work and home for over 3 weeks.

Once she returned home and work, within a week or two, her father was rushed to the ER and hospitalized.

Despite it all she remains one of the most upbeat and inspiring people I know. I’d simply love for something really good to happen to her.

I would love to help a friend out that is recently married. She gives a lot of her time to volunteering and helping others. I would love to just be able to help her during this holiday season especially since her husband recently came back from deployment.

I would like to nominate my best friend Lindsey. We have been friends from day one when we met at an orientation for a company in 2004. Instantly I knew we would be friend for life. She is more than just a friend though, she is like a sister I never had and the reason I am the person I am today. She was there for me in 2005 when I was divorced, there in 2006 when my dad died, stood by my side as I married my husband in early 2011, and there for me when my mom died in 2011, and recently has been there for me as my husband and I have started fertility treatments. And not to mention on the little things in between!!! She never ask for anything or wants anything from anybody but ALWAYS puts others first. She is my biggest ‘cheerleader’ and motivator. She is the most giving and selfless person I know, and would give you the shirt of her back before you even had to ask for it. She went back to work last year after being a stay at home mom, wife, and nursing student for 6 years and rarely does anything for herself. She is more than anyone I know deserves a little special gift just for her and to remind her how important and wonderful she is to me. I can’t imagine my life without her!

My dear friend Jayne is having a very difficult time. She is recently separated and is currently out of work. She is helping to support her two grown children and all through it, is still the most giving person I know. She has done so much for me and our friends over the years, I would love to give this to her to give her some hope.

My mom has struggled to make ends meet all my life (34 years) she was a single mom, raising 5 kids, after leaving a very abusive situation. Although, we are all grown up living on our own, she still struggles with bills, food, etc. She has worked hard all her life, and really deserves one holiday without worries.

I would lilke to nominate my parents. They were severely injured in a car accident by someone who wasn’t paying attention. They other guy walked away, but my father was in the hopital for more than 6 weeks and will never walk without a cane again. This would go a long way in helping them with day to day needs. Blessings to whoever gets the gift!

I have my dad and step-mom (who is 44 years old). These past 2 years have been quite the roller coaster. She was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, clear cell ovarian carcinoma. The kicker to this type of ovarian cancer is that there is no “cure” for it. Most patients depending on how far along the cancer is they base the survival rate on 7 years.

In April 2011 (about 2 days before her birthday) is when she was diagnosed. She had 3 major surgeries over the next year and chemotherapy. The road was looking good again… and then she started having some pains. She went back to the doctor to find out that it, the “Big C”, was back. At this time it was April 2012 only a year later after the first diagnosis, again it was right around her birthday again!
She started a “trial treatment” shortly after and they seemed to be going good. They had 2 different water lines bust in their house within 2 days. The home owners insurance said they would only cover the 2nd one because the first one that burst, didn’t cause enough damage, but they still had to pay for there deductible. Amongst all of this stress that following week I took her to her treatment, that’s when she found out, she was kicked off the trial study… the drugs weren’t working. She has since had another surgery,

My son and his girlfriend have been living in my house and are expecting their third child in March. They will be moving out soon after Christmas and could really use the kitchen appliances to help them get started. The gift card would allow them to fund Christmas and save more for the move or vice versa use their own money on Christmas and use the card on the new apartment. Either way, it would be an awesome surprise for them!

I would love to see my moms face if she won!! She LOVES to cook!! She makes treats and dinners for people that can not cook for themselves. She has the biggest heart ! She sends food home with anyone who graces her home. She makes bigs meals for the holidays and welcomes anyone who needs a family for the holidays!! She has sacrificed all her life for everyone else and never a ask for anything in return. My parents live on a very tight income and they don’t get much for Christmas except what we get them. I would make her day and many other people’s also!! Thank you so much!!

I would love to win this for my little sister. She is a 19 year old freshman at Oklahoma State University and 2 weeks ago she had a stroke. She was life flighted to Tulsa after she started seizing in the ER. After several days in the ICU they determined it was a blood clot in her brain that ruptured and caused the stroke and seizure. Unfortunately, it was a freak incident caused by her birth control. This would be such a great gift to give her to help her get back on her feet. It would also be a great help for my mom, as you can imagine, life flight, ICU, and a hospital stay is not cheap. It would be a wonderful way to show her that I believe in her and believe that she will be able to get back in school and do well, in spite of what happened.

I would love to nominate my Mom. She lost her husband a few years ago and his children contested the will and it took everything she had to keep what he left her now she is about to lose the home he left for her (not paid for) She has tried very hard to keep the home they had together for just shy of 25 yrs, he passed away four months shy of 25 yrs of marriage to her. I wish I had the means to help her more financially but unfortunately I have severe medical issues and the medical bills are more than I can afford. I am going to be so sad to see her lose her home because she says she has no where else to go that would feel like home. I have offered her a place to live and have even tried to get her to sell that home before it got this bad, but unfortunately she can’t stand the thought of moving out of the home they made together. Winning this prize package would just make her year of hardship just a little better.

I would love for my mom to receive this gift. My parents divorced when I was 6 and she has been doing it on her own ever since. Our house has a creek that runs behind it. Over the past couple of years, the hill has slowly started to slip and she lives every day knowing that her house could fall into the creek at any minute. She has always been there for everyone else, including all of my friends while I was growing up. I’d love to spread a little good cheer her way.

My mother in law was recently divorced after a very difficult 30 year marriage. She is now barely making ends meet. I would pick my husband’s exwife to win. Crazy? Not so much. She is raising our grandson (my husband’s grandson & I guess I am the “step” grandma) on a fixed income. My husband’s daughter has choosen a path for her life, that does not include her son and a path that is uh…let’s say unhealthy for her too. My friend (yes, my husband’s ex is my friend) lost her husband, as he didn’t want to raise our grandson. She is on a very limited budget, but make sure our grandson comes first. We all work together to make sure he is happy and all his needs are met. She puts a little boy before herself, I am so greatful for her. It would be nice if she could do a little something for herself.

I would love to see my sister and her little boy win this prize! She lost her husband in a motorcycle accident a few years ago. She has been the greatest example to me! I have a friend that lives in High Point NC. About 6 years ago her husband had a massive heart attack and stroke they brought him back to life 10 times. He is just a vegatable now in a nursing facilty. They have four children and she has had to be a single parent that is not able to work herself. Times are VERY hard for her and her children. Now not only does she check on him she has to take care of her two aging parents, her father has had strokes and not able to communicate well or drive, her mother has parkensins (spelling?) and cant do much for herself either plus she takes care of their children, grammer school and middle school. She needs a break and this would be awesome for her. It would be a ray of sunshine in her world.

My good friends Jerry and Tracy Reiner run a Ministry called Project 52. They minister to the people of Jackson, Kentucky by providing them with food, clothing, gifts for the children at Christmas, and other needs throughout the year. They sacrifice daily to take care of the needs of others. Through their ministry they also serve people in other parts of Applachia and other economically disadvantaged parts of Ohio and Kentucky. They would be truely blessed to win this, as they are always thinking of the needs of others around them, and never giving a thought to thier own needs.

I would love for my sister to win this. She has 3 of her own kids plus has taken in 2 foster kids this year. Her husband is a youth pastor, so to say that their lives are busy is an understatement. With 5 kids, money is always tight and this would be a huge blessing to them as they raise these 5 precious kiddos.

I have a couple of friends I’d like to nominate but, since it’s only one prize, I’m going to have to choose one…SO HARD!

Elisabeth is a true Super Mom. After losing a child at birth, she went on to have a healthy little girl and life started feeling more normal. Not forgetting those who had walked in her shoes, she and her family started giving back to bereaved parents connected to the hospital where she’d delivered both her girls. A couple of years later, she gave birth to another special blessing- they knew she would be born with some heart defects but they weren’t prepared to find out she also had a chromosomal defect and other issues. This sweet child is a true miracle but she is currently fighting for her life at just over one year of age. Elisabeth has been faced with the sad possibility that this little girl may not survive her recent illness. Currently, they are spending their holiday season in the ICU of Children’s Dallas. They are doing what they can to make memories…

Elisabeth loves to cook and spend time with her oldest little girl (who is 3) in the kitchen. I think this prize would bless her and be therapeutic for her. The $500 gift card to Target would be a huge blessing as they have piles of hospital bills to wade through.

For those of you who believe in God, please pray for a miracle for this family so that this Christmas wouldn’t be marked by sorrow but by the joy of LIFE. Thank you.

I would like to nominate my dad and step-mom, I would absolutely love for them to get this! They both are such a positive, geniunely positive people and always have been before all of this and have managed to ALWAYS keep a positive outlook throughout this difficult time. My dad or my step-mom would NEVER ask for anything, they always feel that someone needs it (anything) more than they do.

Amongst all of this stress that following week I took her to her treatment, that’s when she found out, she was kicked off the trial study… the drugs weren’t working. My dad and her decided to get married before this last surgery because they really didn’t know if she would make it through. Since, she has had her last surgery (for now) and is doing radiation treatments.

I would like for my son Grant and his girlfriend Chelsea to receive the gift card. They just had their first baby, Amelia Mae. She was born with Gastroscesis, her intestines were outside of her body.the doctors were able to repair her little body, YAY! Now they will be sending her home. But they don’t have a home. They have been staying with friends while my son looks for work. Chelsea is working
, she went back to work when Amelia Mae was two weeks old. They do not have any diapers or baby clothes for Amelia. They live far away from me or they could live with me and my husband. I think my son just got a job but they don’t have money yet to buy a car seat or diapers. They would be very great full for the gift card!

A woman in our small group at church lost her husband to cancer a year ago. She has 3 children and if I win this we would love to bless her with this gift to brighten her day during this hard time. We don’t know her very well as we have just started to get to know her but she is a wonderful Godly woman who trusts in the Lord to help her as she raises her children to follow him. She sacrifices so much for them as she now is a single mom. I hope whoever wins this prize is greatly blessed.

My sister Casey has just started teaching in Jackson, MS which is 3 hours away from our home in north Mississippi. She is a wonderful teacher but is having a very tough year with her class, administration and being away from home. This is the first time her and I haven’t lived together in 22 years. She also just received a 4.0 in her first semester of graduate school while teaching full time. If anyone deserves this gift it is her. Thank you so much and Merry Christmas.

Hello. I would like to nominate my amazing and unbelievably strong mother. My little sister, my mother’s youngest daughter, was brutally murdered three years ago by one of her employees. My mom could have easily checked out on everything, but her strength and faith in God allows her to walk with this horrific tragedy with grace and love. She has continued to be a wonderful mother and more importantly, an ever-present and incredible grandmother to my and my older sister’s precious children (6 in all with one more on the way!). My daughter was very close to my little sister and I am eternally grateful to my mom for not allowing my daughter to lose her beautiful aunt and then emotionally lose her beloved grandmother. In the midst of the worst kind of family tragedy, we have been so blessed to have a strong, Christian role model in my mother! My parents do not have much and this giveaway would be such a special treat for the most special of human beings–my mom!

I would like to nominate my mom. About 3 years ago her employer of over 20+ years closed down the company. They did not offer a 401k or any retirement plan. Mom set out at age 62 to find a new office job. She struggled and struggled for the first year and had several interviews, but was not able to secure a job and finally decided to work at the temp agencies. She was working at an office for a temp position for a couple weeks when she fell on the way into her house after work and broke her foot. She ended up having surgery and the doctor said she would be off work for a very long time due to the injury. To be on disability you have to be injured for more than 2 years….which, actually will be the month of her 65th birthday…when she is actually eligible for Medicare. Until then she is covered under the Iowa insurance for $767/per month!!! Her SS is a little over $900 a month. She has had terrible luck…with her fall she also hurt her shoulder and cracked 1 rib. The rib has healed, but she still has pain in her shoulder and is only able to shuffle to walk because of the pain in her foot. I went Christmas shopping with her this past weekend, and she had to use the wheelchair and was just embarrassed that people would have to watch so she wouldn’t hit them with the chair (making them notice even more that she was “disabled”). My mom loves to cook for the family for the holidays, but is not able to stand much in the kitchen due to her foot. The appliances would be a BIG help to her, along with the gift card to purchase food with. Please consider my mom for this prize. I love her, she is a great mom and I hate to see her so down in the dumps this time of year. Thank you.

My cousin introduced me to your book and your site a few months ago. I was in my hometown where she lives taking care of my parents. My mother was hospitalized. My dad has dementia, and cannot be left alone. While my mother was in the hospital, my cousin brought my Dad and I some wonderful crock pot dinners from your book. She also came over the helped me deep clean their house. She and her husband hauled off limbs that had fallen in my parents’ yard. They went above and beyond and made our lives so much easier at such a difficult and sad time. And, my cousin is a ray of sunshine. She brings light and love wherever she is. When I think of that song, “They will know we are Christians by our love” I think of her.

I would love to enter my wife. She loves your website. And I love her cooking. My wife suffered numerous misscarriages. Failed invitro twice. She has only ever wanted to be a mom and make me a father. We have adopted five children. All of them were drug exposed and have special needs four came from foster care. We recently moved from California to Arkansas. She is away from her friends and family. These last few months have been so hard on her with the many issues of our children. Health issues and issues from the school. I work in Oklahoma, so she deals with all of this on her own. Right now she has absolutely no support system. She also works as an adoption coordinator, helping women who are in a crisis pregnancy and helping other families fulfill their dreams of having children. She is just an amazing woman I love her dearly and I know this would mean the world to her. All she talks about is not to get her anything but how she is trying to get gifts for all five children since things are a bit tight right now. The money we had set aside for christmas had to go to car repairs. This would mean the world to me as her husband for her to be surprised and given these things she loves cooking and being in the kitchen. Thanks for listening. Merry Christmas, Troy a devoted crocking husband and official taste tester.

I would love for my mom to win these amazing gifts! She is my rock. She just lost her job of almost 18 years due to a company closure. As a girl I have always remembered my mom working at least 2 jobs at a time. She works hard and tries to do for eveyone else. I am a single mom of 2 teenage boys and she still does all that she can to help me out. THere are times when I get home from work and she has come to my house and supper has been fixed for the boys and I. She calls it “surprise supper!” I would love to make her day! She so derserves it!!! :)

I would like to nominate my husband. He and I were married this May. He’s a wonderful man who loves me, and loves my four children as his own. Our family struggles financially- my ex is far behind on child support, my husband lost one of his two jobs earlier this year when the company shut down, I’ve been unable to find work, and two of our children have special needs and we have many medical bills. We do our best to create a happy home for our children, and I simply couldn’t do it without the love and support of this amazing man. I think he would love to win this prize as he’s an amazing cook! He used to work as a chef but now is great at making meals for our family, and he gets very creative with our tight grocery budget. I’m sure if he won the Target gift card he’d spend much if not all of it on things like clothing for the children and things needed for the house. Thanks for this opportunity to win such a generous prize.

I have a friend, Sue, who has always been there for me. She is not well and lives in a world of hurt, day after day. She takes me to the store, Dr appointments and even to get my hair cut. I also live on a small budget and can’t afford to pay her for all the times she takes me places. I no longer have a vehicle after my very old pickup could no longer be repaired to keep it running, she said to not worry about it she would make sure I would get where I needed to go. If I say I need to get a few groceries she is right here to pick me up. She could so use this, not only to help pay her back, but for her to just feel good and be able to shop for some of the things that she does without. Thank you so much.

I would like to nominate my daughter, Valerie, for this give away blessing. She is the most positive, bubbly person I know. She has two children that she is raising as a single mother, 4 yr old son and a 7 yr old daughter, who both are the sweetest children. Her son has been diagnosed with autism and her daughter lost her father when she was 2 years old. Valerie struggles to make ends meet paycheck to paycheck, but she never complains. She is a trooper! This giveaway would mean a very special Christmas for her family.

My best friend went through a horrible divorce about 3 years ago. Her husband was physically and verbally abusive, and his mind games and control issues continue to be a problem as they deal with custody issues for their 3 children. My friend currently has full custody but he is fighting her over every last detail. She lost her house this past summer and had to declare bankruptcy because he stopped paying his (court ordered) part of the obligation. On top of all of this, she lost her job as a dental hygienist and her parents have cut her out of their lives. She is trying to make a fresh start for herself and her children, but had to take a lower paying job to do so, as the hygienist market in our area is completely saturated. She always puts her children first and is doing the best she can. The holidays this year will be especially difficult with her lack of family support and lack of money. This gift would be a huge blessing to her.

My sister is a single mother of 3 girls 13,10,7… She never complains about not having enough she works hard has ALL her girls in softball. She NEVER does anything for herself always for her girls. Her youngest daughter’s father has not be around AT ALL and 1 week ago she was served papers in the morning on the way to work for child support, reduction and timesharing. She had to wait to drop her daugther off at school and then she was hysterical, of course because her youngest has no clue who this man is. So she had to hire a lawyer 3 weeks before Christmas, thus, eliminating ANY money she would have for her girls. My family will be buying her girls stuff to give from her, so she doesn’t have to worry about it, but I would LOVE for her to win this for herself!!!!

There are so many wonderful people leaving comments about their loved ones. That just goes to show what a great contest this is. I feel better about the holidays reading about all the generosity that is given to friends and family that I don’t even know. That being said……..I would like to nominate my sister. My sister battles with lots of medical issues and for the past year, she has been passing out with no warning. She has been out for as much as 2 hours. She has seen many doctors, but none of them have been able to provide a cause for her. She has had many concussions and bruises as a result of all the falling. I’ve encouraged her to try making her own food to see if that can help where medicine hasn’t. A crock pot would sure help her out. As far as someone needing a little more joy…… sister turned 40 this year and her husband is in a nursing home for alzheimer’s. She spends most of her free time there with him. Shopping can’t fix all that ails her, but it sure could give her a few moments of joy. I would love to see her face light up knowing that she won and knowing that I care enough to nominate her. Thank you Crockin’ Girls! You will make someone in this list of comments very happy. Merry Christmas to you and your adorable families!

Our good friends, Cindy & Chris Wessel and their 3 kids lost their house and it’s contents in a fire this past summer. They were able to salvage the shell of the home and thanks to sweat equity and good friends, they were able to move back into their home right before Thanksgiving. I know they are still struggling with the aftermath of the fire and even though it’s the same house, it still doesn’t feel like “home”. I think this give away could go a long way to making them more comfortable in the new surroundings and the Target card would allow them to fill in the blanks left by some still missing items!

I want to nominate my sister, Jackie (and her husband, Joe) Gallagher. They are hard-working people who own their own business, but it has really suffered in this economy over the past few years. In addition to this hardship, they are now supporting their son as he is in his first year of college at Liberty University in Virginia.

They both love to cook so the Bella appliances would be perfect and could definitely use the $500 Target gift card to help with a Christmas dinner and a few gifts. Thank you so much for the opportunity to WIN this giveaway for them!!!!

    Merry Christmas!

I would love for this to go to my husband’s cousin. She is a 35 year old Mom of two beautiful girls ages 10 and 7. She is a single Mom who just found out she has breast cancer. This courageous women has been working 2 jobs and going to school full time to pursue her B.S. in psychology. Yesterday she underwent a double mastectomy with full reconstruction. Once she is healed she will under go a minimum of 6 weeks of chemo as they found cancer present in her lymph nodes. I would for her and her girls to have this gift of a new crockpot for all her wonderful cousins to fill with great foods so she does not have to worry about feeling well enough to feed the girls. The Target gift card would be awesome for them to get any necessities they need and/or for girls to just have little fun to get something special. It is going to be a long road but she is a strong, determined woman who will beat this and this gift might just put an extra smile on her face.

My son’s high school English teacher is currently battling breast cancer. She has taken a leave of absence from teaching while undergoing chemo treatments. Despite the harshness of this disease and the treatments, she fights to stay strong and positive each day. We have all been inspired by her strong spirit and will to beat this cancer. Her students love her and miss her. She could definitely use a boost of Christmas cheer this year!

I would love for my daughter-in-law to win this contest. She and my son have 2 boys who add meaning to the phrase “picky eaters”. One of my grandsons was recently diagnosed with Autism so my daughter-in-law stays at home with him and is constantly running him to various therapy appointments. Helping them move into a larger home this past month I noticed how “sparse” her kitchen is in relation to cooking aids. I think this gift would help her and her young family for many years to come. My Autistic grandson loves being in the kitchen!!

My mother-in-law gives everything of herself and never asks for anything in return. Her health has not been the best lately and she lost her job last year because of program cut backs. She has been caring for our new baby during the day. She loves spending time with her granddaughter but financially it has been hard on them. With several family members going through health and life changes she is always first in line with a dish or casserole to bring to them in their time of need. She loves going through my recipes, including one’s I get from Crockin Girls. Food gets us through the rough times in life and brings family together. I have seen the toll this past year has taken on her and would like for a change to see her endless giving be returned.

This gift would be the biggest surprise and blessing in the world for my older sister who is going through a rough time in life right now. In the past she was raped in high school. She then tried turning her life around and ended up marrying whom she thought was a good man. Together they had two children, one who is autistic. My niece and nephew mean the world to me. Recently my sister was assaulted by her husband and is left alone with the two babies this Christmas with no money and unable to pay rent. All I want is for her to be happy and for those babies to be provided for. My sister is an amazing mother who loves to cook and take care of her family. She has struggled to get by and these gifts would mean the world to her. This would be such a blessing for her and her children.

Thank you for considering. Merry Christmas!

I believe my mom needs a bit of Christmas cheer this year. Last year right after Christmas, she lost her mother to cancer. This will be our first Christmas without my grandma, and I think it will be especially hard for my mom. This would make her day!

Our friends, Matt & Tasha, are enduring struggles financially due to wanting to stay together as a family. For the entire 2011-2012 school year, they lived apart so that she could keep her full time job as a copywriter while he went to school for engineering 1.5 hrs away. After that year, they realized their family needed to be together to be healthy. She resigned and they moved to the tiny apartment he was renting. She works her home based business, which is basically from scratch since she just moved there and knows only a few people, and takes care of their 5 yr old son at home with their daughter in school each day. He works nights and then goes to class all to come home and sleep and do it again. They need a beacon of hope and some definite Christmas cheer to help them continue on and keep pursuing their dreams. Things are super tight, which means Christmas will have much less sparkle for the kids and the unlikelihood of visiting any family. They are honest and hard working and aren’t looking for freebies & handouts but success! And they’re willing to endure to get there. Thanks for considering them!

I would like to nominate my friend Alisha and her husband Art. Art suffered a work injury about 1-1/2 to 2 years ago which limited his ability to work. Just over the summer he suffered a stroke which has caused numerous health problems and limited work ability even further. In addition Alisha has had leg injuries that has make it difficult for her to look after her husband. They have had a very rough 2 years and winning this would make their Christmas brighter.

I would like to nominate my friend and sister in Christ, Kathy Cadden, from Columbus, Mississippi. She does mission work helping people all over the world. If she had only three dollars to her name and anyone, even a stranger, came to her in need, she would give them all three of those dollars. Her expectation is that God will provide for her needs. She is the most giving person I have ever known. She continually, and I mean daily, gives to those more unfortunate than herself. This would really cheer her up and help lighten the load for her.

My friend L would be greatly blessed by this. They have had a difficult past year and have remained positive to the point that most don’t even know the financial strain they have been under. I always see them smiling and giving encouragement to others without adding their problems to the conversation. Her husband is in a line of work that he travels a lot and she not cares for their two boys (7 & 4) as well as homeschools them. Over the last year he worked almost exclusively for one client and did a great job. Due to the nature of the business, payment usually is held until the end of the season. The client has yet to pay him even though the season was over six months ago. Now he is without work because other potential clients had other people working for them last year and are continuing those contracts but he doesn’t want to continue his contract with the chance of not being paid again. They are finally at a place where he can take the client to court but that could take years to resolve. This has made their holiday very sparse but they don’t complain or even voice their troubles to many but instead look for others they can bless. Even with what little they have, I’ve watched them give food, rides and babysitting to others around them who are in similar situations but ask for nothing in return. They are not broadcasting their needs to others but merely accepting things that are offered to them. I know they will put anything they get towards getting things for the boys which means L will not receive a gift this year. Their love and selflessness has amazed me over the last few months and I think L would be an ideal candidate for this giveaway.

I try Im a sports mom and try to give them everything I can which is hard between work and school and everything else we live a busy life!! Im entering myself cause winning something like this would be wonderful for not just me but my boys this time of the year is the hardest for all of us financially and emotionally something special like this happening would be pretty great!!

I would love for my sister Jacci to win Big Give. 2 years ago she was in a serious accident which caused damage to her spine requiring surgery, as well as the drama from the accident activating MS. She has faces many challenges over the last 2 years. Due to the MS she will never be able to be an RN again, rendering her life career choice over at 41. Jacci’s family has faced many struggles with the loss of income and the added stress of the effects of MS. However she is a trooper! Carrying on as best she can still raising her 2 youngest kids, ages 8 & 9. She will never be able to drive long distances, her short term memory is gone and will deal with constant back pain even after the surgery. She is my very best friend and my hero <3

I would love for my daughter’s teacher from last year to get this. She is the most positive person to be around. I think God placed her in my life for me to learn from her. At the end of the summer this year she was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to have surgery the Friday before school started. I was blessed with the opportunity to substitute for her class that first week of school and again when she had to have a second surgery a couple of weeks later. She is now going through chemo and still continues to show that same positive outlook on everything she does. Some days are a struggle for her physically and I am sure mentally, but she has put on such a brave front and makes it through each day. With the work she has had to miss, I know it has made it a struggle at home. This would be a wonderful blessing for her and her family and I can’t think of someone more deserving. She is a dedicated mother, friend and teacher and we love her.

I would like to nominate my husband. Our family has been struggling for years and he asks for nothing. He gets up every single day and goes to a job where he isn’t even appreciated for all of his hard work (he’s basically doing two people’s job). He works 12-14 hour days for an employer who doesn’t give him any benefits, no health insurance, sick leave, nothing. Up until April of this year he was working two jobs, but lost his other job and has been looking for something ever since. He is the sole bread winner for our family, so that I am able to stay home with our son. Winning this would help lift his spirits tremendously. He literally just texted me before I got this email to enter about how it didn’t feel much like Christmas because we don’t have any family, no money and probably wouldn’t be able to afford a Christmas dinner. If he won, we could afford a Christmas Dinner and he could afford something he wants for change as well as some work clothes and boots that he’s in desperate need of. This would be a huge blessing! Thank you for considering him!

I’d like to nominate my sister Cindy and her family. My sister has a heart of gold, they struggle financially w/no jobs right now and barely making ends meet w/my brother and laws monthly social security check. They have a 15 year old daughter my niece Emily and unfortunately due to finances cannot ever buy her anything in the way of gifts ever, they cannot even afford clothing for her so unless the family or friends help she goes w/out. But in all of the struggle my sister has a heart of gold, she never complains about their situation, she has much joy in her heart and will help anyone she can when they are in need. She may be down to her last dollar and if someone is in need of it, she will w/out hesitation give it to them. They don’t have a car so they ride the bus and walk everywhere and she will ride/walk anywhere needed or wanted for her family, whether is be going to doctors w/her husband, going to the library for her daughter, if anyone needs her for anything she is there. She always puts herself last and others first, she never does anything for herself. Every bit of their kitchen stuff has been from someone handing it down to her. She would be beyond thrilled to have a brand new kitchen appliance and the gift card would mean the world to actually be able to give to her daughter would be the blessing of a life time!

The mother of one of my son’s teammates (and a dear friend of mine) has had a very difficult year. She has had to move in with her mother to escape an abusive husband and is now a single mother of 3 boys. She has always been a happy positive and uplifting person. Even when she is angry she fusses with a smile. She is the woman I aspire to be. I love her dearly and would love to bring some Christmas Joy to her life in this dark time of her life.

The holidays are a time of giving, and I love to give to others!! However, this year I find myself in tougher times than normal. I’m a single mom to the most amazing son and daughter. I work full-time, with a part-time waitressing job, and I also volunteer for our local fire department.
I struggle everyday just to put gas in my car and food on the table for the kids. Winning this would mean the world to us!!!

I need to nominate my husband. He has worked so hard our entire married life ((almost 11 years). He has worked 3 jobs at a time making ends meet, and we still struggle.

He also is a very kind loving husband and father. He married me knowing not only was I a single mom but a single mom that had a son with epilepsy. He adopted my son as his own as treats him as his own. He also takes care of our other 3 children and is so good with our daughter who is special needs.
My husband is the type of guy that will help others out no matter what. He’s an amazing man, who will do what it takes to make others happy.
I would love for him to win this, he deserves this for everything he does for our family and others!!!!!

My very best friend has a 30-yr-old autistic son who lives at home, and can sometimes be very difficult to manage. He breaks things when he gets angry, and then she must find the money to repair what he has broken. For example, he wants money or wants her do so something, and if she tells him “no” and they are in the car, he will reach over and break off the signal light indicator. She has had to replace that 4-5 times. She cannot have a computer at home because he “works” on it. Most days, he goes to Dayhab and she has time away from him, but there are times when he refuses to go, and she can’t force him. I think it would be a wonderful blessing and such a surprise if she could win this prize.

My baby sister and her little girl could really benefit from this giveaway. My sister got pregnant and had decided to give the baby up for adoption. The biological father was no where around once he learned of her pregnancy. She found an adoptive family and all she needed to finalize was to find the father and get him to sign off on the adoption. He refused to do so but didn’t understand that he would then be responsible for care of the baby if my sister still wanted to give the baby up. After many months, the baby was born and my sister decided that the right thing to do was to raise the baby instead of leaving the baby in limbo in the system until the father was to either come around and sign off on the adoption or the adoptive family decided to give up. Her daughter is now 7 months old and the father is still no where to be found. My sister has become such an amazing woman and mother through all of this. Her strength and courage was amazing through all of this. I would love for my sister to be able to buy her little girl all the things she deserves for her first Christmas. Thank you for letting me share my story.

I would like for my mother to win this!! She is always there to help me whenever with whatever I am needing. She retired from her civil service job, where she loved helping our soldiers with whatever need they had. She is now a live in caretaker for her mother, my 86 year old grandmother. She would give the shirt off her back to help me, my kids… really she would help anyone who needs her help.

Thank you for doing this for some lucky person. I am sure if it is not my mother who wins, it will be someone who deserves it just as much.
Merry Christmas to you all – Blessings!

I know a mom-of-two who is struggling more this season than anyone I’ve known. Filing for bankruptcy, keeping utilities paid, and just trying to keep enough food in the house to make it through. The last thing she can afford is gifts for her girls. (She’s also no whiz in the kitchen, so learning to crockpot could also be a lifesaver). I hope you choose my friend! If not, I’m sure you’ll choose someone who’s just as much in need as her. I wish you and everyone a Happy Holiday! Cheers to a New Year ahead!!!! We could all use some good luck!

I would like to nominate my friend Stacy. We have been friends for over 10 years now, and her oldest daughter is our god-daughter. Stacy has 2 more children, and unfortunately all of Stacy’s children inherited her rare eye disease, where they are burdened with thick and very expensive glasses, and ultimately have to have expensive eye surgery. This has worn on Stacy, leaving her feeling guilty for passing this eye disease to her children. Needless to say, there are times when money is very tight, especially when all three children need eye glasses and treatment at the same time. This gift would be such a blessing for her and her military husband!

I want to nominate a friend who has lots of burdens on her shoulders. Her husband is bedridden most of the time but does use his wheelchair some during the day. She is in the hospital herself this week for surgery and will have to be out of work for several months for recovery.

Her daughter, son-in-law and 8 mo old daughter has lived with them for several years. Son-in-law was injured on his job several months ago and still not able to work. He took a low settlement ($2,000) from the company because they needed the money so badly and it is all gone.

Then last month my friend’s disabled brother and his wife lost their home and she let them move in also as they had no money and nowhere else to go.

My friend is the only breadwinner in the household and money is very scarce with not much of a Christmas for anyone. If my friend was the winner it would be such a joy for not only her but everyone in the household too as all would benefit from such a blessing.

Thank you and God bless you all for the blessings you will bestow on the lucky winner of this Christmas Blessing Giveaway. It seems so many people are so deserving of your wonderful gifts.

I would love for my mother to receive this. My mother has been caring for her mother for a few years now. My mom needs some holiday cheer. She has been through so much in the last year. She lost her mom a couple months before she got married last year. Then she had some medical problems and during on of the medical procedures she got a blood clot in her arm that has caused nerve damage. She is unable to work and is just discouraged cause she can’t find a doctor that can help her. She is the best mother and grandmother!!

My beautiful (inside & out) friend, Nicole, was in a car accident this summer, hit by a utility truck while driving with her 3 young children & their babysitter. After months of pain & physical tharapy, she just underwent shoulder surgery. It hasn’t gone without complications, & doctors are telling her that she will most likely be undergoing hip surgery in the near future as well. I recently came through a difficult pregnancy, during which she was an amazing encouragement~ organizing meals for my family & offering to help in many different ways. I would LOVE this chance to be a blessing to her in return! I look forward to her recovery, so we can get back to having fun in the kitchen together, preparing meals for our families!

I have a friend that is separated from her husband and has 4 children; 4th grade and younger. She is sending them all to a Christian school. She was a stay at home mom and relied on her husband to provide. So right now she has nothing to live on.
She is a great christian mom that makes sure her kids are getting a good education and attend church and Sunday school on a regular basis. Her and her kids are so deserving of this.

I would love to win this for my friend, Tiffany. She has 3 of her 4 children living at home with her and is divorced. She lives with her mother and 2 of her siblings. She can’t work due to health issues. Recently, she just put an offer in for a home of her own. She is so scared of this whole moving process because every time she figures a budget, she has trouble fitting food into her budget. She really is in need of some new appliances for her new home.

I would love to give some holiday cheer to my co-worker, Carleen. She is a single mother of an adopted daughter. She provides the best life that she can, but never seems to be able to get ahead. I would love for her to be able to “splurge” a little at Target on herself as she always puts herself last. Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!

I would like to nominate my brother Wayne. Years ago he was on top of the world. He was a builder and his business was thriving. After the “bubble” burst, he lost everything. His home, furniture, tools, and even his business after the theft of funds by an employee. He is still having to deal with lawsuits as a result of this. He was in a very bad way for a couple of years, but he is now getting out of his slump and is ready to rebuild. I think this would be so helpful for him.

There’s a family at my youngest daughter’s school who is struggling to put food on the table for their family. It would mean a great deal if they could not only win the appliances but also the Target gift card in order to purchase much needed groceries and socks for the children. There are 3 children in the family – ages 5, 4 & 7 months. The parents are struggling and doing the best they can. This gift would certainly make a wonderful Christmas present for the entire family

My sister, Ruth, sustained a lot of damage in Hurricaine Sandy. Her basement flooded about 5 feet with sewage. She had to replace her washer/dryer, furnace, and hot water heater, and they had to throw out much of their stored materials. Insurance covered none of this, including the cleanup. While FEMA did give them some money, they are very much cash strapped, as my son, her godson, is getting married next week, and they had submitted their retirement papers last month. These prizes would go a long way in helping to replace her lost items.

I have a wonderful husband. We have been helping one of our children thru our entire marriage. Our son-in-law was laid off his job and they have 2 small boys. We have been helping them financially for months. He finally found a job and will get his first check 12-15! Praise the Lord! We have always put their needs first and have helped all four of our kids at one time or another. We are glad that we can. It has put us in a bind financially and we helped buy their Christmas gifts from Santa and mom and dad, but we are not in a position to buy them from us. My husband would love the appliances, too. He is the cook in our home, except the crockin’ is my game! Thanks and Merry Christmas to you all!

My story is for me ….. I am a mother of 5 wonderful children and a wonderful fiancé . I work very hard to provide for them . My fiancé has been laid off for the last 15 months so the only income coming into our home is from me being a hairdresser. I would love to win this giveaway to give our kids a great Christmas because as of right now we don’t know how we will do it :-( . we struggle every month on paying the bills and putting food on the table but at the end of the day my kids are happy and that’s all that matters to me .

I’m one of 5 girls. This is a blessing and a pain in the butt all wrapped into one! My second oldest sister Leah has been down on her luck. She is a recovering alcohlic, and she has just found the strenght to get out of a very abusive relationship. She has lost her job and is facing Christmas time with 3 kids. I wish I could give her the world, but I’m a working momma myself and my budget won’t allow much help. I think this would be a miracle for her and my sweet nephews and niece. She could use the gift card and since she walked away from her home she has NOTHING. so those appliances would look great in a new home for her and the kids. She deserves the world.

My friend Rachel and her husband and son have struggled financially since their marriage 10 years ago. Shortly after they were married, his job was eliminated, followed by short-term work with no benefits and no security. Their son’s birth led Rachel to committing to working from home. Her husband’s work opportunities dried up in Minnesota, causing them to have to give up their home and move back to Alabama to live with her parents. His age and high education level and high management experience actually proved a liability in his job search, leaving him unemployed and underemployed, doing whatever work he could find as a carpenter. That work was not profitable, however. A job in the Destin, FL, area was offered to him last year. They moved there and are proud to be able to pay their own bills, barely. Rachel’s heart is to leave her work-from-home job and do more creative work. She’s an amazing talent, sewing beautiful bags and clothing and taking amazing photographs. They’ve sacrificed so much, often having only $20 to spend on their son’s Christmas gift.

My heart aches for them. I wish so much to be able to help them more. I would love to call her and tell her she has this wonderful prize waiting for her.

    hey crockin girls
first i want to say this is a great website and i love your recipes :)

My first thought was doing the giveaway for me , laid off work – but i go back in january to my regular full time job, husband laid off work, he has a seizure disorder which we cant get under control he has not been able to find a new job ( laid off after 24 yrs with the same company) since the medical condition he has its very hard to get hired in the construction field, he is a strong man and wants to work to provide for his family, he has not been able to drive his vehicle in 4 yrs due to the seizures so the weight of the world lies heavy on my shoulders as i have to do all the driving to doctors and testing he needs done i am forever at the pharmacy picking up medicines for him and helping apply for jobs taking him to every interview he can get and employment agencies , its been a frustrating time for the family , my daughter has been the one that has helped us through these hard years and caring for him and has helped take care of him after the seizures and out of the hospital especially when he fell and broke 3 ribs due to a seizure and then a year later he fell from a seizure and fractured his L4 in his back, my daughter works one job and is looking for another one to help the financial burdens so she can be more self sufficent so i would like to be able to give these amazing gifts to my daughter then we can have coffee together and cook in the crock pot together, if it had Not been for our daughter helping out and taking care of him i would have not been able to work and keep the bills paid , sara is only 19 now and has shown compassion and love for her step dad and been there to help him through all of this

My friend Mic is in need of these appliances along with the Target Gift card. His divorce was final last week and was left without these items among other things. He has 3 children who would also greatly benefit from your generosity.

My daughter is a single parent of 2 small little girls, ages 3 and 6 . She has been unable to find a job, is not getting child support, and had to move in with me, and I’m disabled, to be able to survive. She loves to bake for her children. It would be wonderful if something good could happen to her for a change.

One of the gals I walk with has been dealing with her husband’s layoff and subsequent hip surgery for the past year.

Well, to make matters worse, she was laid off from her job as well over a month ago. Now, she and her husband are both unemployed which has never happened in their lives up to this point in time.

They are both actively seeking and hoping to find employment in 2013.

I would like to nominate my children. It has been a very rough year for my family. I am a single mother of three great kids and have had my work hours cut by half this year due to medical issues. I have had to miss out on some of their events, games, etc as well as just not being available for them as I would like. Due to the reduced working, the household income has been cut in half. Just buying necessities ( soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper) has been hard. This is going to be a very small Christmas for us, and while they say they understand, it would be great to have a few extra surprises under the Christmas tree for them.

I would love to nominate my family. We are having a difficult year. My daughter has been sick since May and we have been to doctors and specialists and they can’t figure out what’s going on. She was in the hospital in June and still has problems. My husband is a veteran and has been having issues also, but the VA doesn’t want to help him. He is trying to get a better paying job because we just barely get by on his paychecks and he works so hard to provide for us. I would love for him to be able to relax a little this Christmas and this would really help. The giftcard would pay for groceries and a few fun things. Thank you!

MERRY CHRISTMAS CROCKIN’ GIRLS! We have been blessed to be healthy, and although I know it has to be extremely hard on my mom sometimes, she never shows it, and she is the most amazing woman & role model I could have ever asked for. I would love something good to happen to her, to show her that good things happen to good people. She has been subscribed to yall since you first launched your web site. God bless you & your families!

I have been married for 30 years to the most wonderful man on earth! However, I am of the opinion that at the 25 year mark we should get another “bridal shower” of sorts to spruce up the kitchen gadgets! So, I am 5 years behind!

Actually, I would give the goodies to my son and his bride-to-be for a wedding gift in March! So excited for them and she is a lovely girl!

I am hoping for this for one of my sisters. She has never had an easy time of life. Her first husband went to prison. When she finally married again, after 20 years together he trieto kill her then shot himself. She almost died and there was one friend that took care of her for several years after that and they fell in love. She was with him for about 10-15 years then he died of MS. In that time she was taking care of our mom who died in 2001. After her husband died she moved back here t home and has been taking care of our invalid sister and a friend that lives with them too. She has been taking care of people for years with no rewards other than gratitude. She is getting really tired lately and I wish for her to have something to really cheer her up this year.

Hi, my wife doesn’t know I’m nominating her for this but she truly deserve it. Our daughter xcellence was born at 27 weeks 1 pound 3 ozs. And 10 inches long. She stayed in the hospital for 3 months and my wife never left her side. My wife Lonnie has been working with our daughter ever since she was release from the hospital. She had to quit her job to take care of our lil tinker bell xcellence. She loves to cook and shop but by her having to quit working she hasn’t had time or money to do both and especially working with baby with all her appointments . I think she can really use some Christmas cheer this year. May God bless thank you

My daughter and I have been apart since she was about 5. Her dad took her to another state and the contact was not good. About a year ago I found her on Facebook and tried to get back into her life. Thank goodness her boyfriend suggested that she “friend” me and that started the ball rolling. To my excitement she was pregnant and I was going to be a grandma for the first time. She was having some legal problems and was in jail when she was about to give birth. I flew to Las Vegas where she was and my girlfriend and I tracked down what hospital she was in and after a week of getting the run-around I was finally able to hold my grand daughter Skyler. I also got to see my daughter for the first time in many many years via a monitor but I got to see her none the less. She is starting her life over and headed in the right direction and including me and the family she really did not know she had. I would love to be able to give her something to help her and Skyler get a fresh start to what will be a great life for both of them. I hope you will help me out. Thank you for the chance!!

My mom could use an unexpected blessing. She is an amazing woman, mother and friend. She is disabled and lives on very little money. My husband and I help her when we can. She loves to give to and do for others, that is what truly makes her happy. She is that person that finds a sliver lining in every single cloud! This would be an awesome gift for her to win. Thanks!

I am writing on behalf of my wife who I truly feel deserves this wonderful surpise. My wife worked full time, raised three boys, and still managed to complete her master’s degree. She never missed cooking a hot meal for our family even when her schedule was so hectic (thank goodness for our crockpot !!!). Karen never does anything for herself and is always putting everyone else first. She has supported me when I had to leave my job to help care for my mother following a stroke. Karen is one of the most unselfish people I know. It would be such a wonderful way to surpise her for her wonderful attitude and support. Please help me show my wife that her unconditional love and support of others does pay off.

I would like to nominate my husband. He is patient and kind enough to be “Mr Mom” and take care of our children and home so I can maintain my job. My job requires travel, fly out on Monday/home on Friday. This provides our income and benefits. We reversed roles after him serving in the military for 17 years. He keeps things normal and maintains the home, school, sports and extracurricular events for our 3 children age 11,15,19 and our 2 year old granddaughter. This summer due to a severe medication reaction we were unaware of he developed amnesia and short term memory loss along with PTSD. He woke up one morning thinking he was heading out for a military mission and took off walking. Thankfully with the fast action of your children and the help of our neighbors and community he was found; located 16 hours later after putting in over a 42 mile road march. He has worked hard with his doctors, specialists and occupational therapists to find his new normal. I have to continue working especially for the health care benefits. His diagnosis is very rare for a 41 year old and neurologists are looking at starting some of the alzheimers meds to stimulate his memory and brain function. He keeps a day planner with him at all times reminding him those every day tasks he needs to do such as laundry, cook, get kids up for school, etc and uses his planner, cellphone alarm and GPS to get the kids where they need to be. I know he gets discouraged and feels like he has let our family down since he is no longer bringing in an income; this gift card and appliances would be a great gift for him to reward him for being the best husband, dad and grandpa! We know he may never get his memory back and we are ok with that as long as we have him!

I would love to spread some holiday cheer to one of my sister’s. She has always had a hard time grasping concepts that may come easy to a lot of people but has still fought to understand. While pregnant with her daughter in 2005 she lost her job and has not been able to find a replacement since. Her husband has been the breadwinner but even that is not enough for them to make it. They must rely on family to get by and are in the process of being foreclosed on. This surprise would make a world of a difference for her and her family. Thanks for being so giving Crockin’ Girls!

I would love to win!!!!! This would come in handy with 13 year old twins who are involved in everything and a husband who works away from home it is nice to be able to put dinner in the crockpot and come home from work/school and activities and have dinner waiting for us! Plus the house smells so good and homey when using the crockpot!!!! Plus I could always use a GC from target :)!

I would love to win this for my husband. He has just been told that his Diabetes is no longer under control. WE need to reevaluate what we eat and how we cook our food. A new crockpot would help, along with the other appliances, and the Target gift card will be great for him to buy new clothes as he loses those unwanted pounds.
I have your cookbook, and have bought them for my daughter & daughter-in-law & we really enjoy

I would love to see my sons girlfriend to win this. She is a wonderful girl she lost her mom when she was a teenager and she has pretty much been on her own. She lived 50 miles from our hometown and decided to move here after getting a new job. She rented an apartment and did not have the furniture to even put in it or the money to buy any. She borrowed a air mattress from me and has picked a few things up from the curbs that people have put put for the trash. She doesn’t have any dishes to cooking pans other then what we have given her or she got from goodwill. She is a full time student and is currently working part time as a waitress she barely makes her rent and bills and this would help her to at least get some personal items for herself and her apt.

I would like to nominate my parents, they are both very special! They have some financial problems and are worried about not being able to get their grand kids anything for Christmas this year! We told them not to worry about it, but they still do. I even told the I would buy a toy and write that it is from them. They are very giving and involved in their church where my mom & dad created a club to help and feed the widowed woman of his church by buying them groceries and helping them with anything around the house… Like cutting their grass, washing windows etc. I think this would be a great gift for them so they can catch up on some bills and buy anything they may need. Thank you ;)

My son who was divorced last Feb. and a single dad with 2 young sons, could sure use this lovely gift. Working and raising two young boys is hard, but fulfilling job. These new kitchen appliances and the gift card would make things just a little easier. He loves to spend time with the boys in the kitchen cooking everything to a simple breakfast to working up a batch of fresh salsa. Being able to splurge on the boys with a Target Gift Card would make a great end to a really rough year .

I would like to nominate my friend Marla Newman. She, along with her daughter Natalie, have befriended my daughter. My daughter transferred to a different school district this fall & Natalie along with some other sweet girls welcomed my daughter to the school. Marla, who is a single mom, was laid off about 3 weeks ago. No job = no money = lots of stress. Last week on Monday, Natalie gathered all the girls in their group together & she informed them that they just found out she has thyroid cancer. Junior in high school, very active at school & in her church & now has cancer. This would help them tremendously. Merry CHRISTmas. Blessings on y’all!

I am a disabled 40 years old women with a rare mitrocondria disease which has now put me in a wheelchair at this point. They have told me that there is no cure and I will just basically live this way for the rest of my life. I have 3 children and we are living just off my social security disability trying to make ends meet. I had lost all hope until recently….. a friend of mine who has ALS, had told me about a company that sells vitamins in liquid form that you can only get through this company (and that is me just putting it in a nut shell) . This friend also told me about this doctor that has been treating her with different types of “alternative treatments”. She swears that without the treatments and the vitamins, that she would definitely be in a wheelchair by now or dead! If you know anything about ALS, you would know that it is a deadly disease.well, to make a long story short, she has me hooked up with the Very expensive vitamins which she has given me a whole months worth for free because she spoke with some of the “big wigs” of the company about me and my disease and that there is NO POSSIBLE WAY THAT I COULD NOT AFFORD ANYTHING. The company sent her a FREE months supply to give me to try! Also she spoke to the “alternative doctor “the about me and he called me right away and explained his treatments, how they work etc…and all about the supplements that go along with his treatments and then he told me the costs of all of this. I was blown away when he told me how much his treatments and supplements cost! I explained that there is absolutely NO way I could afford ANYTHING! He understood completely and suggested that I seriously should consider that I have someone starts a fundraiser for me because he is positive energy that he can help me be the person I was before I got sick and that I would not be in a wheelchair and in pain 24/7 for the rest of my life. I thanked him and said I would start to talk to some friends about putting a fundraiser together for me because for the first time since I became sick in 2007, I finally have HOPE! A few days later I received a phone call from the doctor and he told me he couldn’t get me off his mind and that even though a possible fundraiser was in the future for me but that I needed his help NOW! Then he told me he wanted to treat me for FREE!!!!! I couldn’t believe what I was hearing! Nobody has ever offered to help me or given me an ounce of HOPE! The only thing that he said is I would have to pay for the supplements because Those did not go through him. Well I could not afford the 400 a month For the supplements And the vitamins But my mother in law and mother have Offered to help me By paying for the vitamins until we can get a fundraiser together. I am blessed finally to have hope and for somebody to actually care enough to want to help me get out of a wheelchair and not have to live The rest of my life In pain and not able to walk! I CAN be super mom again 1 day, I know I can now!!!! So if I were to win the contest I would immediately go online and buy my children some Christmas presents this year! Sorry if this sounds like a pity story but this is the truth of my life that I live right now. But hopefully not forever! Warm regards and happy holidays to all! Momma Pear

Any extra help this holiday seasonwork be so appreciated! I realize everyone has needs and I do my best to make sure my pateint have the care they need and my family has what they need; but working 6 shifts that are 12 hours a night is really adding up and becoming taxing! It wouldbe great to have one thing for me! Might sound selfish but I am getting tired and don’ t see an end in sight. Help wouldbe greatly appreciated!

A Coworker of mine recenlty lost her oldest son in a very tragic accident. He left behind his girlfriend and baby girl. The baby is what makes it a little easier for her to get through each day. She is so strong and always smiling! She is one of those people that has awful things happen to her all the time but she never stops smiling and doesn’t let it ruin her life. Even after losing her son, two months later she still walks around smiling and putting everyone before herself.
Two years ago her youngest son was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 13 and that has been tough as well. He is 13 and doesn’t like to take his incilins and she constantly has to monitor what he eats. Insurance has been a battle getting his meds and finding the money to pay for them. Her oldest daughter started college this year and moved out of the house. Did I mention she also has two step sons that she is helping raise.
She enjoys baking cakes, cupcakesand they are very amazing. She puts so much into them, time, love and truely makes them special for whomever they are for.
I know my coworker could use the Christmas blessing especially this year.

My story of survival began in December of 2007, when I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 44 years old. With no family history of the disease, I knew very little about breast cancer. I guess you can say I am now history! I went for my routine mammogram (like I have always done) in December, then I got the call at 5:00 that night, we need you to come back in for more pictures and possibly an ultrasound. Okay, I did, then the radiologist looked over the ultrasound, didn’t like what he saw. Okay, again, I thought. He said I want to schedule a biopsy. We went for the biopsy, immediately the reaction from Dr. Wichterman, was not good. I remember on the drive home with my husband, thinking in my head “Cancer” wow…. When you get told you have cancer (as for me breast cancer) you think your life is over(that runs thru your head), but I thought that for a second and then my frame of mind changed, I need to be here for my family and I am going to fight it, no matter what it takes.….my life has been so blessed with so many family and friends supporting and cheering me on. Look at me I am living proof! I am a 2nd time survivor, and God blesses me everyday with my family, friends and most of all FAITH!. The Dr. called Christmas Eve and confirmed, what I already knew in my mind, I know you are all thinking on Christmas Eve, I was glad to hear it on that day, because I could concentrate on celebrating Christmas without worry. I was Stage 3 and it was in my lymphnodes…Immediately after New Years,I felt like I was on a ride at Six Flags, diagnosis, surgery was scheduled for a masctecomy and lymphnodes removed, chemo and radiation. I was on a ride that changed my life forever. I lost my hair, but to my surprise, did not feel sickness. All thru this, I knew I had to stay positive because my concern wasn’t with me it was with my son, who was experiencing something far worse than me, he was at battle overseas, while I was at battle in the United States. ( As the video showed). We were able to communicate via chat and keep each other’s spirits up. I reached out to a friend, Kim Meadows Althoff, (who has now passed on because of this terrible disease.) I asked her questions and she helped, also her bubbly spirit with this disease made me feel better.

Fast forward 4 years…….my routine mammogram on the one and only breast I had left. They did the mammogram….whew that was over, went to the store, felt fine, was like the little blue smurffette….singing La, la, la, la, la la, and when I didn’t get a call that night as previously 4 years ago, I figured I was in the clear. BAM… not so, I got an early call the next day, it was Mary Jo, who I have come to know so well and a very awesome mammogram lady. I said Mary Jo, why are you calling me….well she said, we need more pics, again, I just knew it was not good. I went there and after more pictures, then they wanted an ultrasound, at this point, I started telling them….I know this can’t be good, this is what I want,(because this wasn’t my first rodeo) I told them who I wanted to do the biopsy, who I wanted to do the surgery, I wanted it all done on Friday….. turns out this one was caught in time….Stage 1 and no lymph nodes, so back into the surgery room to have my last mastectomy. (By the way I had a shirt made, that says, these are fake, because my real ones tried to kill me.) I am now able to pick out any size of prosthesis I want……(I see that as a plus.) Which I try to see so many positives out of this terrible disease. Then, I thought I am good, I won’t need any treatment, wrong on that one, we did several testing and the test came back 50/50 that I was borderline chemo, that I needed to probably do this as a preventative, so it doesn’t come back somewhere else incurable.

I am not going to lie, I did not want to do it again, but I thought of I need to be here for my family, I will do this. So I am now finished with my 4th round of chemo, I have two more to go and after 6 weeks of healing, will be heading back into surgery to have a full hysterectomy, I told them I don’t want it coming back and having to do this again. I even said take everything, but leave my heart, lungs and bladder! I am not going to lie, it has been harder this time, maybe with age, maybe with the extra shot I have to take, but I try not to dwell on the bad………..I stay positive (granted I am not perfect), but I walk into that chemo room, and you listen to those peoples stories…………my story and journey cannot compare to what I have heard over these last years.

My goal after being diagnose the first time, was to be of comfort and help with someone else going thru a hard time. Get out there and help and be an ear or give a hug. Very Rewarding!

What an amazing and beautiful thing you are doing. I would love to nominate my sister. She has experienced an extremely difficult divorce that has left her with absolutely nothing. She was left in bankruptcy and is working 3 low paying jobs just to try to support her children. This is a mom who works her tail off and just can’t get ahead. Because of foreclosure on her house she is now facing eviction and has not found a place she can live based on her income and it is taking a toll on her health and her mental well being. Of course she knows in her heart that we are not going to let her be homeless and we will be there for her no matter what, but the sense that she can’t do it is really hard for her especially at this time when she can’t afford to buy presents for her children for Christmas. My heart breaks as a sister to see this once confident and strong woman fighting despair and anxiety as her world suddenly turned upside down. I would love to see a piece of brightness for her in this season.

I am going to toot my own horn today! I would love to win this as raising 5 kiddos and Co -parent to 11 others, running a daycare, I cook 3 meals a day and could put all of the bella appliances to great use. The target gift card would be used to improve my daycare so that I could make this holiday extra special for all the childrens and families lives that I can enrich everyday for many years to come. Please consider me in this amazing giveaway and know that I will be forever grateful.

Heather works at a daycare and recently had a baby boy. She sleeps on an air mattress on the floor of her apartment. Winning this contest would give her a gigantic lift… she would be able to purchase much needed items for the baby and she can use the appliances in her small apartment. Thank you for doing this!

Where to begin? My youngest brother graduated college last May with a degree in marketing. He has been unable to find a job. His lack of experience is what has kept him from being hired. Unfortunately, how do you gain experience when no one will hire you? He is now looking for anything but the process is so painfully slow. He has maxed out his forbearance with Sallie Mae and needs to begin paying back his loans next month. This is causing him and my parents much stress. How can you pay for your student loans if you don’t have an income? My heart breaks for him as he is struggling to stay positive but after a while rejections really start to wear on anyone’s ego. He’s depressed. He just needs one thing in his life to go right. I wish there was more I could do to help him. To make him happy again even if for just a brief moment. He needs this.

My best friend has 2 year old twins and her and her husband have been living off one income. Both of her twin girls are on the spectrum for autism and she cannot work due to the in-home therapy both girls require. She can use all the help she can get! And I have always wished I could do more for her than just provide an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on. I would love to give her the world, but if I could at least give her this, it would be fantastic!

My mother is the most deserving person that I know. She sacrifices everything for her family and is the most unselfish person that I have ever met. She has raised a grandchild with downs syndrome since he was a toddler. He is now 33. She is also raising a great-grandchild who has severe cerebral palsy who is 14. This fall my family laid one of my brothers (age 55) to rest after a short battle with lung cancer. Last week, a short three months later, one of my sisters (age 50) died due to complications from a stroke. The loss my family has suffered is great but she keeps her head up and continues to keep our family strong. Everyone in my family could use some extra cheer this holiday season, but my mother is the most deserving of us all.

I would love to see my son, Tyler, win this. Tyler is 19, and going to college out of town. He has a full-time schedule at the community college, works 20 hours a week at an internship, and also works 8 hours a week at a retail job. He rooms with 2 other kids in a condo, pays all of his bills and rent on time, and forgoes a lot of fun stuff because there is no extra cash. He is a good kid, hard working, and is planning on going to UC Davis next year. The best part about Tyler? He has never once asked for money from us, although I KNOW he could use it. $500 at Target could buy the kid a lot of laundry soap and toothpaste!

I would love for my parents to win this. Just when they think they finally have the house to themselves and all the kids have moved out, they take in my sister and nephew. They always have done great things for us to make sure we were always provided for and now they really are helping out my sister with her child. My nephew loves being there with them and my sister and they make sure he is well provided for. They take care of him when my sister is at work and spoil him rotten and at the same time my mom also babysits another grandchild, who is just as spoiled. They are great and I would never ask for anything and it would be a great shopping spree for them.

I almost lost my 73 year old mother in a terrible car accident last year. She was in a coma for 3 months and the doctors had given up on her. Then, around Christmas time last year, my mother came out of the coma and became my Christmas Miracle. She had to learn everything all over again and is in some ways as a little child now. I would love to be able to carry her shopping and let her pick out what my Christmas Miracle wants.

My sister and her husband are not in good health, he had to have heart surgery and what should have helped him has not at all, they should have put a pump in and didn’t . They have no health insurance because he was self employed installing flooring. He has not been able to work after the surgery and it has now been 7 months! He still has not received disability. They have received food stamps, but it doesn’t help with all of their bills, I’m so scared they will lose their house, we try and help as much as we can, but it is never enough. It is really sad especially during holidays.

I work a lot and I work 12 hour shifts, on a 3rd shift job. This keeps me away from my family a lot. My wife owns her own business and has recently lost 2 of her 4 clients. This 50% reduction in income has hit our family extremely hard. Especially, this close to the holidays. We are credit card free, but still live paycheck to paycheck.
Our 20 year old daughter understands that she will not get presents this year, because we must buy for our 5 year old daughter. With that being said, my oldest daughter attends college and needs some household items. We could definitely use the gift card and appliances. I would then be able to buy presents for both of my daughters as well as my wife.

I would like to nominate my son Chase and his wife Lauren. They have two beautiful children that they are doing an amazing job of raising. They do this on a very tiny budget, my son works in a warehouse and doesn’t make much money, while my daughter in law stays home with the kids. I am amazed how they make it on so very little. But they do and don’t ask for help. I would really like for them to win this so they can have a great Christmas.

I have a friend whose family is going through a very difficult time. Her little girl was recently diagnosed with cancer. Her little girl, unfortunately found out on her 3rd birthday that she had a Wilm’s tumor on her kidney. The tumor was too large to remove initially so they had to do several months of chemo in order to shrink it enough to remove it. She had surgery a couple of months ago to remove the tumor and one of her kidneys. Currently she is going through chemotherapy and radiation to be sure that all of the cancer is gone. She will be doing chemo until at least late April 2013. Her mom is an Elementary School teacher and is of course having to take off for an extended time. As you can imagine the cost of traveling 140 miles to Children’s Hospital at least twice a week, numerous hospital stays, and a reduced income is becoming quite a financial burden. This only adds to the stress she already has of worrying about her little girl’s health. I just feel that this family is most deserving of some holiday cheer and I would love for them to be considered for your Give Away. If nothing else, please keep this precious child in your prayers. Thank you!

When Hurricane Sandy caused a 4-day power outage in Ohio, Amanda, 21, a single mom trying to care for her 6-month-old baby, Joey, they lost all the food they had. She couldn’t afford to replace it: with her boyfriend (and baby’s father), 28, laid off from his landscaping job at Thanksgiving, and their baby suffering protein allergies and on a type of formula that was $30 a can, the young couple knew they needed help. They turned to food assistance–and their families. Amanda, her mom says, doesn’t ask for anything, not even a haircut; her mom and grandma help her right now with the tiny apartment’s utilities and car insurance. “It’s a little embarrassing to ask for money to cover deodorant, shampoo and tampons,” Amanda’s mom, Michele, says. Things like kitchen appliances are something most of us take for granted—“I’ll just make some chili and let it simmer all day”– but for young women like Amanda, they don’t even have the slow-cooker to begin with. “Of course, when you’re in a position where you have to ask for things, it robs you of your dignity,” says her mom, a dear friend of mine. The couple is forgoing Christmas presents for each other this year. So for the holidays, could our gift be “dignity,” for a young family to not ask for necessities? To maybe be given something generous like this gift package that would help them stock the kitchen—and have their dignity restored?

I have a friend that is 30 years old and raising her 3 children (Nick 12, Kylee 11 and Faith 10) on her own. She is either working or doing something for her kids. She never takes time out for herself. She is a very hard worker and everything she makes go towards her and the kids living expenses, no vacations, they rarely go to the movies or do fun family outings due to cost. She is an amazing person and a wonderful mother. She deserves to be pampered and to not worry about how she will provide Christmas for her children. Thank you for offering this opportunity for some special person to win a little extra Holiday Cheer.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.

I would like for my mom to win this. All my life my parents have had to work hard just to get by, but they always made sure that us kids had what we needed. My mom has worked two jobs for as long as I can remember just to pay the bills and I would love to be able to give something back to the woman who made me who I am. Without my mom, I wouldn’t love cooking like I do.

I would love for my husband to win this. It has been a hard year for us – especially him. We lost our home earlier this year and through his perseverance, we were able to be in a wonderful new home that has turned out to be perfect for us. Due to my ill health, he has taught himself how to cook and through your videos, has put together amazing meals. Thank you for the guidance you have given him. I also thank you for all you are doing. My husband of 22 years has had 2 major surgeries within 2 months of each other. In all the years we’ve been married he has never had to take more than a one-week vacation! I am a stay-at-home mom and it’s been quite a rough few months. In addition, our 17-year old son had a major back surgery too! So with all this going on, I would love for both my husband and son to be able to get something fun after having so many months of pain. I know there are so many other people that are way worse than us, but I just know it would be the kind of lift they need right now. In all that time they both have had such great attitudes and I’m so blessed to have such an amazing family! Thanks to God for his peace and endurance through these tough days! Merry Christmas and thanks for the giveaway!

I think my mother deserves to win this. She raised 3 children on her own and helped us grow into responsible adults. She is now a grandma to 2 very amazing kids. I’m her youngest, and I have had health problems since I was a baby. She has always been by my side fighting to get answers from doctors. We are now in the process of waiting for a liver transplant and she still continues to be by my side at each doctor appointment even though I’m 29! She is my best friend and an all around amazing woman.

I would love for my friend Laura to win this. She is a struggling single mom of 2 girls, one of them being legally blind. She is unable to work due to medical issues and is getting ready to have another surgery soon. She lives off of disability and receives no help from the childrens father. Every month she struggles to pay her bills and does everything that she can to provide for her family. She is really down this holiday season and not able to give the girls the Christmas they deserve. I know this would put a smile on her face and provide the girls with a Christmas plus other things that they need so desperately.

My neighbor, Danielle, needs a little joy in her life. She’s really amazing, always lending a helping hand to her neighbors. She’s a single mom, working to raise three kids, all of whom are fantastic human beings (a testament to her parenting!) and she has an open door for all the neighborhood kids.

She works two jobs trying to make ends meet, as well as being both mother and father to her children. She somehow finds the time to serve as the membership chairperson for our local civic league, spending hours helping with decorations for our holiday block parties and the annual yard sale to help maintain the civic league building.

She’s always got a smile for everyone, and is always offering to help others, even though she’s got very, very little herself. I’d love to see something good happen for Danielle and her kids!

My sister was injured at her retail job several years ago. Because she is a single mom of 3, she endured the pain as long as she could so she wouldn’t lose her job. Unfortunately, this caused her to permanently injure her leg. She has had 4 surgeries since then, but is now permanently disabled as she cannot stand for any length of time or bend her knee & is in constant pain.

One son still lives at home to help care for her, but has been unable to find a job due to Arizona’s declined economy. She only receives a very small income on disability & can’t keep up with her monthly living expenses. We want her to come to California for Christmas, but she has no money for gas to get here.

Our father was career military, her ex-husband was career military & our family has never before asked for assistance from others. She has lost her home, her job, her benefits & her ability to carry on a normal life from this injury and the inablity to work now. Even with all her struggles, she tries to maintain a positive attitude & always has a smile for others.

Please consider her for this wonderful gift….she is the most deserving person I know! Thank you!

My good friend at work buried her husband yesterday, 12/10/12. He was only 35 years old. He was an extremely fit Athlete who had just finished the Firefighter Academy. He was experiencing flu-like symptoms and a fever for 9 days. He went to the Emergency Room and started experiencing delirium. They discovered he had a staph infection, although we don’t know how he got that? He experienced 3 mini strokes and then there was no brain activity. My friend and her husband had been together since the 7th grade. She is now a widow at age 35 with 2 children to raise alone, ages 4 and 7. I can’t even imagine the heartache she is feeling right now, and will continue to feel over the years as a Single Mom. I know she could use the $500 to help her family go on without Daddy. Please bless her this Christmas. Thank you.

My daughter Lauren is a single mom raising her daughter a 15 month daughter. She has chronic MRSA that when it flares up she can not work because it is infectious. She has many medical bills to pay plus her normal rent, utilities and food. She is on a list for housing, she is number 77 on the list. She has been unemployed for the last year. She will soon have no unemployment income, since her funds are running out. She gets no child support from the dad. She has no insurance, the state has turned her down, three times. She receives very little assistance. Please help make her Christmas a Great One…..Thank You and Merry Christmas

I would like to nominate my sister for this gift. She is a single mother of twin 8-year old girls. Her husband passed away of cancer Christmas eve of 2007 after fighting for two long years. Because of the cost of health care, they lost a lot during his struggle. I know that he has been gone five years but because they struggle to just put food on the table, she still has a lot that she really needs. For example, her pots and pans were so old and worn that she could barely cook anything in them anymore but she couldn’t afford a new set either. I just helped buy a rather cheap set at the beginning of the year. The holidays are especially hard for her and her girls because of his death. He was only 25. This year is particularly hard because my sister is trying to get some financial help for just a little while so she can finish college to become a nurse. But because she is asking for help, the government has decided to go after her dead husband for child support. She has taken in his death certificate and everything else but they say that she is not cooperating with them and thus refuse to help her. It has brought the struggle and the grief and the loneliness and helplessness all back to the surface all over again. And the fact that she has so many bills that have been piling up that she can’t get any Christmas presents for her girls this year is just about to break her spirit. I think this prize would be just the thing to lift her spirits and help her get so many things that she and her girls need.

My Son and his wife are so very deserving and could certainly use a boost about now. They both do a lot for the community even though things are tight right now. He is a private music teacher, mentoring mostly kids, but due to a new school policy about private teachers in the schools, has less than students than before. He is trying to get a photography business going to supplement their income so he has been doing a lot of free sessions, school pictures and the like. She is a dance teacher for children and is also going to school right now, so that is an extra expense. Their son just graduated from college, so they have had that expense. They never complain, just have faith that the means will appear. They also have rescue animals that love to eat. I would love to see them have a boost up!

I nominate my step-daughter. Christina is a 33 year old recently divorced, struggling, single mother of four. She does have a job but gets no support from the father of her children. They range in age from 15 to 7 and there will be no gifts beneath their tree this year. I am amazed at what a good little Mother she is and how well-behaved her children are. Her love of God comes through in everything she does for and with her children. It would truly be an unexpected blessing to bring some holiday cheer into her life as this past year of divorce has been overwhelming to them all.

I would love to win because my town was just devastated by hurricane Sandy and flooding and so many people lost not only their homes but all their belongings. Although insurances help out and FEMA gives very little it is hard to replace everything. Right now before Christmas most of my town are trying to live out of hotels or shelters and can’t afford Christmas. I lost a lot but still have my home but so many others lost everything they own. I would wish this Christmas blessing for one of them. Merry Christmas to everyone

I would love to have my sister win this contest. She lost her husband to the terrible effects of diabetes this past January. He was diagnosed early in their marriage of over 50 years, with pancreatitis which in turn led to the diabetes. He was on dialysis for about the last 7 years of his life. Through all of this, she had taken care of him and continued to work as a teachers aide at our local elementary school. Now she is still the anchor of their children’s and grandchildren’s lives. Now she spends her time caring for her great-granddaughter so that her granddaughter can work and supplement her family’s income. She is 71 years old and could really use the help of the Target card and new small appliances. She is a great cook along with her other “taking care of every one else” skills. She is the most loving, caring person and shows no bitterness for the trials she has had to face. Please consider her when you make your decision.

My daughter Ashli, is who I would love to see blessed by you. She is a 28 year old single mother of my two beautiful grandchildren, who are 21 months and 3 years old. She works so hard to provide a wonderful home for them; ALL by herself. Every cent she makes goes to putting a roof over their heads and clothes on their back. Her children are loved and taken care of by her and our extended family. They have the best Uncles ever and their Papa is one of a kind. We help out all we can, but she is really doing it by herself. When she is not working, she is with them; they are truly her only priority. She wants them to be happy , healthy , productive citizens of the world; and with her help & guidance; they will be!!! She is trying so hard to make good out of what they are missing in life by not having a strong male in their home. Thank you for considering her!!

My dear friend is going through a divorce… married 17 years. She’s starting anew; new town, new job, new attitude. She’s done an exceptional job as a mother and a friend. Tonight at Bunco her daughter was a big winner and knowing that we were going to buy gifts for the angel tree, her 10 year old daughter donated all 15 of her winnings so people less fortunate than her could have a Christmas. I was so taken aback by the values this child was taught and knowing they’re in a financial crisis, she still decided to give all her money to people less fortunate. Bravo to moms like this.

I have a very dear friend and coworker who is going through a divorce. Recently, she was diagnosed with cancer and is going through chemo. This woman has a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She has been so brave and faces the cancer head on. She even comes to work in between chemo treatments when she is well enough. She has been a true friend and inspiration to me, and I would love to see her recieve back just a little bit of the joy and happiness she has given to me and others that we work with. Thank you and happy holidays!

What an amazing giveaway! I would like to nominate my son’s 2nd grade teacher, who also happens to be a very good friend of mine. I feel truly blessed to have her in our family’s life. She spends countless hours preparing lessons, coaching sports, helping at every school event, and making learning fun for her 2nd grade class. My son wakes up excited for school every day and I know that is a huge reflection of the love she shows to the kids day in and day out.
She also happens to be my running partner. I have never been a runner and neither was she, but we are hoping to run our 1st 10K together on my birthday, which is New Years Eve. Not only does she teach my son that you can “do anything you put your mind to,” but she has taught me the very same thing. During our runs, she often talks about cooking for her new husband and how the crockpot “saves her life.” I know all the demands of her job have her stretched to her limit right now and I would love it if she would be able to receive this “Extra Holiday Cheer” to know how special she is to so many!

It would be a true blessing for my daughter Helen and her husband Daniel to win the wonderful prizes. They have only been married a year and half. Helen just finished up her Masters and now has turned her attention to her career. She is a third grade teacher. She spends a lot of time in her class room. Daniel works full time and is in school for his BA. The both have very long days and rely heavily on crock pots and your cook book. I bought it for them. They love how quick and easy it is to cook in a crock pot. Helen is new to cooking and tries to hard to make meals for her and her husband to enjoy. They are two youngs kids who are doing things the right way. They are bettering their lives. They deserve something this nice as a way to say “Nice job, keep up the good work!” I am a very proud Mom!

I would like to nominate my parents. My mom is currently on disability due to some severe medical and health problems. My dad is currently unemployed and has been for about two – three years. He has been actively looking for work but with the economy, it’s hard to find. He is on unemployment but it runs out on December 21st. They have very little income so I know they will not be able to purchase any Christmas gifts and I know that hurts them because they now have a grandchild, my daughter and my sister lives with them. They are also in the process of losing their house so my mom hasn’t even bothered to put up her Christmas tree. Please pick my parents, as this would be a great Christmas gift for them. This would be the ultimate gift and hopefully it would raise their holiday spirits.

My niece, Stephanie and her husband, Jake could really use this kitchen and Target blessing. Jake had to have back surgery right before Thanksgiving and has had complications causing partial paralysis. Because he cannot be left alone Stephanie has had to quit working to care for him and their 3 children. They have been blessed by their church and work community but this big Blessing from the Crockin’ Girls and Bella appliances would be so special for their family this Christmas.

I would give the kitchen equipment to a good friend of mine who even though she is struggling financially cooked for my daughter’s baptism for 95 people for free. She is a wonder cook, great person, and great friend. Even though she has six kids, she gave her week to me for my party and then refused to take any payment.

I have a neighbor they have two boys and a girl they also take care of a relative’s child and a ailing Father in Law- They work hard at low paying jobs..shoveling snow-yard work- and are always “there” to help out with friends and family- They have no money for anything except the very basics- They are a blessing to the community and deserve a blessing in return-

Hello, I would like my mother to win this contest. Mom was told she had parkinson diease about 2 years ago. She has had a few ups and downs the last couple of years problems with medications that has put her in the hospital. But the worse part is the depression that comes with the diease. Also that she is getting older and this diease is zapping her strength. Causes a problem with walking and the shakes. She had to quit taking her parkinson medicine that helped to control the shaking because of the side effects. If she won the contest it would bring some new applaince to her home and just spruce up the place a little. Thank you, Pam

My youngest son is going through a divorce after learning that his wife of 4 months admitted cheating on him while he was deployed to Okinawa (yes, I’m proud of my Marine son). He is now back in the states and wants to start a household. It is uncertain how the divorce will proceed, so he is basically starting from scratch. He deserves a break because he did the “right thing” for his soon-to-be ex by supporting her and her 2 children while he was deployed for 3 years. The divorce is to be finalized sometime next summer.

I would like to nominate my parents. My Dad has a disease called MSA, also known as Parkinson’s Plus. My Mom is taking care of him…bathing, having to catheter him every hour (as his bladder no longer works) and many other duties. He is now suffering from seizures and passes out probably 90% of the time when he gets up to be moved. My parents also have my two nephews ages four and fourteen living with them. My nephews’ parents do not take care of them and have never grown up. This would really help my Mom and Dad with making this Christmas a bright one despite that this may be my Dad’s last one as the disease is progressing so fast. Santa would be able to bring extra special gifts to the children and even help pay some bills and help provide food. Thank you for this giveaway and the opportunity to help them even more this Christmas. Always remember Christmas Miracles do happen.

I’d like to nominate my fiance Matthew. We got engaged this past May and that moment was the best thing to happen to both of us all year. Prior to our engagement we had been looking at houses and finally found one we loved and could afford. We were set to close at the end of July, and were already planning what new furniture and decor we would like to get or probably register for. The time kept inching closer until we were to close, but no one could get in touch with the seller. We had to be out of our apartment the same day as our closing date, so to be safe we asked for a lease extension. Unfortunately, all they were willing to give us was two weeks. With no one hearing from the seller, still, we were beginning to worry we would be homeless. We could not start looking for another place or we would be in breach of the contract on our end. Finally the closing day came and still no communication from the seller. This left us with two weeks to find another apartment, pay money we shouldn’t have and move. We were fortunate enough to get lucky and found a place that was available within three days and moved into another apartment. Plus, to top it all off, my father was admitted in to the hospital and the doctors could not figure out what was wrong with him.

Although we have the apartment, it just doesn’t feel like home. We have continued our home search and keep hitting dead ends. We had another offer in, wasted money once again, and then the home inspection showed too many things that would be costly to repair or replace; thus, once again back to square one. I think we’ve looked at over hundred houses, and every time we like one someone seems to get a contract in before we do. Its so discouraging and doesn’t help with all the other things going on, but through it all he has been the one to have me keep my head up and pushing through.

My Dad is finally out of the hospital, after four months, which I am so grateful for and even more grateful he’ll be able to walk me down the isle. I know that we are probably better off than several people, but as a newly engaged couple and first time home buyers, its hard to stay happy and positive. Matthew somehow has managed to stay that way and I admire him for that. I’ve wanted to just give up and stick with renting for forever, but he keeps on trying to make us both happy and able to start a home for our future family, as the time comes. He’s been supportive in every way possible, allowing me to be a scrooge and not decorate the place we are living because to me its not our home. Our home was robbed from us with a seller without a conscientious. Its for all these things that I think Matthew would be the perfect candidate for your contest. It’d be good for him to get something positive and uplifting, since this whole year we’ve hitting so many bumps on our path.

My friend’s husband was just diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. He has been in the hospital for the past 10 days and she has been by his side most of the time. They have two children who are in middle school and elementary school. Hospital bills are mounting up, Beth and her husband are running out of leave at work, and I don’t think they’ve even thought of Christmas shopping. They’re taking it day by day but she really needs something good in her life right now. Winning this would really help this family. Thank you.

This is going to sound terrible but my son could use this gift card. He is only ten but has recently been diagnosed with asperger’s in addition to having ad/hd and ptsd. This has been a very rough year for us. As a single mom he has had to deal with us being homeless this past year and just starting to get back on our feet. This would really cheer him up. This Christmas is going to be a very tight one this year. It’s hard because even though he is ten he still very much believes in Santa Claus.

I am a daycare provider and one of my families had tragedy hit their family about 5 years ago. Alex (Mom) was working full time basically supporting the entire family on her income, her husband does help out but did not have a full time job he worked doing odds and ends wherever he could find side work. Todd and Alex have three young children; Madeline 14, Conner, 12, and Marina 6 .
Alex started having incidents that went from her hands shaking uncontrollably, randomly falling, to passing out and seizures. She was in and out of the ER trying to figure out what was happening and soon was diagnosed with a 2-3 inch brain tumor that required immediate surgery followed by radiation. All was well after surgery but Alex was required to come in every 6 months for a brain scan and a year and a half later they discovered the tumor had regrown and was back. That same summer the company Alex worked for and had her insurance through closed it’s doors do to the economy and Alex was unemployed and with out health insurance. Another surgery and more radiation followed and everyone hoped for the best. I am sad to report that this past October the tumor had come back and Alex was forced to go through treatment once again. Unfortunately Alex is still not able to find employment has health bills piling up, they are struggling to just get by hard times to put it mildly but Alex always has a positive attitude and a smile on her face! I should add life has not been easy for Alex she was diagnosed with Scoliosis as a teenager, she had surgery with two metal rods placed in her spine and since then has slept in a recliner instead of a bed as you can see this family could really use some holiday cheer!

I would like to nominate Tasha Hardman. Her husband, Logan and his best friend, Chad Tohinaka were involved in a tragic duck hunting accident on the Great Salt Lake, on November 17th of this year. Logan had just started a new job and his life insurance would not kick in until January 1, 2013. He was only 24 and he leaves behind his wife, a daughter (4) , and a son (1). The saddest part about all of this is that Logan had just sold his duck hunting gun to pay for Christmas for his kids. He only went with his two friends because he was the only one that had the decoys and knew how to do a duck call. They had been hundreds of times before, but their boat capsized. Chad went in to shock and was unable to swim. Rather than leave his best friend, Logan asked their other friend to swim to shore and get help. The water was only 41 degrees and Logan & Chad died of hypothermia and drowning before their friend could get back. His wife is so distraught and could need a little bit of Christmas cheer in her life. Logan was such a giving and loving person, and I feel this would be a great tribute to his philosophy of “pay it forward”.

I would nominate my sister to win. She is a mom of 3 and a devoted wife. Her son, (the middle child) was diagnosed with Autism at an early age. For the past 20 years, my sister has been his full-time, primary care giver. He is non-verbal and has suffered with grand mal seizures most of his life. When he was younger and in various programs, my sister would work as the care provider for other special needs children. Cooking for her family can be challenging, but she manages with the help of crockpots! My sister is my hero. She cares so much about people and would do anything for anyone without thinking twice. I want to be just like her! She actually introduced me to the Crockin Girls cookbook, magazine, and website! A couple of weeks ago, my sister’s main crockpot was broken. I would be delighted for my sister to be blessed with such a generous Christmas gift.

I would like to nominate my mother. She lost her husband three years ago and lives on a limited Social Security income, with the help of my brother who lives with her she is able to make things work income wise. Just this October my brother (49)suffered a severe stroke and had to undergo major surgery to hope this doesn’t happen again. Now with my brother not able to return to work and no income coming in Mom is in dire straights. I am trying to help her out as much as I can………..but am limited myself to what I can do. My mother is always trying to keep food on the table and stressing about the holidays and how she can not afford anything for the grandkids. Some joy in her life right now is what she needs…………and a few good appliances would just make her day. Her current kitchen attire is older than I am. She is a great woman and deserves so much more than what she has been dealt in life. But all and all she trys to keep smiling and let everyone know how much the are loved. Thanks

It would be fabulous if my mom and dad could be the recipients of this wonderful Christmas gift. They owned a daycare, but as the economy crashed, they had to put it up for sale. It has not sold yet, but while trying to make ends meet, my father lost his job as well. They are both struggling to pay the bills but still giving to their families unconditionally. They are running a household, taking care of three of my brothers (who are both unemployed as well) and sister as well as my nephew, with no help in return. As if that wasn’t hard enough, they both lost a parent three weeks apart. My Grandfather died in August and my Grandmother in September. They are struggling to get through the holidays without their loved ones as well. Something has to give! Please consider them as it would make their holiday a little brighter. They really deserve it. Thank you so much for your consideration.

My best friends Jim & Tina, owned a trucking company in Knoxville, Il. They hired a lady who was down on her luck. She repaid them by embezzelling $300,000.00 from the business and not paying any of the bills. The company had to close and they have been struggling to pay all their creditors. A few months ago Jim was diagnosed with Cancer. They have no insurance and because of the treatment, he is unable to work. The gift card would give them the means to by presents for their grandchildren. Thank you for this opportunity to help my friends.

I would like this for my husband. He is working very hard to support us. We have 4 kids 8 and younger. His job will not let him work full time. I own my own business and use the money from it to by christmas presents for my kids and it was a really tough year and sales where way down. We are just getting by and justgot hit with a tax bill from a trailer house we sold 2 years ago. We found out the new owners hadn’t changed it to there name and we HAD to pay it or get in trouble. My husband is so stressed about Christmas and his job right now. This would be such a huge relief for him. Thank you so much for doing this.

My friend Ann works very hard on Weekends, just to pay the bills. She is extremely Anemic and has 2 blown knees and a 6 inch rod in her back with screws holding her together, & gout and extreme arthritus. Ann has no medical insurance and she has been trying to get disability for 2 years now and has been denied. You can tell she is in a lot of pain when she gets home from her 6 hour day and sits in her chair and says everything hurts. I think winning this great gift would lift her spirit.

My sister could really use a pick me up. Between looking for a second job, recovering from the time my brother-in-law was out of work, trying to cover my nephews medical bills, and have a Christmas they could all enjoy stress free. I can’t give them much as I’m on the other side of the country, but if I could give them a gift that would help the holidays be a little less stressful, I would be so grateful.

Nothing would make me happier than for my parents to win this holiday giveaway. My parents have devoted their entire lives to give to their children and others, both emotionally and financially. Two years ago my dad was laid off and was never able to find employment. My parents have never stopped giving to their children and others what they still could. They have always kept a positive attitude and been grateful for they they do have. Recently, my grandma moved in with them and they are now the primary care givers for her. This has taken an emotional and physical toll on my parents but one would never know it with their continuous kind and loving attitude. My parents definately deserve a little extra Christmas cheer this year.

I have a friend who left her abusive husband about two years ago. She is single-handedly raising their four young children. She also maintains contact with her grown former stepson, whom she raised. She is a nurse and incredibly hard-working and sincere. In the time that I have known her, she has never once asked for help of any kind, but she could certainly use it. She worries constantly about keeping her kids clothed and fed, but she never loses her sense of humor.

My cousin’s friend, Mindy, who I’ve met several times is going through a really hard time. Back in May, Mindy, at 40 something married the love of her life in a beautiful beach wedding. Just recently, Mindy was diagnosed with breast cancer and bone cancer a battle she has just begun to fight. Her husband is out of work and now I hear Mindy will be losing her job at the end of December. I feel so bad and just want them to know that they are not alone and someone out there is thinking and praying for them during this difficult time. I don’t know them very well. I just know enough to know that the gift card would certainly come in handy given the upcoming expenses ahead of this wonderful couple. Wishing them God’s blessings in the months to come.

My mother Becky could really use a blessing this year. My grandmother (who she takes care of) is now in a nursing home due to the fact that she can’t stand up on her own. My mom has been running ragged the past few months taking care of my grandpa and visiting my grandmother daily, along with going with her to dr. Appts etc.. my mom is disabled herself (she had a back injury years ago) they all live on a fixed income. This would really help her not only financially but the appliances would make it a little easier for her to take care of my grandpa as well. She has been through alot the past few years and could really use a blessing. She is a breast cancer survivor and has also lost my step dad due to cancer about 7 years ago. This would mean so much to her and my family. Thank you for all that you do!

My son has had a rough last couple years. He was diagnosed with cancer 3 days before he graduated from grad school. As soon as graduation was over, he came home and within 2 weeks had already gone through surgery. 6 weeks later he began chemotherapy. This lasted 6 weeks, going 5 days a week with treatments 6-8 hours long. So far, the cancer has not returned but he could not get a job in our rural area….he is over qualified. He made the decision to move to California and stay with his Grandmother and look for a job. That was 8 months ago and still no full time work. He finally landed a tutoring job but only gets 9 hours a week. Barely enough to put gas in his car and buy a little food. We do all we can to help but he hates to ask…. I would love for him to have something happen that would lift his spirits and being him some joy. He is always giving to the homeless, even though he can barely take care of himself.

My friend Brooke , and her family would be the perfect recipients. If 2012 could bring more ups and downs I don’t know how it would be possible. This wonderful Christian family of 4 began 2012 living in California while waiting for a home in the midwest to sell, they were living in temporary housing all the while working on an international adoption! ( as a side note due to a lost adoption attempt and a job loss and move this adoption was an almost 3 year process). Just as the house sold, two weeks before they were to embark to pick up their waiting daughter, the father/ husband was laid off from his job as a pastor!! They picked up and moved across country to TX into a home owned by his mother so they could bring their sweet girl home and not break their international adoption agreement. So money being tight Brooke flew alone overseas to pick up their daughter (did I mention they adopted a beautiful child with some special needs) … came home and all summer was spent job searching. A job was found, but another move was required. Now having landed in San Antonio this beautiful family is trying to regain some stability for their children and begin again. This gift would be the perfect start for them!

I would love to see my friend Sarah win this. She lost her husband a few months ago to a sudden illness. He was the sole worker in their home while she stayed home to take care of their 3 beautiful children, twins Luke & Lizzy and little sister Lilly. She is an amazing mother that has had to take over and become everything for these kids. Of course she is doing an amazing job, but a little cheer at this hard time of year would be so wonderful for her! Thank you.

My aunt is an amazing person. This August my father was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. My father moved in with my Aunt in order for him to receive the best care possible. I am a full-time student and work as an at-risk teacher full-time. She never even asked me to carry this burden for her. The cancer ran quickly through his body and by Thanksgiving he was under the care of hospice. Even though my Aunt Paula loves to bake, cook, and crock we spent our time laughing and remembering memories with my father. My father passed the Tuesday after Thanksgiving. I have no money as I am a teacher and a graduate student. She covered all of the funeral expenses and included me in the entire process. I could not ask for a better person. My Aunt is struggling to get into the holiday spirit, as we all are. This week her furnace blower went out and it will cost her $400 to fix. I would love for her to be able to shop without worry and enjoy her passion of cooking. Thank you for letting me share her story.

I would love for my mom to be considered…we lost our dad on Febuary 25 2012 from pancreatic cancer, he was everything to her…her whole world. They were married for 50 years on January 2nd 2012 and had their vows renewed at that time.My dad was so sick and couldnt even stand during the ceremony, but he held on for mom.My mom has never worked a day of her life, never driven a car and have always depended upon my dad. She’s so lost without him and not handling it well at all. The only income she has is the social security from my dad(which is not much) let me also add that I have a mentally disabled brother(49 years old) that she takes care of as well….Would love to see a smile on her face again, a smile that we haven’t seen in almost a year…she really deserves this…thank you so much!!

I would like to nominate my husband Jason. He is the most wonderful loving husband and awesome father to our two beautiful kids. The closer to christmas this year has become a sad time due to he will be deploying for about a year right after christmas. I know it breaks his heart having to leave his two kids and his wife. I know it breaks mine because he is my soulmate and we love him so much and everyday we worry about his safety. Also he loves to cook. He enjoys getting new gadgets for in the kitchen as i. He likes try new recipes. This would so be an awesome for him to get picked.

For my daughter, she is getting married on Dec 30, 2012. A wedding that cancelled last years, as her Uncle who helped raise her was diagnosed with stage for lung cancer in July on 2011 and passed on Oct 5 2011, this after her Grandmother suddenly passed in March 2011., then in Feb 2012 her grandfather passed.

I would like to nominate my friend Pam.
Her cat just died, a cat she got as a christmas present from her husband 19 years ago. Now, I know; you’re going to say,”It’s just a cat, there are far worse stories here.”
And you’d be right if it was just that cat. But a month ago, her other cat died only a week after being diagnosed with something.
    Still just a cat….
But last week, Pam got the news that her mother has inoperable cancer. When she asked the doctor how long her mother has to live, the only answer was “Let’s just concentrate on having a nice christmas, okay?”
So, in a matter of weeks, Pam has been hit with the deaths of 2 beloved pets, and the news that her mother has only weeks to live. She’s trying really hard to be cheerful and put on a good christmas for her mother and her kids, but….. it’s hard to watch the cracks in her demeanor, the quiver in her smile.
I want her to have at least one good thing this christmas. This prize would be a good thing.

I would like to nominate my friend Jeff. He lost his wife (my friend Jill) to breast cancer this past February. She was only 38 and they have three young children at home. This will be their first Christmas without her, and I’d do anything to make it a little easier for them.

I would like to nominate my wife Barb. This time of the year is always hard for her. Four years ago her son, Jordan, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep due to an undiagnosed heart arrhythmia. Barb found him when he didn’t get up that day. She never was a good cook so we don’t have much cookware for her here. Jordan loved to eat and Barbs mother loved to cook, however since losing Jordan Barb has recently tooken up the art of cooking. She says it brings back not only fond memories of growing up but a connection to her sons memory! I love that this brings her a bit of joy! I would love to get her all the new cookware she wants, so I nominate my wife, Barb Krzenski, to win your prize package so that she will continue to grow and heal in her grief journey by using her new found cooking skills! Thank you!

I am a single dad, raising my daughter by myself, I am teaching her to cook and we follow allot of your recipes and she is pretty good at cooking now. I try to add as much as I can to what she does as she learns. If you happen to allow us to win something it will be added to her kitchen. At ten years old she loves using our crock pot and preparing our meals. I am always there with her but I just let her take over. She is doing a great job. She is not a normal 10 year old, her mind is much more mature. She loves your web page and loves cooking…..She needs this

My sister REALLY needs some holiday cheer. At 33, she’s a single mother to three young children, after finally getting out of an abusive marriage of 11 years. She’s completely on her own & receives no child support or gov’t assistance & she lost her full-time job (her only source of income) last January when the company relocated to the west coast. She’s been working several part-time jobs all year, just to make ends meet, & she lives 1500 miles away from me, so I’m not even able to help her like I wish I could. Also, she served 5 years in the Navy, and she volunteers often at her children’s schools & the last time I gave her a gift card for HER birthday, she spent it on her daughter instead of herself! It’s her turn to be blessed & have a little joy in return for all her hard work & sacrifice over the years! Please pick her & give her a great ending to a very difficult year! :)

Thinking of my dear mother today. We lost our brother to a massive heart attack at the age of 40 nine years ago. We just learned that our departed brother’s widow will soon be remarrying and moving this spring with her young son to another town, leaving behind the beautiful homestead they built together. Even though we are so happy for our sister-in-law and do believe in new beginnings, it saddens us all especially my nearly 80 year old mother to come to grips with. My mother has devote faith and will be okay but her heart is broken to lose the last piece we have of our beloved brother. I would love to brighten her spirits. If anything else, thanks for listening.

I would love for you to be able to give this blessing to one of my dearest friends Jessy. She married a man in the military and moved her and her son to Alaska for his next assignment. He did two tours in Iraq and came home and saw horrible things and wasn’t the same. She went through some very tough times with him and with 4 kids total decided it was safest for her and her kids to divorce him and move back to Minnesota. She is now currently in the midst of getting herself a place to live, a job and trying to make a stable environment for her four boys ages 11, 4,3, and 2. Money is very tight and with her moving into a place of her own some appliances would be so helpful. I am sure there are many out there who deserve a prize such as this and I would be so thankful if someone as wonderful and strong as Jessy would be a recipient. This Christmas will be so tough for her as she is on her own for the first time with all her boys and again money is tight. I would love to make this a Christmas she wouldn’t forget. I know she would be eternally grateful. Thank you!

My little sister deserves this. She has 6 kids and her husband has been in and out of work for years. She takes different jobs here and there to help with the income, which is difficult to do with 6 kids. A month ago they moved 9 hours away and had to drive in a broken down truck with all 6 kids and their dog. She very rarely gets to leave her house since her truck usually doesn’t run. If it does, she has to unplug the battery after every use, the windshield wipers don’t work, and it is very unsafe to drive. She is constantly entering contests and never wins. She is the most selfless mother and sister. We talk on the phone almost daily and she is always positive, even though she could be extremely negative. If I had the means, I would send them money so they could buy some fun presents for her kids. I love my sister!

I have an amazing friend whom I have known since college (our friendship dates back to the early 1980s) who is well-deserving of any goodness and kindness that comes her way.
Lisa is a truly amazing woman – kind, caring, and fiercely devoted to her family and friends. A few years ago, Lisa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. Through chemotherapy, radiation, surgeries, constant nausea, and hair falling out, this woman has been an absolute warrior! She continues to work to support her teenage daughter, even on the days when she can barely get out of bed, because she refuses to let cancer get the best of her. A single mother without health insurance faced with such overwhelming health and financial problems might justifiably curl up in a corner and feel sorry for herself, but not Lisa. Her resiliency of spirit, combined with a positive attitude that leaves everyone who knows her awe-struck and humble in her presence, makes Lisa an extremely worthy recipient of a Christmas blessing!
Thank you for your consideration. Merry Christmas!

I would LOVE to bless my Mom with this giveaway! She is the biggest giver I know and takes care of so many people in our family. My Mom is constantly looking for an opportunity to bless others. She hunts down bargains, clips coupons, and always shops with others in mind, never herself. The more she can save, the more she can bless others and that’s her goal. My parents have lived in the same house for 35 years, so, as you can probably imagine with it being an older home it needs many updates and they’ve had to make several repairs. Over these past few months everything imaginable has broke, from plumbing problems to electrical problems, and with that many appliances have gone out. They’ve worked very hard since this summer to get everything back in to working order and spent more than they’ve wished. For once, I would like my Mom to shop freely for herself. This giveaway would give her the chance to buy new decor for their home and make updates. Even if she was to receive this gift it would be hard for her not to bless others with it as well.

I’d like to nominate our family- there are 9 of us. My husband and I met when I was 15, he 17. (we are 34 & 36 now) We dated, broke up, both went on to marry someone else later in life, about 4 years ago we ran into each other, both were divorced, and both raising 3 children by ourselves. We got back together, married last year. We both work full time, and he coaches pee wee sports all year as well. Our family is a very humble one, happy with what we have, and grateful-although something like this would be a huge blessing. This past june we had a young man fall in our laps, 14 years old-abandoned by his mother. We went before the judge and were granted temporary custody of him, so that he wouldn’t be homeless, and we could legally sign him up for school. He has been a wonderful addition to our family- our children’s ages are 5, 11,12, 2 14year olds, and 2 16 year olds. We are a very busy household, all the kids play sports, so we are constantly running. Wouldn’t trade it for anything. :-)

I would LOVE for my mom to win this. She is the most giving, selfless person I have ever known. Back in March, we found out my grandpa(my moms dad) has cancer(multiple myeloma). Three days later we found out my grandma has Leukemia(my moms mom). Two months later, we found out my step grandmother has ovarian cancer. All three of her parents have cancer. How does this happen?! My mom has changed her life around to take care of them. Since my grandma lives close, she takes her to all of her doctors appointments. Does everything around her house(which my mom pays for) The hospital she gets her chemo at is 40 minutes away. This is also the hospital my mother is a nurse at. Therefore she is at the hospital more then she is at her own home. On top of doing everything for my grandma, she still finds time somehow to help my sister and me out with our kids. I wish I could afford to give her a nice gift for Christmas, she deserves it more then anybody I know.

My sister in law, Heidi, is so deserving of this. She is a single mom of 4 who struggles to make ends meet every day. By the grace of God she is putting herself thru college. This has not been an easy path for her. What a difference this would make in their lives. This giveaway would gift her with some things for herself in the kitchen and a Target g/c to buy gifts and/or clothes for her kids. Something she couldn’t do on her own. Thank you

I would love to nominate my sister. She has had a bad year. Her husband decided he wanted to remove himself from their 15 year marriage and left her with debt, a broken down car, and no money. She has been trying to find a job but to no avail, so she’s been bettering herself by taking some college classes. She has 2 sons, and 2 grand babies that she is unable to get anything for Christmas. This would really make her (and my) holiday much merrier. God bless and Merry Christmas.

I want to nominate my friend, “C.” She and her husband and four children live in a tiny little space and have very limited financial resources. Despite the many challenges that they have in their lives, she STILL has the biggest heart in the universe! She allows God’s love to help her provide special meals, treats and precious times of visits with elderly, young moms, weary moms of teenagers, single parents, children from broken homes, etc, to come in and be warmed and fed. If she would be blessed with these new appliances, I KNOW she would turn around and use them to bless others with a cup of coffee, a warm treat or a hot meal! The gift card would be used to spread more joy to the rest of her many contacts. Her selfless spirit would want to make others happy with the gifts she would receive. Thank you for the opportunity to touch her life!

I would so love for my older daughter, Bekah, to win this. She is a full time teacher working with high schoolers. She also works a part time job to try to pay for continuing her own education. Most importantly, she counsels women who are in abusive situations, trying to get out and create healthy lives in new environments. A few weeks ago, she went to a teachers’ dinner and took her grandmother’s crockpot that is MANY years old (it has purple flowers on it)! Her only thought was that maybe someday she could afford a new one! Anyway – thank you for the opportunity to put my child’s name (she’s almost 33 ;-)) in for this contest!

I would like to tell you about my daughter Kendall Ackerman. She is the most caring and thoughtful person I have ever met. She is 23 and when she was 13 herb older brother was in a dirt bike accident and became a quadriplegic. He is also ventilator dependent. Kendall has always help me take care of her brother and as always been there for him. Well right now I am going through cancer and starting radiation and have been unable to take care of my son. Schedule has moved back from San Diego and moved in with her brother and is taking care of him. She always stepped up to the plate and will help anyone any weight anyway she can. He loves her cookie she cooks for him the most delicious meals you can ever imagine. She loves to cook and bake. I would love for you to recognize Kendall and all her caring. God bless and Merry Christmas

I would give it to my oldest sister. She has taken on two of my brother in laws nieces and nephews. Even though things were tuff for her before this. She refuses to let these kids be left behind. Their parents are drug addicts who have been in and out of prison. This gift would help her family so much.

My sister lives 7 hours from me, and we don’t get to see her often at all. My husband decided we should spend Christmas with her this year since she has had a very tough couple years and we couldn’t afford to go last year.
I will save the drama, but she and the three kids were abandoned by my brother in law two years ago. Penniless and homeless.
She has faught for her children for two years and is finally stable with her own apartment and two jobs…but since father of the year pays only partial support when at all, she struggles financially every month. That doesn’t leave much if anything for extra.
I’m asking if you would put a smile on my sisters face this year and help her get gifts for her children. Let her be able to hold her head high this year. She pretends to be brave and pretends that not having anything extra is not a big deal, but I know her and I know its killing her. She is being brave for the kids. Toys and new clothes are not a ‘need’, but it would sure put a smile on their faces for a change. :)
    Thank you for reading this.

I would like to see my sister, Kim win. She and my brother-in-law both work 2 jobs to make ends meet. Their 17 year old daughter also works and goes to school. Living paycheck to paycheck is ok during a normal time of year but at Christmas it’s unbearable. I know that she is stressed over how she will get everything she needs for Christmas. Winning this woul certainly make for a great year for them! Thank you!!

I have a young friend that would love to have these appliances and would put them to good use, too. Holly is a stay at home mom who also takes care of her husband’s 90 yr old grandmother. Grandma has dementia, wears diapers and is generally a wonderful handful and Holly is her primary, singletary caregiver for the most part. Her husband has been on and off the unemployment roles for their whole 7 yr marriage and is unemployed right at this moment, Holly always counts in her blessings the stipend she receives for caring for Grandma and all the joy she receives watching Grandma and her own daughter, 6 year old, Moire interacting and “playing” together every day. They live in Grandma’s home to care for her, another blessing according to Holly, or she believes they may be close to homeless when Brian can’t find work. She doesn’t complain and she loves to bake and cook and because of food issues, she does primarily gluten free foods, lots of vegetables and soy. It is amazing to see how Moire has flourished eating the non-glutenous meals! No more huge tantrums and meltdowns unless she is accidently exposed. Holly makes her own laundry soap to save money and make it better for her family, she is a sweet heart and a very loving person. She has virtually nothing new of her own to work with, she borrowed my supershooter to make butter cookies this year and was thrilled with how much fun it was to make them. Please consider her for your give-a-way this year, she would be so appreciative! Thanks

I would love to nominate my Husbands Aunt and Uncle for this. They both are trying their hardest to make it through the year financially. Of course everyone has had it rough in the last few years. But they continue to keep their head up and know that something good will come. They have a young daughter at home and they don’t know how they will be able to afford to give her what she wants and needs. They continue going to church and praying they will turn the corner, but it’s hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel when it’s been dark for so long. I would love to be able to reward them with this awesome gift and let them know there is hope!

I would love to be able to win this awesome gift package and give it to Cheryl Gonyea. Cheryl’s husband Marcus has served 6 years in the Army- including 2 tours in Iraq. During this time they moved 5 times back and forth across and up and down the country including CO, WV, TX, NY, back to TX and are finally residing in Western NY with their 9 year old son. Marcus is now out of the military. They are both currently only working part time jobs and barely able to make ends meet. These appliances would surely help them and the cash would be a God send to them and go a long way in helping them to find housing of their own at least as a down payment on a rental so they could move out of her parents house where they are currently living since they can’t afford anywhere else yet. Today December 12th is also Cheryl’s birthday so it’s Karma for me to enter this for her today!
I’d also like to thank you for all of your helpful tips, recipes, and humor all year longl Merry Christmas and may God bless each one of you and your readers.

I would love for my daughter Amanda to receive this Blessing. She is a single mother to my 5 year old grandson. She is in college to become a Nurse. Between being a full time student, working a part-time job and taking care of her son it is hard to come home and prepare a healthy dinner fast. If she was to win this blessing she could have a great meal prepared when she got home, and more time to spend with her son and homework. I know this would be a tremendous blessing for her and myself. Thank you so much for this opportunity. I hope you have a blessed Christmas…..and happy crocking!!

I’d like to nominate my daughter Kristen. They have been living in an apartment with 3 small children while building their home. Her husbands work truck window was broken a couple of weeks ago as a thief was looking for something to steal at the gated complex where they live. A couple of weeks later, her transmission went out in her car that was only 1 month out of warranty. A few nights ago, someone broke into their shop building and stole a a few thousand dollars worth of equipment from their small business. While walking to a neighbors in the dark after the police left the burglary site, she stepped in a hole and sprained her ankle. The transmission is still at the dealership, the thief from either incident hasn’t been found, her ankle is getting better. She could sure use some good news after all of this.

I would like to nominate my cousin’s wife Alisa. In 2011, she lost her 30 year old daughter to cancer. Her daughter left 3 young children behind that Alisa (with the help of her youngest daughter) is raising. In September 2012 she lost her husband
(my cousin) and her mother on the very same day. He passed away from West Nile and her mother passed away in her sleep. It has been a traumatic couple of years for her to say the least. My wish is that something good come out of this year for her. With her income basically cut in half it takes everything she has just to make ends meet.

My sister lives in New Orleans with her daughter, her son and his wife. My sister suffers from severe rheumatoid arthritis and lives on disability because her illness has advanced so far. She is also a partial amputee with only one hand. Her one remaining wrist was fused this summer so she now has even greater limitations. Her son, my nephew is veteran who served two tours in Iraq and has been unable to find employment since leaving the military. My Niece is also not well and suffers from Raynaud’s and will like end up an amputee because of it. They all struggle very hard to just get by and live on very meager means. Christmas will be small for them this year and this gift would mean more to them than words can even express.

OK, I hate to sounds selfish….but ME. I am a single mom of 3 boys (10, 9 and 3) that realllllllly all have hollow legs and I do all the family meals as my mom has gotten too old to manage them anymore. So, on top of trying to keep income flowing for my immediate family, I am also supposed to keep my parents, siblings, etc happy as well. This holiday has been extra hard because I am currently looking for work but baking pastries to make ends meet….and it’s just not enough. I would take any job offered to me, but they just aren’t there. Thanks!

I would like to nominate my parents. My mom broke her ankle in October. She was suppose to be non weight bearing. My grandma became ill and my mom was her primary caregiver, taking her to appts, medicating her, and preparing meals everyday for my grandparents and always had a smile on her face and never complained. My grandma was admitted to the hospital on October 18th. She was then admitted to hospice. My mom never left her side. She didn’t even come home to shower. She was there for my grandma for any want or need she required. My grandma passed on Octobet 30th. My grandparents have been married for 64 years. My grandpa became depressed. He cried all the time and my mom stayed with my grandpa at his house. She took care of him and exactly 40 days later my grandpa passed. He passed on December 9th. My mom has lost both of her parents. She’s the strongest person I know. She needs to have surgery on her ankle again because she couldn’t be non weight bearing while taking care of my grandparents. I would love to do something to brighten her day. Thank you.

My nephew and niece-in-law’s 5 year old grandson died in a horseback riding accident in June. In addition to that sorrow they have custody of their 10 year old grandson now because his parents are divorced and cannot take care of him. My nephew is working 2 jobs to help take care of his grandchildren. My nephew needs knee surgery but can not afford to take time off from his job. Rick and Lucretia are very deserving of this Christmas blessing because they are always giving to their family.

My best friend would be a great recipient for this. She is a SAHM to her two boys while she goes to school full time. Her husband doesn’t make much, but they get by on that and her student aid. Last year, they had saved up so they could move into a rental house. The house ended up being in terrible condition, and the landlord refused to fix anything or refund any of the several months rent they paid up front. A lawyer tried to help them, but eventually, all they could do was move out and sue later. It set them back thousands of dollars, and they have been living with family ever since. They have been having a really hard time getting back on their feet. Through all their hardships, she remains in incredible mom and friend. This past summer I broke my ankle and couldn’t walk for three months. She drove three hours a day round trip to help take care of me and my daughter for as long as she could (until she went back to school). I could not have made it without her.

She and her family deserve an amazing Christmas. They could really use the money for gifts for the boys and I know she would love to have the cooking gadgets, especially for when they are finally able to get back in a place of their own.

I have a daughter Deanna, who is a single mom to a daughter Delaney, who is 6 and in the first grade. My daughter is the hardest working mom I know. I mean this year she was working 4 jobs, to make ends meet. She had to quit one, in order to have a little time with her daughter. She NEVER misses a day of work, and she still cannot afford alot of things. It’s not beneath her to buy clothes for her daughter at resale shops, Mom to Mom sales etc. She doesn’t go out much, and when she does get the chance, she refuses to spend her hard earned money on drinks at the bar. This gal is part of the working poor, she cannot get ahead, I quit working so I could take care of my beautiful granddaughter, so she doesn’t have to pay a sitter ( which she could never afford anyway) and it would be so great to let her have a surprise in her life. Thanks for reading this.

I work at a Youth Summer camp that is done in the mountains here in Idaho. A couple years ago we hired a cook who has turned into a angel in disguise. This young mother of one works for next to nothing in pay. Then turns around and donates her pay back to camp. She has brought all her own appliances from her home to camp as we didn’t have much when she started. Our kitchen you see is from 1974 and until her had no repairs or new equipment. Heck our griddle takes an hour to preheat so she get’s up at 5 every morning just to make sure we have a hot breakfast to start the day. She put’s on fundraisers for camp all year long as well as working 3 part time jobs, going to school, and being a mommy/wife. Even with all that on her shoulders she still finds time to paint our kitchen at camp, put in new counter tops (that she got donated) and stay in weekly contact with the staff and many of the campers. She is a real inspiration to those of us who are younger and wonder what we can do to better the world. When asked why she does these kind of wonderful things she says with a smile, “Someone has to make sure these kids will have camp forever. There smiles each day make what I do beyond worth it.” Since I know her good appliances are at camp I would love to decorate her kitchen with nice things like she has decorated our hearts. Please help us staff make it happen. Thanks YMCA camp staff of Idaho Falls

I would like to nominate my mom. She is an amazingly strong woman that is such an inspiration to me and our family. My mom was diagnosed in 2009 with Pancreatic Cancer and I was so afraid that I was going to lose her. We began making many meals in the crock pot, since we just didn’t have the time and it helped get us through many rough meals. After a very long and rough surgery to remove the tumor and chemotherapy she has been a new person ever since. She returned to work just 3 months following surgery and has worked ever since. Her strength and determination is amazing. I love her so much and I am so thankful that she is still here with us beating the odds everyday.

I want to submit a request for my dear friend “Denise”. Divorced mom raising 4 kids ages 23, 15, 10&9….She works hard not only in the home but she has a full time job and is very active in her church. For the past year, she has encountered an abundance of hills and valleys in her life. She doesn’t receive any financial support from the children’s father so she is single-handedly trying to do her best in raising her family. She is never the one to complain but has had her utilities cut off, low to no food and this Christmas, I doubt she will be in the position to purchase gifts for her kids. Everyday when I talk with her, she says, “God is good in spite of my situation”. Maybe just a ray of sunshine will give her hope that God has not forgotten her.

My best friend lost her job last month when the company she works for filed for bankruptcy. She is a single mom to 4 girls because her now ex husband is in prison for trying to kill her! He was arrested for attempted murder and is now serving his sentence. She volunteers all of her time at her church, teaching children and anything else they need her to do. It breaks my heart to see her struggle like this after doing the right thing by testifying aginst her husband. She is am awesome mom and a wonderful cook, I Pray she is the winner!

I am nominating my Sister in law and best friend Cathy. She has had a very hard year. She is so young only 39 years old and suffers from Rheumatoid Arthritis among other health problems causing her to be unable to work. She also has been through so much this year with the loss of her grandmother and father. This would so bring her some Christmas Cheer. :)

It would be great if my sister would win this. She is a 27 year old single mother. She has been divorced for almost two years n gets zero help from her ex husband. She works full time and also goes to school part time. She tries so hard to keep her head above water, some months are better than other’s. I’m so very proud of her doing this all by herself, I really look up to her. I know she would be so grateful and happy if she won. Thank you

I would like for this to go to my Mom and Step-Dad. They opened their home to my husband, son, daughter and I after my husband retired from the Navy after serving 20 years. My husband and I have been looking for work for the past 6 months. We still have not found jobs. My Mom is unable to work due to kidney failure and has to have dialysis 3 times a week. A few days before Thanksgiving my Step-Dad got laid off from his job. They were the ones helping us get back on our feet, but now they are needing help as well. I hate that we are a burden to them. If we weren’t here it could be a little easier for them to get by. I usually love Christmas, but this year it’s hard to get in the Christmas spirit. I’m usually helping out families in need, but can’t this year. This is so tough on all of us living here. I would really appreciate it if I won and would use the $500 Target gift card for food for the whole family. Thank you very much for having this contest. The appliances would also be great, but the food would help us out quite a bit.

I want to nominate my youngest daughter. She is a selfless mother of four, and her youngest daughter, Faith, who will be two in February ward not supposed to survive till birth. She did against her daunting %95 chance not to. They serpent months in the NICU by her side almost listing her numerous times and undergoing countless surgeries, which two were to remove her kidneys. She spent almost a year at home reading care of all her meds and Dialysis daily when she got an internal infection and had to go back on hemo dialysis while she waited for a kidney. That its when my daughter Andrea gadget her kidney to save her, no questions asked. Faith its doing so good now and my daughter its healing well too but would love for her to get a gift since she has given all to those in her life. And she LOVES you guys.

From a very proud mom and Grandma

I would like to nominate my mother Karen. Her entire life has been devoted to her family and her families needs first! She was the oldest of 6 siblings growing up, to a single divorced mother of 2, caring for her aging/dying mother, taking care of 2 brothers and ultimately burying them, an ovarian cancer SURVIVOR she never complains about what life has dealt her. She handles every struggle with grace! She truly knows the importance of life and love and never takes anything for granted. I would love to see her win this and purchase something special for herself- however I know if she won, she would share the gift with many. That would be the best joy for me. She is the best mother, grandmother, friend, sister I have ever known.

I would love to nominate one of my friends. She has been a huge blessing to our small community. She works in a small, local convenience store and knows EVERYONE!! She if often affectionately referred to as Momma. Anytime someone needs something, she organizes it and asks around for help. If someone has a house fire, she’s asking for donations of clothes. If someone is going hungry, she gets people to donate, if someones electric got cut off, she finds ways to budget her money and help get their power turned back on. I have seen her take the last few dollars that she has out of her wallet to pay a young mother’s phone bill, even though it meant she would have to go without for herself, until her next paycheck. She bends over backwards to help everyone else out, yet she has so little herself. She is one of the most unselfish women I have ever met. I would love to see her win this gift card! I have no doubt it would be put to good use. I would love to see her treat herself for once.

I would like to nominate my daughter, michelle. She is a single mom who is not only trying to raise her daughter alone, without any help from the father, but also took in her daughter’s step brother when he was taken from the home. At the time, she had just lost her job and was living on unemployment which had been decreased by 100 dollars because of a glitch in the company policy. She was struggling to get by, could not get any help from CPS or JFS but didn’t want to see this little boy have to go to someone he did not know. She unselfishly did everything she could to provide for her daughter and her daughter’s step brother. Her car is falling apart, and she is constantly having difficultys but still will not let him be put with someone else even though it would be easier for her. I am so proud of my daughter for her compassion and determination and I wish I could help her myself but I live on a fixed income and really don’t have any extra money. I know this would be such a blessing to her!

It would be such a joy to see my co-worker Tonia Watson win this. She just lost hermother in law and they are having services Friday. She came in upset because they had to spend their savings (which was also for Christmas) on the funeral. What a bad time to lose someone you love and to find out after their death they didnt have a life insurance policy.

Carla and I have been friends for more than 50 years. We grew up a block from each other and have shared so many wonderful times together during our lives. There have also been a few sad times. Carla has always been the person II could count on for anything. I hope she feels the same way. It is so rare to have a friend who loves you unconditionaly. I would love to be able to give her these gifts to say thank you for all your years of love in the past and for all the years to come.

My 3 year old daughter, KENADEE, deserves this cheer! She was recently admitted to Hopsice with a 3-6 month life span. Kenadee suffers from severe mitochondrial disease, requires 24-7 care, is immobile-wheelchair bound, and needs constant oxygen. She needs a room update from an infant room to a toddler room. We could really use this to lift our little girl’s spirits & make this Christmas the best one yet. THANK YOU & GOD BLESS!

I have a friend who moved into a new house last Christmas after being asked to leave her house that she rented of 5 years….not an eviction just another struggling homeowner having financial issues. She was pregnant and already had two kids. She and her husband were both out of work but recently both found jobs that are 1 to 2 hour commutes. She had been taking the bus 2 hours each way and leaving her baby at home with a friend. She also had to find ways to get her other two kids to and from school very early in the morning for breakfast because her husband also had an hour commute and he took the only car. She’s also been in school for the past 3 years trying to get her bachlors in public relations. Recently she was able to get another vehicle on in-house financing because her credit has been poor due to the lack of funds and bills pilling up.It seemed as her luck was turning around. She also just found out that she’s pregnant again and due in July. In the last few days she was given a 30 day vacate notice from the landlords because they need to move back into the house because they are having financial issues themselves. Last night the power company shut off their heat and hot water even though they made a payment last week. I feel so bad that this is the second Christmas that they are having to go through this. They can’t seem to catch a break. I would love for her to receive this special gift so that she can buy some presents for her kids and feel better and have a Merry Christmas even though she might be homeless again. Even if my friend doesn’t get picked, I hope the winner and everyone else has a Merry Christmas. Thanks!

I would love my daughter Lauren to get his big surprise. She is a single mom of a 15 month old daughter that she is raising on her on. The dad refuses to give her any support. She has no medical insurance for herself, she has been turned town 3 times by the state. She has medical bills, plus rent and living expenses. She will lose her state unemployment within the next few weeks. She WANTS to work, she is not lazy, but we live in a small town that has no jobs available. She has Chronic MRSA, which if any one knows, she cannot work when a breakout occurs she is infectious. Even though she has been through rough times, she still continues on. I have aged parents of 81 & 85, that she helps to take care of while trying to find a decent job that will pay her enough more to work and be able to pay a sitter. Thanks for considering her and Merry Christmas…..

My daughter Staci is 32 and has 5 children. She has had 2 heart surgeries to repair both valves, do an ablation and put a pacemaker/defibrillator in, last one was April 2012 and she is already having problems. The wire holding the sternum together from surgery broke and is still having atrial & ventricular fibrillation so she has to have another surgery to replace the valves. Staci has missed many months of work in the past year already causing great financial stress on the family. They can no longer afford their 4 bedroom house and find a smaller cheaper apt to rent. It is very stressful not being able to be there to help out because they live in South Dakota and I am in Florida. A target gift card would help them out greatly and a gift of small appliances a great gift for my daughter. Prayers are also requested.

I would like to nominate my husband. We have had an incredibly hard last few years, and he has been my and our kids’ rock. About 3 years ago, we found out that my husband’s father was molesting our 2 youngest children. My husband’s family has not been very understanding, or supportive of us since we found out, and have basically shunned us since we found out. Because of the lack of support for our kids, and us generally, during this difficult time, my husband decided to cut off communication with members of his family.
One of the children who was molested has been diagnosed with PTSD (associated with being molested), and has been having “episodes” that resemble black outs. He was hospitalized for a week, with depression and PTSD, and tried to kill himself. This child is only 9. Being molested by his grandfather has really messed with his head.
This gift card would really let my husband know how much we appreciate him, and how much we love him. It would let him know, that even though the “family” he grew up with isn’t there to support him, we are.

My little sister is a single mom of two boys. It seems like she takes a step forward and two steps back. She is having a hard time getting ready for Christmas and sad because money is so tight, and then her car quits working!!!! I would love to see her catch a break and be surprised with a gift out of the blue. AND her birthday is December 24th.

I would like to nominate my husband. He has been out of work since May. He is doing everything that he can to find a job and still keep his spirits up. His parents live next door so he has been doing everything for them, however, that doesn’t really help him in finding a job. He really enjoys cooking from the crockin girls cookbook. He has tried alot of the recipes in their including the one that you posted that was mine. There isn’t one that we haven’t loved. He could really use a boost in his spirits about now. He made the comment the other day that he was sorry that he wasn’t working and that we wouldn’t be able to take care of the grandkids like he would want to this
Christmas. I informed him that that is not was it is all about. Everyone is healthy and the family will be getting together. His reply what can I do in the Crock Pot.
I had to laugh. So I would appreciate it if you would consider my husband for this Christmas Blessing Giveaway.

I would like to nominate my brother and his wife. A year ago he was diagnosed with colon cancer, and underwent surgery followed by lengthy chemotherapy treatment. He was scheduled for reconstructive surgery last month, but as they began the surgery they found new cancer. He is currently awaiting placement of a line thru which they will do additional, more potent chemotherapy. His prognosis is guarded. Through most of this past year, he has only been able to work off and on. Currently he has applied for Social Security Disability, as he is unable to work for now and for the foreseeable future. Bills are mounting, and although his wife is working, they are falling behind. The Target gift card would really help out with expenses right now. And, my brother, who has worked all his adult life as a chef/cook would love the appliances, too! Please assist if you can. Thank you.

I would like to nominate one of my best friends, Casie. She could surely use a blessing right now. Last Friday, December 7 her 2 year old son was diagnosed with Retinoblastoma and he has a rare form of this cancer since the tumor has spread from his eye through his optic nerve. He will be receiving Chemotherapy for the next 9 months or longer through a port. They also have a 7 and 5 year old that they are away from right now and will have to continue to travel 3 hours twice a month for days at a time so Eli can get the treatment he needs. i have talked to her several times and each time her strength continues to amaze me. I would love for her to win! A target gift card would help with Christmas since all these unexpected expenses have came up and she would love the kitchen appliances. If you read this please please keep Eli, his family, and doctors in your prayers.

My daughter and son in law could really use some holiday cheer. They have two young children 2 and 5. My son in law is having a hard time finding a job, so they are solely relying on my daughter’s income. My daughter is an awesome mother and a very hard worker but is really tough making ends meet with only one income. This would be an awesome way to give them some holiday cheer!

My friends, Danielle and Javier, live there lives by helping others. They are living off of very little, so they can help the less fortunate through mission work. Part of that mission is to build aquaculture systems in places like Haiti,
and even in Tampa Florida. Once the systems are in place they provide tilapia as a source of protein, and vegetables as well. It is a self sustaining system that requires very little and can feed people indefinitely.
It is quite amazing how they are willing to do without or less, to make sure others do not. It would be wonderful to be able to surprise them with a little extra holiday cheer!

I hope you will consider my best friend Kathleen. She got engaged last May which is absolutely wonderful. I know as her best friend she will be marrying the man she is meant to be with. Unfortunately, though, its as if the rug has been pulled out from under her these last few months. She started going to the doctor a few months ago with stomach issues only to find out she has endometreosis and will probably not be able to have children. That was not the last of her issues however, she is still in incredible pain and even though she has been to several specialists they can’t seem to find out what is wrong with her. While battling with her own health issues her father went into the hospital because he had a heart attack and some diabetes related issues. I am pleased to say that he is now doing well, but it was definitely devastating to Kathleen. In the midst of all of this, Kathleen has been trying to buy a house. So far they have had no luck in the housing department; they have made several offers only to either have the seller back out, or find out that a home inspection revealed more damage than they could afford. As I am sure you know these things cost money, so it’s been really tough for her. The wedding planning has basically taken a back seat to all of this. I would love for nothing more than to see her win this prize, because through all of these struggles she has tried to remain positive but as her friend I know her foundation is on shaky ground. Winning something like this would definitely restore her good natured spirit and bring a smile to her face. Thank you for your consideration.

My sister Carrie and her husband Chris are going through a very tough time with their youngest son, Triston, age 7 months. Triston was born with several holes in his heart, all of which have closed up on his own except one. One hole remains open and now has developed a membrane that stretches into both sides of the heart restricting efficient blood flow. Triston has been in and out of Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis for the past 2 weeks for a variety of tests and procedures. Earlier this week he fought through a cardio cath procedure and came out like a champ! Tomorrow, Friday, Triston is scheduled for open heart surgery to remove the barrier in his little heart. As a result, Triston will more than likely spend his first Christmas in the hospital. The Target gift card will allow my sister and her husband to purchase Christmas gifts for their other 2 sons, who have patiently been waiting for the doctors to make Triston’s heart “all better”. This gift will be a true blessing and just a little cheer to a very deserving family going through a tough time.

The Pastor and his wife at my church could certainly use this! We are a small church and can barely pay them but they do such a wonderful job for us and for our community. We have started a food and clothing bank because of them and give away food and clothes in need in our community. Plus, they have a special needs child that they take wonderful care of. They have taught us so much and worked so hard for less than $500 a month! I would love to be able to bless them with this the way they have blessed me and all those they come in contact with. What a wonderful couple. Would you help us bless them!

I would love to nominate my daughter, Kristin Cooney, for this giveaway! Kristin found out that she would be laid off when she was 6 weeks pregnant with her second child. She decided that she was going to use this as an opportunity and turn it into a blessing instead of a hardship. She started school for nursing and finished her core classes when she was 8.5 months pregnant. She continued school even though times have been rough. School five days a week and taking care of both of her boys alone got hard, but she managed through it. She recently GRADUATED on December 7th! She worked so hard and has struggled physically, emotionally, and financially. She could have quit time after time, but she didn’t. She persevered! I’m so very proud of her and I couldn’t think of a better way to reward her!

I work in a dental office in Lubbock, Texas. A family of 4 who are patients of ours lost their home to an electrical fire on Tuesday, December 11th. The home was a total loss and they lost a family pet as well. Red Cross is assisting them with food, clothing, and bedding for now. The Target gift card and appliances would be such a blessing for them at this time.

My mother-in-law just lost her husband of 37 years two weeks ago. Unfortunately, Christmas will be an after thought this year. She and her husband raised seven beautiful boys who will also be missing a father this Christmas but their main concern is taking care of her now. This small gift would mean so much to so many during this holiday season. Thank you for this opportunity to brighten a special someones day.

As a child, I was raised by my grandma, she would do all the cooking, help us with studying, and things that your parents would do. My Mom was involved in a motor vehicle accident in 1978, my parents were hit head-on and revened off an enbankment, I was 4 at the time. I was confused, angry, sad, and hurt.My mom lost her speech and daily functions that involve brain thinking skills. It is very hard as a child wondering why your mother cant speak, even to say “I love you”, but as I got older, I understood the difficulties she had and accepted them. Our means of communication now is like a game of cherades.Today, my grandma is 100 and my mother has to cook and take care of her. This gift would allow so much stuff for her with the disabilities she has. My mom and grandma live together and help each other daily, they are a team and have been since the accident. Having the appliances with the gift card would mean the world to them and to me, My mom has a heart of gold, especially to live with her issues and to also take care of someone she loves that will hopefully be with us for many more years to come!!!!!!!!

I am writing this from my mom. She and my dad are raising two grandchildren. The one grandchild was born addicted to drugs and because of this she has sensory issues and is on the autism spectrum. My sister provides no support for my parents. My dad is retired and the money they get only covers their bills. They lived for one whole winter without a working furnace. They just had space heaters. My mom hasn’t had a haircut in months. She watches my children for me but I can’t pay her to help them out. When i had surgery she came and stayed with me. My parents went to apply for food stamps and were told they would only get two dollars. Their income is $1,000 dollars under the amount for a family of four. So my dad goes to the food bank every week to make ends meet. Yesterday he got a ticket and they don’t know how they will pay it but they never complain. They just love the two girls they are raising and my three everyday. I would love for them to have a little bit of cheer at this holiday time. They have no presents under the tree. Melissa

Eighteen months ago, my daughter had a child brought into this world with many health issues. He was only given a twenty percent chance to survive but after three months in NIC-U this little fighter of ours came home. He has endured seven surgeries, some of which were very serious. Their medical bills have never stopped coming because of continual medical issues. He suffered brain damage and has a feeding tube therefore she can’t go back to teaching or any kind of employment. Going from two incomes to one has been very difficult not to mention the mounting medical bills.
Sometimes just a surprise can lift the spirits so much. All of us feel so very blessed that he is with us and he is a JOY and a true gift from God.

For Xmas I’d love to get him a crock pot and other items to help him out but truly can’t afford much as i’m keeping my own head above water to exist. He makes me proud EVERY day and would love to help him out…He deserves this.
    Thank you

Hey Crockin’ Girls — I’m posting from Clayton, NC and would like to nominate a client that comes in to the veterinary clinic where I work. Her holiday season has been one devastation after another. Last month one of her dogs broke his leg, then about 2 weeks ago her house burned down from an electrical fire. She’s been forced to board her dogs while the insurance company can rebuild her house. While her dogs have been boarding her 7 month old puppy started having seizures. A very serious condition for such a young dog.. the news has been heartbreaking. When she came in to visit after we called her to inform her of the seizure she told us she had lost her job. Her fiance is in the airforce and her life is falling to pieces in front of her. Though she is remarkably strong each time I see her, I feel this gift could truly bring a smile to her face. I have been praying in hopes there was something that could life her spirits and reading my e-mail I felt this was just it! Please help this lovely young lady Crockin’ Girls, it would mean so much to me to bring joy in her life during this awful time!

I would like to nominate my son Clay. In 2010, the day after his 21st birthday and 2 days prior to college graduation he felt sick. About 3 weeks later (after trips to the doctor every other day) I received a phone call that he was in kidney failure and to immediately get him to the hospital. One week later he was diagnosed with a very rare condition and started dialysis and plasamapherisis. He was transerred to an out of town hospital where he stayed for 6 weeks. Doctors got the disease under control – but the damage to his kidneys required dialysis 3 days a week until January 10, 2012 when he had a kidney transplant and his life became more normal. Not once (maybe once – but only once) did he complain or ask “Why me?” His faith got him through and he said God must have a plan for him and one day he would know what that plan was. He has done several speaking engagements on the importance of living organ donation – since his kidney came from a living donor. In June, 2012 he married his college sweet heart and they are enjoying married life. I would love for him to win this package. He enjoys getting in the kitchen with his new wife and experimenting with recipes. He is my hero and a winner either way!!!

Hi there, I am a military spouse in St. Louis and know multiple families that could use some holiday cheer! Some of our Scott AFB families are either financially strapped and/or have a loved one who is deployed over the holidays. Either way, I can’t imagine the despair they must be feeling inside, but I pray they find some hope during this Christmas season and find a reason to smile. :0)
    Best wishes,

I would love to have my daughter Amanda and her fiance Lee win this gift…She is 24 and just moved away from all of her family in Michigan to Florida for his job and are starting out on their own with only the barest of essentials (they don’t even own a couch yet) … but one of those ‘essentials’ is her crockpot!! This gift would provide them with the much needed funds to get a few nice things and perhaps a little splurge on some special groceries this holiday season that they otherwise will be doing without.

My husband and I were pregnant with twins and due May 13th, 2013. At our 9 week ultrasound we found that one of the twins had passed away. On October 26th, while out to dinner with my husband, I miscarried baby b. It came as a gush of blood and fluid. A scan at the ER showed baby a to be alive and well.

November 25, just days after thanksgiving, I went in to labor with our remaining twin, just shy of 16 weeks. A scan at the ER (again) showed that our beautiful baby had passed away. Instead of a DandC we chose to ‘birth’ our baby. You can find the whole story here

This has all left me feeling very alone and empty at one of the most precious times of year. I often forget that my husband and children are experiencing a loss as well. It’s such an isolating thing to go through.

I think my brother would LOVE this! He is a single dad of a 15 month old little girl, her mom is absent about 85% of the time. He doesn’t have a job due to an old injury to his knee.

Well, the start of this horrible 2012 started with a breast lumpectomy, followed by my layoff, then my mom had skin cancer, followed by having to put our cat down, then I find out that I’m 50 Shades of pregnant at 40 years old! I then go in for my 6 month check up for the lumpectomy to hear they don’t like what they see so I have to get a biopsy. Then my dad got sick with leukemia, then our other cat was found in the garage dead! My 24 year brother then had skin cancer and to add to that my dad passed away on November 24th, the day after Thanksgiving at 60 years old. Then, I went to the dentist yesterday for a normal cleaning and the hygenist said I need to see my doctor because I have a thyroid problem…so I have that appointment tomorrow…wouldn’t that just put a topper to the worse year ever! UGH! Not to mention…I still don’t have a job and my unemployment benefits end in 2 weeks with no federal extension. :-( That Target gift card would be really helpful to buy groceries next month when I have no money coming in.

i would love for this prize to go to my Aunt. where do i begin…..She is an amazing mother.Mom to 3 boys and a wife for 20 years. This nightmare started on Dec 16 2010 when her youngest son (10)was rushed to the hospital after the school nurse noticed that he was not his normal self. Tests were ran and cat-scans and MRI’s were given and the the news no parent should have to hear….YOUR CHILD HAS CANCER.Not only was it CANCER but the rarest form called DIPG with 0% percent of SERVIAL.It is a brainstem tumor on the pons of your brain and is INOPERABLE!!! They give you anywhere from 6-12mths.He started chemotheraphy and radiation but wasn’t sucessful and his tumor progressed and grew grater in size.It took his speech, ability to walk, see or even eat normally. She quit her jobfull time job to be home and take care of him. He fought hard and long until he earned his wings on JULY 20th 2012.Now if that wasn’t rough enoug, her oldest left for collage and the middle childed started to have some mediical issues as well.
Her husband of 20 yrs packed up and walked out them, leaving her to deal with all this on her own.

I would love to see my daughter receive some extra help this Christmas. She is only working part-time. She has a beautiful little 5 yr old girl that she is trying to provide Christmas for. My daughter has spent tireless hours this year raising money for St. Jude and has donated time and platelets. She doesn’t have much but is willing to help others in anyway she can. Any extra help with clothes, toys and groceries would be wonderful!

I normally don’t enter anything, but I have a brother who lives in Corpus with his wife and two daughters. His wife has been battling breast cancer for almost a yr. She had to have one breast removed and is still going for treatments. Her mother past away last month from a long illness during which time my sister-in-law was not able to go visit. Through this his two girls have been so great ages 12 & 8, they have helped out with cleaning the house, meals and also helping thier mother through her rough days.Through all this they have kept up thier grades in school. We all know that medication, surgerys and Dr. visits puts a big strane on a familys budget. They the best and it would be so nice to put a smile on thier faces as they journey through the next yr.Thank you for taking time to read this and all the other entrys. I know it will be a hard decision. Have a Great Holiday.

My precious sister- in- law, Mary Holley, deserves to win the wonderful Bella kitchen appliances. She is a self-less mom who sold all of her things and moved in with her special needs son to help take care of him. She works full time as a teachers aid for special needs children. She doesn’t have a lot and loves to cook in her crock pot, because meals and money go farther. She is always reminding me of how blessed she is. I am the one who is blessed to call her sister. She shows me what is really important in life like family and time spent together over a nice warm meal. She is one in a million!

Please enter me into this giveaway. I would love to bless my mother with these gifts. She is so thoughful and caring towards others all of the time, she deserves some special blessings of her own. 2 years ago, she had her mother move in with her, and as my grandmother’s health has deteriorated, my mom works tirelessly to take care of her, and make sure she’s comfortable. My mom is 64, so it’s not like she’s a spring chicken herself. She works full-time and gets very tired from all of the responsibilities she has. I hope I’m chosen to win, to pass the blessing on to my mom. Thank you!

I would love for my mother to win this wonderful prize. My mother had surgery in July of 2011 where they removed 40% of her stomach. She still continues to eat by J tube (feeding tube) but the doctors say she can eat real food if processed correctly which means pureed, mashed, or fine/soft foods. This would help her greatly. She has not been able to work and due to her decreased strength and endurance is unable to shop. She loves to cook and still cooks for us (her family) when she is up to it. My mother raised four children and now they have custody of my 3 neices so her life is pretty exhausting. She loves trying new recipes and due to lack of money has not been able to buy new cookware or appliances for years. She also lost >60 pounds after her surgery so the gift card would help with her getting new clothing. She does not shop due to weakness but could order on line. I would be so happy if you would choose her for these amazing gift. This would be a Christmas she would never forget. I currently go to college and my other siblings are limited in their ability to help also. But I think this would be the best gift ever for her. As I said she loves to try new recipes and has had lot’s of difficulty in the past due to being so weak that she didnt feel like mixing/etc. Please consider my mother in this offer. Thank you for your time!

My mom is a great person that would giver her right arm to help someone. She and my dad have very little and it seems that every time they turn around another catastrophe strikes. This would be a great pick-me up for her since this
Christmas has seen many hardships (car breaking down, medical bills, etc).

My daughter is a single mother of two very active teenage boys and uses our crockpot almost daily in order to make dinners while she is at work, despite the fact it has a broken knob/handle on top. She works three jobs in order to try to make ends meet and keep them in their various sports programs. She is always at work or a sporting event, picking up from practices and going to games. She is a fantastic mother and lives, eats, and breathes for my two grandsons. She is so giving and since I’ve had to retire early due to medical problems, money is tight and I cannot afford to gift her the items you’re giving away. She is very, very deserving and would be so thrilled if she won. Thank you for considering her!

I would like to enter my mom for a chance to win this giveaway. My mom has been a childcare provider for 38 years, raised 3 children, helped my dad through prostate cancer and there is never a day that you can not count on her! She currently struggles with fibromyalgia, and each day is a challenge for her but she never let’s anyone down. She is a wonderful “nana” to my 3 children, I just love her so much and as a mother of 3 it is hard for me to do anything extra special for her. Please consider my mom and very best friend <3 Happy Holidays!!!!

I would like to nominate my wife. She does so much for others. She helps my parents, she helps her parents (her mom has recently had surgery and goes over each day to help her mom get ready before she goes to work, she then works 9-10 hours each day) Even for Christmas she is donating her time to help feed others. I would like to show her that others do appreciate her and love her.

I would love to give this to my twelve-year-old daughter. I purchased your cookbook for her for Christmas and this would be PERFECT to go with it! She lives in Colorado with my parents so this would also go to my Mom (who I am TRYING to convince her that she needs to use her Slow Cooker more! lol) to use. My daughter has been through a lot in her young life (we were homeless for awhile plus I was in a domestic violence situation where she saw some things that she never should have seen.) I gave my parents guardianship becasue I wanted a more stable life for her. ANYWAY (sorry if that was TMI!!) she LOVES to cook and I know that she would love, and use this, a lot! Thanks for your wonderful recipes!!

I would love to see my husband win. Last year I had major back surgery and ended up with some complications that will effect the way I live my life from that day forward. Since then, my husband not only works but helps with our 4 children (all under 18yo), helps do laundry, clean house, get kids to practices, games and also does most of the cooking now and so forth.

Anything that can make things easier for him as he now does a huge part of what I use to be able to do would be a wonderful treat for him. My husband works in the evenings, early morning hours so he does get a lot of sleep since he has taken over some of my roles.

I think this would be a wonderful gift/surprise for him.

My daughter Tina has been a widow sine 12-27-02. she has been raising her 3 children by herself. she has some health issues, marked degenerative disk, Polysystic Ovarian Syndrome, has migraines (as many as 5 a week) and a tumor in uterus that has been growing for several years as she has no insurance. she just recently qualified for assistance from Cleveland Clinic to have tumor removed. she can’t go to doctor for headaches due to no insurance. winning this would just be a real plus to make her holidays brighter. she is really struggling this year. I help what I can but I’m 67 and only have my left hand(lost right one in grain auger in 2000). so any help would be appreciated. God Bless you for doing this for some lucky person. daughter is 45. thank you

I would like to nominate my pastor and his wife. They started Arise Christian Fellowship in November 2011. He and his wife work tirelessly and take no salary. They are both retired and on a fixed income but love the Lord and only want to help others know that God loves them. He also works a part-time job to help make the ends meet.

Every Thursday night we have a pot luck at Arise and then Bible study. We also have a large breakfast before Sunday School on Sundays. Pastor Lucian preaches the Word and leads Bible study. Trish, his loving wife teaches the smaller children on Sundays and Thursday night and leads the Praise team. She also has a craft night once a month for the ladies of the church, where she assists us in making beautiful earrings, necklaces, and other great crafts. They would be great winners for this drawing.

I want to nominate my husband the last 2 years have been difficult with him having back surgery. Almost losing his job, to finally getting laid off from the job he loved. God has been our strenghth throughout all this, but there have been times when it seems alll hope is lost, unemployment benefits end Christmas eve. He needs a little Christmas cheer and so do our kids. He is a great husband and father. God Bless, Merry Christmas.

My wife (Debora) does not know I am doing this. And I hope see does not read this either….so shhhhh! I think that my wife deserves to win this. She has been struggling with the passing of her mom (4 years ago) and dad (2 years ago). She took care of both of them while they were sick, while taking care of our three kids and keeping the house up. We recently found out that our son is dyslexic and has many other learning disablities. I work second shift in the winter and she does everything on her own. She gets up early to put dinner in the crock pot so it is finished. That way she can help the 3 kids with their homework and know dinner is done. In my eyes my wife is a real saint, she takes on so much. She lives each day for everyone else, and it would be nice to do something for her. So please pick my wife, for all that she does and will do to make every day a wonderful memory for myself and her kids. Thanks…..Joel

Angie & I have been married for 7 1/2 years. Angie stands by me and supports me no matter what. She is my rock. Angie still lives in Lawrence, KS. She has been a caregiver to her best friend who lives with her for 2 years. She helps take care of our grandchildren. She is there for her mom & others when ever needed. Angie takes care of a house full of family and her plate is always full. She has a very big heart and never complains.

I would like for my wife to win this. This would be such a wonderful suprise for her.

I work and live in Texas. We won’t be together this year for Christmas. Angie reminds me we need to be positive.

I’d love to give this to my mom. Over the years while raising me and my sister, she would work up to three jobs. She’s done without replacing or buying very cheap appliances in order to get by. It would be a wonderful blessing to give this fabulous gift to her. I own my mom more then what money could buy.

I would nominate my friend Charity McaFoose and her family! After a mission trip to the Philippines in 2012 her family had an auction to sell most of her belongings to give the money to a missionary in the Philippines to open up an orphanage. Not only giving up many of the families possessions but traveling around to other churches to raise 50,000 dollars to fund the orphanage.

I would love to win this and split it for my 2 Grandmas
In 2008 I was in a springboard diving accident and was paralyzed for a while.
My Grandma Jean had me live with her during my long recovery. Helping to change my bandages, encouraging me to walk and making me rest plus for yelling at meto put the 10 lb brownie mix box down when it was too heavy for me to pick up :)
My Grandma Kleppe for keeping me supplied in apple juice, for some reason that was the only thing I wanted to drink. For driving me to her salon and washing my super long hair. The Salon chairs were the only way to wash my hair, the weight of the wet hair was too much for me and I couldn’t use my arms well.
Thank you to Both Gramdmas for driving me to visit my horses so I could pet them and give them carrots.
Thank you to Both for encouraging me to take the job offer in Oregon even though it took me far from them. I go home to visit often and stay with them :)
I would like to win this for them and maybe they will let me buy a bed :)
I have only had an air bed and sleeping bag in my apartment for the last 2 years

My husband needs this. Since the drip coffee maker broke, he’s been using a stove-top perculator. Oh Lordy, when not watched, it boils out the spout. In addition, he’s been eating my cooking for 43 years and lived to tell. It can only improve with a slow cooker and the Crockin’ Girls Holiday Slow Cooker cookbook!

I would like to nominate my wife, Alycia. This year she has been going through some difficult times and I am hoping this would help her feel better. We have just delivered and brought home our second early pre-mature baby, and for the second time have spent a significant time in the hospitals NICU which was very difficult. Adding that onto a very financially difficult year for us, this has made the Christmas season very up-setting. Our 5th year wedding anniversary was this year, we weren’t able to go out and celebrate it. Everything just keeps on snow-balling and it doesn’t seem to end. She deserves so much more and I want the best for her. I love her and I would hope to give this to her.Thank you.
