Our oldest works after school, and our youngest just started his job this week. Carpooling back and forth, and back and forth (repeat until you are tired) is exhausting. I love our slow cooker and the more the slow cooker recipes the better!!

Both my girls are in cross country and we practice 5 nights a week during the dinner hour. I’ve started doing crock meals 3-4 nights a week and it’s been such a blessing!

I only have little bitty ones.. toddler and newborn… but my husband is in the navy and works tons and I am going to school full time myself, plus we are very actively involved in our church so making crock recipes 3x a week would make my life soo much easier!

I love my slow cooker, its a life saver when we’re running out the door and know that there is a warm dinner waiting when you are home.

I have a 3 yr old and a 8 month old. My boys aren’t in school activities, but as active and busy as they are they might as well be! They keep me going from sun up to sun down. I love that I can toss dinner in the crockpot and be able to spend my time chasing them around and playing. :) Would love to have more yummy recipes to make for all of us!

We will be crocking at least 2 nights a week. Guitar lessons at 5:30 and then 5th grade homework with a 4 year old underfoot makes dinner tough, so I love my crockpot!

Both my husband and I work full time. My son is involved in two seperate soccer leagues which will take us out of the house at least three nights during the week and both weekend days. Faith Formation is starting up again for my son. My daughter is going to be involved in gymnastics and I may be taking a class during the week…. I’m just exhausted thinking about it all!!! I will definately be using my crockpot :)

Well, my son is not in school yet (he will be 15 months old on September 2nd). But when school is back in session, my husband will be playing volleyball in the evenings at a local school. After taking care of a toddler and doing housework all day, the last thing I feel like doing is cooking, so I will be using my crockpot as much as possible.

I will be using crockpot at least 3 nights a week if not more if I can get some new ideas that everyone in the family will eat. I love my crocks, I have three different sizes!

We are a Football/Cheer Family. We have practice at least three times per week and a game every Saturday. When the cheers comps. start we will have one of those every Sunday. We also have a little one that is in the Special Olympics. I love to crock it every night that there is practice. It allows me to serve a healthy, hot meal and gives us plenty of time to get to the fields on time.

We will be starting swimming lessons at the Y and also soccer. The best part of my day is putting dinner into the Crockpot with my 4.5 year old after we drop his big brothers off at school. We call him Chef Boy R “Brad” because he just LOVES to cook for the family. Crockpot Cooking is the best way to go…wonderful smelling kitchen all day and I can help the kids with their homework after school instead of all the dinner prep!

We dont do much outside of school during the week, things get pretty crazy with homework and chores alone!! If I dont Crock EVERY night, then I’d like to at least do 3 nights a week, I havent planned my menu for September yet :)

    #49 on August 23rd, 2012 at 2:13 pm

My oldest is off to her freshman year in college. She’ll be about 50 minutes away, so I’m anticipating going to pick her up a couple times a month. Second child works a part time job after school a few nights a week when she’s not doing one of her many after school activities. She’s a class officer and very involved in school. Finally, my last child…a boy, is entering his freshman year of high school. He’s busy with sports and many after school activities. I work as a Special Education Para in an elementary school and come home more often than not too exhausted to make dinner. I’ve said year after year that “This will be the year to use the crockpot!” My family is still waiting. Sigh.

I have soccer and Life group on the one night she does not have practice which leaves dad at home with 3 little ones so needless to say our crock pot has become the most important thing in the kitchen!! My son has football practice 4x a week for 2 hrs each practice. Then games on the weekend. Then towards the middle of November we will be starting his wrestling which takes up 4 nights a week as well and EVERY weekend.. traveling. These two sports will collide briefly so things will be super hectic in our household. I would like to crock at least 3 – 4x a week. We don’t get home until after 8:30 after every practice and at that point its, eat dinner real quick, shower and bed by 9:30 at the latest. Our week days are always so hectic and I have to keep a tight schedule with no room for errors cause I work full time and have to run errands before practice. We live out in the country so drive time has to be figured into our schedules. Its a crazy busy life but the best. :) The crock pot is my best friend! :)

With 13 year old boy/girl twins who are both involved in school sports, working fulltime and going to school full time and a husband out of state working, I plan on using my crockpot as much as possible. I love coming home from work/activities and the house smells so good. Plus having dinner in the crockpot allows me more time to spend with my teenagers while they still like to spend time @ home ;-)!

I have a 14 month old so he is involved in lots of activities that involve keeping me out of the kitchen to cook dinner :) I plan to over-use my crock pot this year! I love the convenience of it and most of the food is better tasting than baked, fried or grilled!

Now that school started back up today, I find myself busy running a lot more than usual. My daughter has soccer 3 days a week and one of my sons is also in a playgroup 3 days a week. So I plan on getting myself a brand new slow cooker for the busy days and maybe a cookbook to go along with it?! ;)

I do not have children that are school age. However I have a 3 year old and a newborn. I have NO time to cook on a stove! I am being pulled in two directions all the time! It never fails that one of the children need something when its time to cook LOL!! The crockpot is my very best friend at this point in my life!! I use it at least 4 times a week!! I am always on your website looking for yummy crockpot ideas!! I would LOVE to win a copy of your book!!!

With three kids and both my husband and I working full time, the crockpot is our best friend. Now that school is back and my husband is deploying in two weeks, I will be using the crockpot almost every night. That way, dinner is ready when we walk in the door! Your recipes are amazing and everyone that I have tried has turned out fabulous!! Thanks!

I’m planning on crockin’ at least 2-3 times a week. Our son has soccer and chess club during the week, and I’m sure he’ll want to sign up for any new activities presented to him during the school year!

Just sent our daughter off to college, so thought our schedule would lighten a little. Nope! My son plays high school & travel baseball – practices/games/weights 6 days a week through fall. Plus additional school clubs have to fit in his schedule somewhere. The carpool schedule is crazy! Our crockpot is a life saver….

I have my oldest son (16) in HS football and club soccer. My oldest daughter (13) plays HS volleyball and soccer. My younger son (7) plays soccer. Then there is my 3 year old that just keeps me on my toes =)
I crock at least Tuesdays and Thursdays since these are my triple practice nights. Sometimes Saturdays so I don’t have to worry about dinner after a full day of sports in the hot sun. It also saves me time and money!

Since my kids are in college and high school with very different schedules, my slow cooker allows my family to eat a healthy, hot meal whenever each one gets home. With work, baseball, practices, and anything else that comes up, it’s nice to know that my family is eating healthy and not on the run. I tend to use my slow cooker 2-3 times a week. Looking for more recipes to use it more often !!

We have running club for my oldest two 3x a week, making sure that we are gone from the house from after school until almost 5:45 pm. I love to crock those days for sure. Also I am doing online college myself and stopping to cook dinner sometimes during a study session can be a drag.

With canning season at full swing (247 qts. green beans presently done), I use my crock pot, alot! Canning, soccer, marching band/football, church, etc. I would say at least 3 times a week for the next few months. I love being able to make a roasting chicken in my crock and go about my day. It sure beats staying in the house with the oven on for several hours. We rarely do drive-thru, but the crock pot is our home-drive-thru for the kids going to and from school and work…. keep it on warm, and they just open up the crock (drive thru) window :) and it’s free! LOL

We have soccer Monday and Wednesday nights and softball on Tuesday and Thursday nights so for the next few months the crockpot is becoming my best friend around here! I plan to use it at least four nights a week of not more once I find even more recipes to use!

Schools back in full swing. My daughter is in Concert Choir & on the tennis team. My son is in 1st grade so no activities yet. We are youth pastors at our church so we usually have “something” at least 4 or 5 nights a week. When the kids get home from school I don’t like spending all of my time in the kitchen preparing a meal before that night’s activities so I use my crock pot most nights of the week so I am free to help with homework and such. So thankful I found your website and constantly post recipes on f/b to my friends so their evenings can be easier too!!

Wow..let’s see. I am a teacher and mom of 2 busy kids who are always starving! Monday =piano Tuesday and Thursday is karate and Wednesdays are CCD night. Between packing lunches and correcting papers our dinner times can get pretty boring(and tasteless) I would Love some fresh ideas to save time once school is back in session…not to mention tomorrow is my birthday and the cookbook would be an awesome present!!!
    Thanks!!”

We will have Soccer, Cheerleading and Karate. Between all three kids I am not going to have a free night all week to make dinners, so it will either be crockpot meals or pick up!! I hope to do more crocking then picking up since I would rather eat more home cooked meals!! Not better then coming home and smelling dinner and having a health home cooked meal!!

We are in Ministry, my husband is a Pastor so we seem to stay very busy between church & ministering in addition to our family, children & school activities! Our oldest plays basketball. That means practice every day except game days, 2 to 3 nights a week! We have church on Wednesday nights! Our youngest also plays basketball with practice a couple times a week! Then it is softball season! We love using our crock pot! It is a big help! The cookbook would be a great help to our family! Thanks for this opportunity & God Bless! :)

I happily crock dinner at a minimum of twice a week, and we enjoy the leftovers too! Each week we are busy with: homework, ice hockey, softball workouts, baseball workouts, scouts, student council meetings, church night, Friday night football games, and of course date night (we squeeze that in once a month!). I love it! We are very busy, but very blessed!

My son plays football so practice or games 6 days a week. He will also be starting a new job in about a week as he will be 16. We have actually been using our slow cookers while camping this summer since the drought has caused burn bans. Working beautifully but just need to try some new recipes. Thanks for all of the yummy things you post. My new favorite is the pulled BBQ chicken sliders! We will be crockin’ 3-4 times a week.

Once school starts next week for the kiddos, I return to my job teaching 3 yr olds 5 days a week. We have music lessons, Tae Kwon do, tennis and scouts. We will be crocking at least 3-4 days a week. It helps me to come home from a long day of teaching to be able to spend time with the kiddos instead of trying to figure out dinner.

I will use it at least 3 times a week over the next few months because of soccer, marching band/football, church, canning, etc. We rarely do drive-thru. Hello Crockin’ Girls!

My husband and I have two boy’s one that is a Freshman in High School and our youngest is in 5th grade. We have football practice 2x a week, with games on Saturday’s. Our oldest is involved in golf and also works one day a week after school, not including him being a manager for the High School Swim Team. On the flip side of a the coin, my husband is also a College Football Coach, so to make sure meals are warm when he comes home. I also work fulltime outside of the home, so coming home to a already cooked meal is the best. We use our crock pot between 4-6 days a week.

    Have a great day!

With one son having football practice 4-5 days a week with games on Friday night or Saturday afternoon and another in Cross Country, along with Church on Sunday and Wednesday, and my job, I am home long enough to throw something in a crock pot and head out. I use my crock pot 4-5 times a week. I don’t know what I would do without it!! So glad I found Crockin’ Girls, you have made my family happy with all the new recipes.

With 3 kids coming and going (dance team, drums, basketball, their jobs, church, they volunteer….) I’ve used Crockin’ Girls recipes every night this week (Angel Chicken, French Dip Sandwiches, Chicken Tacos…) much to my family’s delight- AND a stress-buster for me (and our budget!) Thanks Crockin’ Girls!

My oldest two are involved in fall baseball and tumbling/gymnastics. Basketball will probably be added to the activities in October. Add in Church on Wednesday nights, and that means we’re on the go at least 5 nights a week. I tend to use my crock more in the fall and winter…my goal this year is to do some meal planning and be able to use it at least 4 nights a week!

We are empty nesters now, but when my husband gets home from commuting and teaching he is tired and hungry and he typically beats me in the door after my job, so crockin is always the best option. Three nights a week and makeovers on the others since it is difficult to cook for two. I love these recipes and would love to pass them along to my kids.

  128. Heather
    #128 on August 23rd, 2012 at 2:28 pm

Well, let’s see! I have four kids; the oldest two are in high school and have marching band three days a week until 5:00 p.m., plus competitions usually on Saturdays. They both have church activities every Tuesday night, and my oldest son has scouts once a week as well. My third child–new to Junior High this year–has private French Horn lessons on Thursdays and scouts on Tuesdays, as well as weekly church activities. Both he and my youngest son, who has Autism, have therapeutic horseback riding lessons every Wednesday night. My youngest son goes to Cub Scouts on Friday afternoons. I teach at a local college so I don’t have much time during the day to prepare meals…and the afternoons are a constant taxi-driver experience! So, I use my slow-cooker a LOT. If I had more/better recipes I’d like to use it 4-5 times a week (is that a good thing? I think it’s just a survival thing!). I have made SO many of your recipes, and love them! I’d love to have your cookbook! Thanks for everything you do!!

A 45 minute drive to and from work. Three girls – one lives the next street over and is a recent college grad that just started her first real job working lots of hours with little pay. Therefore Mom’s home is the dinner place. Second girl is a competitive HS cheerleader who also works at a cheer/gymnastics gym. She doesn’t drive yet but practices three days a week, works the other two days, and football games on Friday. Then there’s the baby’s (age 10)schedule. She is also a competitive cheerleader for a gym that practices two days a week and has tumbling two days a week. I really need to use my crock pot more!

My husband works a goofy schedule and is only home 1-2 nights a week with us. I am begining Nursing school where I will be gone most of the day with my little ones in daycare. With all the crazy reading (250+ pages a week!), studying, and driving (2 hour drive total each day), I will be seriously putting my corck pot to work each day! It takes time off my hands when it comes to dinner time when I am busy with school, as well as the nights where my oldest is participating in swimming lessons. The meals always taste so good so it also a reward at the end of a hard day, too! :)

Well I have a freshman in JV Volleyball. Practice on days no games and games on Tues/Thurs., My husband & I both work full time, he works evenings, so I’m basically a single mom during the week, plus I am going back to college and have classes Mon/Wed. and an online class. I also have a 10 yr old in Gymnastics on Saturday’s. I will be using the crock pot probably 5 days/week. It will be my lifesaver for dinners and the more recipe choices I have, the better!

Our son is only 18 months old, so we don’t have too many activities yet. We have Kindermusik one night a week and Bible Study/church childcare one night a week. My goal is to use the crock pot at least twice a week. I have found that it is an easier way to make dinner, even when I am home all day because of the 4-5pm fussy time :) Thanks for all the great recipes!

I have 5 yr. old twins that just started kindergarten. I also have a two yr. old. As you can imagine, my hands are full. lol.

I try to fix healthy , quick dinners for them, instead of eating out, as that can also get expensive.

We are mainly just involved with school at the moment. : )

My only is a senior this year & works after school a day or two. My husband works late. So between the 2 of them, it varies as to when we eat supper. I use the slow cooker a couple of times a week. Right now there is Fiesta chicken with rice & beans making my house smell delightful!

My 9 year old has religion, girl scouts (plus I am the advisor and school organizer for her school), ice skating, swim lessons, and she is in a helping hands club in school. My husband and I are also part of the PTA, I attend my Mary Kay meetings every week and try to hold parties! Throw in a husband who works 10 hour days 5 and most times 6 days a week, and a VERY active 3 year old who gets into everything! We use our 2 slow cookers all week long!

My high school senior has given up fast food (except one night a week), so he is now eating at home a lot more. He is also wanting to learn how to cook some of the great recipes I’ve tried in the crock pot thanks to your posts.

He is in a high school fire academy program in addition to regular classes, so after training he is HUNGRY. He will also add more physical training after school this year, so food needs to be ready when he gets home.

I do a lot of volunteer work, so it’s easy to have something ready for him in the crock pot if I am in a meeting and can’t be there when he gets home.

Thanks for making life a little easier for OUR family!

My little guy just has the regular homework but with a husband who is an LEO, we’re on our own for most of the week. It’s a mad dash to get dinner on the table every night. I try to use my crock at least 2x per week – and cook enough for leftovers.

I have four children and they are all involved in different sports. My husband travels and I work part-time…needless to say I am always saying how I need to use my crockpot more as I am scrambling to find something quick and easy to make for dinner in between school and evening activities. But, I am always at a loss as to what to throw together, how much and how long. I know it’s supposed to be easy, but it seems a little overwhelming to me!

Now that school is back in session, I’ll be crocking 3-4 times per week. AND my 12 and 8 years olds love to help cook. Any additional recipes would be great. I search this site all the time.

I am a mother 5 daughters! I have 1 Year old twins, a 9 year old, a 13 year old, and an 18 year old! Husband works 14 hour days as a Truck Driver, and all my girls are always hungry! With the older ones in school and me @ home alone with the twins, I depend on my crockpot almost everyday! I don’t have time during the day to slave over a hot stove. The crockpot is a major helping hand in my house! Start crocking in the morning, and by dinner time, the girls help me out with everything else! Dinner is on the table in no time. Thanks Crockin Girls, you have been an inspiration! And I can tell all 5 of my girls, I do have time!

We were super excited to have school start this week and what’s more exciting is the start of FOOTBALL. Both of our boys, Jake who is almost 8 and Ben who is 6 play tackle football. We have had practice up until this week Monday-Thursday now that school has started they will be practing 3 nights a week sometimes four if our coaches can get a field on Fridays. Awanas will be beginning soon and that’s on Wednesday nights. My husband works shift work so I am a single mom some nights of the week, I are hoping to do at least 3 crock pot meals a week. SUPER EASY is key for me!

    I crock about 3-4 times a week.
Youngest plays lacrosse which unfortunately takes me 40+miles round trip 3-4 days a week.
Oldest is a rower who drives himself but still is often late coming home
Both boys are STAVING when they get home so dinner in the slow cooker is AWESOME b/c it’s ready when they hit the door!

I am planning on Crockin’ 4 days a week. Leftovers one day a week. And Grilling one day a week. That leave one night for going out. Which is great for our family. It has worked for the past two weeks. We have piano lessons one night, volleyball practive two nights, football games friday nights, sewing classes one night and week-end sleep overs just about every week end for the kiddos. So your crockin website has been such a god send since i heard of it two weeks ago. I truly love that you teamed up with Pepperplate. I make my menu on sunday it goes on the family calendar for the family to see what we are having and the shopping is a breeze come monday with the pepperplate iphone app. Love Love Love you gals. My daughter plays on her school volleyball team and has practices on Monday’s and Wednesday’s with games on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. She also plays on a travel softball team with practice on Tuesday and Thursday (after volleyball) and typically is at the ball field all weekend. She is also involved in yearbook committee, Girl Scouts, and Church youth group…so we typically have something going on every day of the week. This is on top my work schedule of 40+ hours a week so I usually use my crock pot 5 to 6 times a week, simply because I don’t have time for anything else. I definitely prefer using my crock pot to eating out because it is much more budget friendly to crock than spend 20+ dollars to eat out everynight.

I have aSophomore in Volleyball, 2 games a week and 3 practices, My7th grader is also in volleyball 2 games a week and 3 practices so that is 4 games a week for me. So I plan on trying to use my crock pot at least 2-3 times a week. I am new to this site so looks like I have some catching up to do. Hopefully this will inspire me :)

PS I forgot to mention that I have been using a second little crock that I picked up at a garage sale. Two nights a week for a dessert to add just a little something special. I have a 6 yr old in school. She is in gymnastics and I usually sign her up for golf lessons. She wants to start Girl Scouts this year as well. On top of that, my husband is gone 1 night a week with a men’s group for church. I have a 2 (turning 3 on Sunday) year old and I babysit 3x a week for two little ones. I don’t remember the last time I made dinner not using my crock pot! It’s the easiest way to make sure we eat dinner at a decent hour. I start it before the kids wake up in the morning. I’d say I use it 3-4 times a week, as we normally have leftovers! :-)

Soccer, Soccer, and MORE Soccer. With the two older boys we have soccer every night of the week. We also have an 8 month old that is starting to eat the veggies I cook in the crock pot. Most nights Soccer doesn’t end til 7:30 so we need to eat quick and fast. I love having dinner in the crock pot. It allows our family to have nutritious meals quickly, and makes the house smell good when we walk in at the end of the day!!

This school year will be a busy one! My daughter is starting her Jr. year of high school and with that comes ACT, SAT and looking into college choices.

She also is a member of the dance team so she will spend M-Thur. at the dance studio. Most nights ending at 9pm. Then when January hits, we will start the compeition year.

I need to press my Crock Pot in to some serious action!!! My hope is to use the pot Mon, Wed, and Fri. Providing options for my daughter to take dinner on the go. Also provide dinner and lunch options for my husband.

    Thanks much!

I’m starting a new job next week, so I’m sure I will be Crockin’ 3-4 days a week and I’m thinking I need a new Crock Pot (yes I buy that particular brand) so I can keep up with those meals!

We have football 3 nights a week, dance 1 night a week and cheer 1 night a week., not to mention games and cheer stuff. Then we will soon have volleyball to add to this crazy mix….. It is a lot of running since we live no where close to any of these activities. Creative crock pot is a must in this house. But I fail to be creative- I need help!!! I need meals that are good and the family will enjoy. All I want to do is dump in it and go. I hate the drive thru, last time we all got sick from it….

Our Crock Pot is our family’s best friend all year round but especially when school is back in session with teachers and students in the house! One of our favorites came from an idea on this site and we usually have it at least twice a week – chicken breasts (even frozen works great!), whole potatoes and carrots, onions or other seasonal veg we have handy. Thanks to this site we’ve expanded our repertoire of crock pot recipes so I expect it’ll be working overtime for us this fall! Thank you for providing such a fantastic forum for sharing ideas and recipes!

School, especially the fall, seems to the busiest time for us. We have our church activities, football for the boys 3 nights/week & ballet for the girl. Just when I think I have a free night, someone calls a practice or something else that has to be worked in. We will definitely be “Crockin’” this fall! Thanks for all the great recipes, giveaways & good stuff! :-)

With two on my kids in school and a busy toddler at home, I plan to use my crockpot 4-5 nights a week. We don’t have any sports to make it to during the week yet,but my 3rd grader does have an hour or more worth of home work ever night and has spelling words to learn that takes a good amount of our time. I LOVE not having to stand in the kitchen for an hour (+) trying to fix a good healthy meal :]

My kids are not in school. I have one grandson who is a senior this year. I live next door to the school in my tiny town, and he calls me to bring his friends over for lunch. This year I am planning several crock pot meals for him and his friends. I’ve been seriously thinking about another crock pot for dessert of some kind because of all the recipes of yours that I have read. Whatever he is involved in, I am too….just not sure what it will be this year. I also have 4 other grandkids who are not in school. I love the crock pot so I can play all day and still have a fantastic meal ready. Keep those easy delicious ideas coming!!!

I am a single mom working full-time and living with my parents (mom works full-time too…dad is sick but tries to help with my boys). Just getting home and getting through homework is a chore since my boys are ADD and ADHD. So anything to make dinner prep easy is what I need. I use my slow cooker almost every weekday and look forward to seeing new recipies. :)

I am currently using my crock everynight of the week and having your cookbook would mean the world to my family! I kinda get in a rut of what to make. My son has 2hr football practice 3x a week and awana on wednesdays. My daughter takes art classes and music the other 2 days, let’s not forget girl scouts (which i am leader) and boyscouts so we are constantly on the go. But it is so nice to come home to a good smelling home!

Gymnastics x2 nights, soccer x2 nights, and maybe dance, but with the new baby I think it will be too much! I use the crock pot whenever I can and love new ideas. I think I will be using it at least 2-3 times a week and love the idea of leftovers from it, too!

Lets see we have Tae Kwon Do tursdays & thursdays, church wednesdays. All that while working full time with 3 kids and 2 dogs and my husband is deployed t now.. So durning the week I generally use my cp about 4 out of the 5 week nights. I usually start my cp at 5 am on low n everything is easy when I get home I only have to make a side.

This is for one child and yes he can handle it, he has been doing it for several years now, we just added Academy this season which the games are only on Sunday, hope our games are scheduled after church.

Well, we have 3 children. Our oldest daughter will be playing travel softball which practices a couple times a week. Our second daughter is playing travel softball and doing cheerleading. She will practice 2 nights a week for cheerleading and have games on Sundays. She will practice softball 2 nights some weeks and 3 nights other weeks. Our son is playing football and has practice 3 nights per week and games on Sunday. So, as you can see we will have something pretty much every night of the week, and many nights more than one thing per night! I would like to use my crock pot at least 3 nights per week! Wow! I’m just tired typing all this!

    Hey y’all!
My husband and I don’t have children yet. We just got married in May. But we are super busy. I work full time and I’m still currently in school full time. My husband is a full time Firefighter/EMT here in our small town. So now that school is starting back up, we will both be working and I have school starting in September. He starts back with Paramedic school in March. There’s also church and small groups. The list goes on!! I couldn’t imagine trying to do it with kids involved!! Crock Pot recipes are so easy for both of us. 4 to 5 times a week would be reasonable for us. We try to have dinner with our families as much as possible. But sharing with them would be great to :)

let’s see, I’m a teacher with 3 boys (2 in jr. high, the other a senior) – baseball x3 (yes, we play select ALL year!), football x2, after school events for all 4 of us, tutoring for me, college applications and visits, oh, and hunting on the weekends there aren’t tournaments – did I mention my husband is the baseball league’s tournament director & president? I’m thinking both crockpots will be doing double duty as long as they keep working!

My poor 8 month old just goes along for the ride and my husband travels for his job so I am crunched for time. So I am trying to be a better planner for meals and use the crock pot would love to check out your book and have more ideas so I can use the crock pot at least three nights a week.

I am new to crockin’, my goal is to crock at least 4 nights per week; I want to try for 2 weeks straight of crockin’ once we find recipes we love! My girls aren’t in sports, but do like to attend the games and I am hoping that a hot dinner when we return from a cold, wet football game will hit the spot and warm us right up. The girls’ friends are also in and out, as are extended family members, so I am hoping by using the crock I wont have to worry about having enough for everyone!

Darnit my computer froze and submitted before i was finished. I’m a 24 year old independent mother (i dislike using the term “single mother” and all the stereotypes that go along with it especially at my age) with a 3 year old daughter. I didn’t really cook or know how to until I was out on my own with my daughter. I love all your recipes because they are easy, delicious, and healthy. I have been wanting this cookbook ever since I discovered your Facebook page from a friend. Crockin has made my life so much easier and I would def put this cookbook to good use. Thanks! :)

I’m so excited! I had a crockpot that went on the fritz and just last week bought a new one. School started this week and with that along came all of the girls activities. Soccer began the week before school. I have soccer practice and/or games Mon – Fri every week. One daughter is in Leadership and has several afterschool activities too. The girls also have 4H meetings interspersed in there occasionally. Since I am a substitute teacher I need something that I can throw in and go, knowing that dinner is one less thing to think about. I’m always looking for something new to make but don’t have nearly enough time to search – so unfortunately, we end up with the same (now bordering on boring) meals. Please help. I’d love and cherish a new slow cooker cook book.

Here’s something I bet you girls never thought about. Crocking is not just for families. I am elderly and live alone. During most weekdays, I volunteer at the local food bank. It’s hard work, but I love it. But often, when I get home, I’m just too beat to cook. What a joy it is to have something bubbling in my crock, set up the night before or in the morning. I live in a small senior complex, and have gotten my neighbors to get their crocks back out. I can make a tasty meal, or a big old batch of something I can freeze in individual portions. When fall arrives, I also have what I call ‘soup week’. I spend several days making several different batches of hearty winter soups, then freeze them in portions. That week, I have my stock pot going on the stove, and both of my big crocks going. We share back and forth, and I’m always searching for easy recipes (an old lady’s mantra….if it has more than 4 ingredients, forget it!) Most of your recipes are pretty involved, but I have found ways to pare them down. Hope I win a cookbook, can’t afford it on my tiny fixed income. Crock on, you guys are the bomb! I still have my first tiny crock, I’m guessing it’s older than you! ;-)

We have football 3 nights a week, basketball 2 nights a week and softball 2 nights a week, the ONLY night we are usually home is Friday. I would love to use my crockpot 3 to 4 times a week, that would be ideal!!!!! I am actually using it tonight, just the traditional roast, potatoes and carrots. I ideacould really use some ideas to think outside the “crock”!!!

Ahhh, school. With a newborn, I’m hoping to not be doing too many after school activities with my 1st grader. Maybe swimming and basketball in a few month. And the crock-pot…my best friend. Hopefully 1-2 weeknights will be helpful!

I have an empty nest for the first time in 28 years! My kids are spending their free time enjoying college activities, being in musicals, and working out at the gym. I’m learning to cook for two instead of six and relearning to love my crock pot! At least two weekdays I put something yummy in the pot for hubby and me and usually on Saturday or Sunday I do a big meal just in case anyone comes home for a visit!!

We will have cheer practice and cheer events 2-3 times per week, and church two evenings. I crock most nights of the week, mostly because it frees up so much of my time, and also, because my 25 year old son has moved back home, and that boy can eat!!! I browsed through your cookbook at Barnes and Noble yesterday. I’d love to have a copy!

My husband is also working full time and taking some classes as well. I use my crock like crazy! Super easy dinners, hardly any clean up, which leaves me time to train my dogs in herding after that yummy dinner and before homework.

Wow ironic this came up today. For the first time, FINALLY, my 6 foot 1 inch 200 pound freshman, went to football practice today. They finally roped him into football after trying since he was 7 years old. So I guess football is about to become our weekly activity so we need those recipes.

Our oldest daughter is starting 3rd grade in a new school. We aren’t really sure what new activities she’ll be “into” this year, but I’m really excited about the new school year. Being a SAHM with a 17 mo toddler at home as well, as it’s challenges and I’m hoping with your cookbook, I’ll be able to make new and exciting dishes for my family (while NOT slaving over a stove for an hour). LOL!

Well, this is a new adventure for me. I have been a stay at home for 11 years and am venturing out in the working world. Trying to find the balance between work and home is difficult right now. To top it off, I have a senior and a 6th grader. The 6th grader is starting boy scouts on Tuesday nights so dinner is super important to have ready for hectic evenings of homework, boy scouts and taking care of the house and yard. I do love my crock pot but need ideas and ways to simplify my life. HELP!!!

I’m a teacher, so my son and I are busy with student council, gymnastics, and church. We live 30 minutes away in a smaller community from where I work and where we do all our activities, so we are not home until 6, sometimes 6:30; and with my husband in seminary 5 hours away, I plan on using my slow cooker 2-3 times a week. I love being able to come home and everything is ready to be served. This will be a lifesaver!

I live in a really small town….no drive-throughs…in fact, no grocery store. A crock pot is a huge help! Our kids are involved in EVERYTHING in school, so our students are at something almost every night! I’m looking forward to trying out your recipes.

My oldest just began 1st grade, she takes ballet, tap, jazz, and acro for a total of four hours a week. We go straight from school to the dance studio on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays so without my crock pot we wouldn’t eat dinner! I also have a 19mo that also takes dance at the same studio on Wednesday mornings, I’m thinking about setting up a cot in the studio! I have a few tried and true recipes but I’m always looking for more. Thanks for helping me prepare delicious home cooked dinners for my family.

I’m a 49 yr old grandmother who is raising my 7 yr old grandson while working a full time job. Peyton plays basketball, football and baseball. I do not get any help at home and I use crockpots every day. Would love to have your cookbook for new ideas. I would also be interested in designing my own crockpot since I feed 4 or 5 people every night and would love to see a cut in my grocery bill which runs about $800 a month. Best of luck to everyone and myself.

My 14yr & 12yr olds are both in football – diff leagues – so between practices & games that is 5-6 days a week. School hasn’t started yet, but that will mean our “free time” will be spent on homework soon enough. I also have a 2mo. old (yes you read that right!), plus hubby works 3rd shift. I would LOVE to use my slow cooker 3-4 times a week to know everyone gets a good meal – whenever they happen to be home!

Usually we play soccer in the fall. My oldest just started a new school (and middle school), my middle is in the Fourth grade and my youngest just started Kindergarten Since we have to get up earlier than usual to get all three to their separate schools, I begged my husband to set this season out and just play basketball this winter. Even though our schedule is slower than usual, we are still pretty busy with other activities. I hope to crock-pot at least once a week.

Our son starts highschool after being homeschooled for 10 years. He is involved with the golf team everyday and I am back to work part time. Include church events and I need to do 2-3 crockpot meals a week.

I’ve named my crock pot “Mabel”,after my Grandma Mabel. She was the best cook I have ever met. We are a very active family with a 7 & 4 year old. Multiple trips to school for drop offs and pick ups, various clubs, cub scouts, play dates, church events and trying to establish a new home keep this stay at home mom running all day. There is nothing better than coming home to the comfort of Mabel cooking in my kitchen after a long day of running! She brings back a lot of great memories for me while I’m creating new ones with my kiddos.

I have two girls, one who is in gymnastics 2x’s a week and the other who is only 6months old. My husband has been deployed since January, so I plan on using the crock pot any chance I get…otherwise there is no time for me to have a healthy dinner. After 3pm there’s no time to get anything done.

With 2 kids living at home, going to college plus the youngest playing varsity Field Hockey, plus my working…my slow cooker never leaves the counter. The kids can help themselves on their own schedule. My goal this year is to start using the slow cooker for breakfast to give everyone a good start to the day!

My two oldest are college age and not at home, I have a 14 year old freshman in High School, a 12 year old 7th grader who is home schooled, and run a childcare from my home. I would love to use my Crock more, it is an adjustment to learn. My Mom never used one, everything was hand made when she cooked. A recipe book would be greatly appreciated and definitely used!!

My daughter has band practice three nights a week; and football games and competitions have not started yet! My boys are getting ready to start soccer which will add practice for them and game days. All that in addition to piano once a week for my daughter and church/church activities that are year-round. I just found you thru a friend and am hoping to crock 2 or 3 nights a week…started out with chicken and dumplings last night and pork roast tonight. (ordered a new/programmable/larger crock pot and it came today!!! :D )

Add in: 2 parents at work, one elementary student, one high school student, and one college freshman and we need all the help can get! We have to get back into our crock pot routine and are checking out some new recipes to try. My plan is to use it at least 3x a week.

I have three children, ages 12, 14, and 17. We are very busy and we still like to eat together for dinner as much as we can. My two older boys have soccer 6 nights a week for the high school. My youngest has soccer two nights a week and flag is 1-2 a week. She also has 2 softball games on Sunday and 1 soccer game. I love the recipes on FB and would more. When you add in homework and life, very busy. The time I do get to spend with them, I don’t want to be chopping and cooking. I would use the crockin’ recipes five nights a week and leftovers for lunches and the other days. Thank you.

Hello Ladies!!! I am a new member to your site but have become a very die-hard fan!!! I greatly appreciate your answers on FB to my roast issues…it makes the whole cooking experience seem so personal and real! We have 3 kids in our family that go several different directions. Our son has just finished up soccer camps, tball, and did wrestling and our 1st daughter will soon be starting preschool and ballet. Our baby girl (3 yr old Taylor) is devistated because she is just a little too small for activities!!! My husband and I started a business last December. He is an amazing electrician and after 12 years we took a crazy leap of faith and finally opened our own shop. So I get to the billing and book keeping, which I love!!! In addition to that I have a fulltime very busy daycare. As a family we are on the local rodeo board where my husband is Vice and I am on the board. The kids are great and attend most meetings with us. I am also Secretary for our Elementary PTO organization and involved in church and we are gearing up to be on the Vale Chamber of Commerce. So…if that answers how often I will be using my crockpot…I have both of them out right now cooking the Black and Blue Cobber and a Sweet Chili which I am planning to submit for your approval!!! I absolutely adore your website and LOVE the tutorial videos. I even have my sweet neighbor using her crockpot after turning her onto your website. We are a crocking community!!! So I know these activities are mostly adult…but it takes an entire family to pull most all of these off and they are definitely right there with us!!! Thanks so much for putting the mommy back into mommy at our house and inspiring me and thousands of others with your upbeat personalities and recipes!!!

My son is too young for school, but is in preschool 3 days a week. We drive 30 minutes for it. With cooler weather fast approaching here I love using my crock pot. It frees up my time to do something other than cook & puts a warm supper on the table with little effort on my part. I plan to use my crock to prepare most meals & I cook a lot, so 5+ days a week factoring in leftovers.

We have soccer 2 nights a week, cub scouts at least 1 night sometimes 2 if we have a pack meeting, soccer games on Saturday, and my son drag races on Sunday an sometimes they test the car during the week. My oldest started school for the first time this year!! I’ve always loved crocking, especially in the fall and winter months when it’s SO cold here and I just dread spending hours in the kitchen. Now, I won’t be able to!! I’ll be running around like a headless chicken taking Big Brother to school and picking him up at 3:30, plus both boys are going to do soccer this year…I’m a hopeless mess, lol! I want to be able to throw my dinner together while the day is still in my control and I would LOVE to win this!! I’ve heard such Amazing things about the book and it would be great to have one less thing to worry about!!

I don’t have school age children at home but young men with jobs and one taking classes at night. I teach kindergarten and after a long day at school I’m thinking it would be FANTASTIC to come home and dinner be ready. Since we all work and one goes to college in the evenings it would be great two or three nights a week to have a good nutritious meal ready. So thankful for a friend posting on Facebook about your site. I’m hooked!

My daughter is in an art class once a week. However, my husbands schedule varies when he gets home so it’s easy to have 5 of us eat and still be warm for him to eat when he gets home. I have found myself crockin’ about every other day mainly to keep the heat out of the house here in AZ where this August has been triple digits too many times. :) I make enough so that we have leftovers and do remakes with twists.

My son has soccer practice 2 nights a week and a game on Saturday until mid October. I will crock each of those days plus some in between. I go straight from work to daycare to practice to home. We then eat supper, do homework and chores, and shower before practically falling into bed. If I didn’t have my crockpots (yes, plural) we’d be eating frozen dinners instead of coming home to a house that smells yummy and delicious. Keep the recipes comin, he’s only in the 4th grade! I’ve got lots of sport seasons to go. :)

As of right now, my kids are involved with Girl’s Ministries at church on Wednesday, once school starts I would like to get my daughter involved in dance as well. In addition, my hubby plays softball for our church on Saturdays. We are always busy and on the move. I love using my crock pot. So the more nights out of the week, the better, but I hope to use it at least 2-3 times a week, if not more. My husband is a teacher, so he likes to have dinner when he gets home because he is always hungry after a long day! Meals that are already planned and waiting for us would be awesome!

Both my children are playing soccer. Practices and games will take 3-4 nights per week. One is in band, one works tech for church, which is another night. I have academic coaching once a week, and Jazzercise 2 nights a week. I’m hoping to get 2-3 crock pot meals a week, because we also invite people over for impromptu meals. I have 2 sons that keep me very busy as a single mom. They are both in soccer and cub scouts and of course since they are 2 years apart in age they can’t be on the same team or in the same cub scout den. We have soccer practice 2 nights, church 1 night, and also cub scouts 1 night a week. I use to use the crock once a month but now that I’ve found this sight I’m hoping to use it at least 3 times a week since I will have left overs for other nights to avoid the drive thrus. Back to school means choir practice, Girl Scouts, Destination Imagination meetings, tumbling, and swimming on the weekends! I usually have two crock pots going on the weekend to make freezer meals and at least once or twice during the week!

We stay busy throughout the school year. In the fall it’s football (5x a week), cheer (3x a week), dance, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and church. The winter brings basketball (4x a week), indoor soccer, dance, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and church choir. The spring schedule continues with baseball (3x a week), softball (2x a week), Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, dance, spring concert, swim team and church. I currently use my crock pot 2-3 days a week. Don’t limit usage only during the fall/winter months. It was great using it over the summer! Keep on crockin. :)

We have two little girls which are 8 and 5. I am a full time kindergarten teacher by day,and full time college student by night. I am currently working on my Master’s Degree. Now that school is back in session we are about to start soccer practice and games along with dance. So that will take up a few nights a week. Then when soccer ends we will be jumping into the kids’ basketball league. Between work, taking care of the kids, helping them with homework, on top of my own homework, I have little to no time to be in the kitchen in the evening. I would love to get my hands on one of these cookbooks so I can start putting my crockpot to good use! I can see myself using it most nights if I knew what all I could do with it. I need ideas.

We have so many activities with 3 boys. Soccer Sunday and Friday. Gymnastics Monday, Scouts Tuesday and Thursday and Dance on Thursday too. Only two free nights makes for a lot of crockin! So at least 5 nights calls for a lot of recipes to keep things new! !

Well my daughter will be starting swimmin soon, they practice 4 days a week. And my husband is her teacher so they drive 30 min+ to get to school and home each day. I will prob use my crock pot 2 or 3 times a week. Plus I’ll have a baby boy in about 10 weeks also. :) I LOVE my crock pot and my family loves the good food that comes out if it.

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 5 year old. Both are in gymnastics and oldest in dance. I am also a teacher of 25 first graders. Time there is no time! Since you guys came around I have tried my crockpot that has sat on my shelf for 7 years with no use. Now I plan to slow cook 2 dinners and atleast 1 breakfast a week to help feed my family. This book would help me create a variety of foods instead of just rotating a few meals!

My daughter is in tennis, and that has already started up…so we are pretty busy. She is almost 17 and drives herself to practices, so I don’t have to do that anymore! Love! Her practices are right around dinner time, so we all seem to eat at different times. Cooking dinner in the crock pot makes it easier for everyone to eat when they can!

My youngest is a junior in high school and made the concert orchestra so there will be a lot of concerts to attend! She also has a job after school. She doesn’t get home until 7PM or after so firing up my crock is the way to go…keeps dinner warm until she gets home!

We are closing on a house the first week of school, so I am packing my old home,
running my five year old to a new school and back (in the next city) and dropping off and picking up my eleven and sixteen year old while toting my three year old. Lacrosse, ballet and soccer. The interstate is my friend. My sixteen year old (not driving yet) has a job also. All together I have seven kids. Six boys and a three year old girl. I am tired of eating on the run. Love my crockpots!! I need easy family recipes. Oh, and a housekeeper!

I am a single mom of 6 kids working full time. I have experimented with a few recipes on this site lately, and I really hope to make supper time run more smoothly by making crockpot meals 2-3 times per week. Your cookbook would be a great help! You have lots of fans up here in Canada!

I have 2 kiddo’s in various activities – plus I work outside the home. I have to tell you that making my meals in my crock pot not only saves me time but also keeps my house from heating up even more. I live in AZ and you NEVER want to put your oven on June-August! I use my crock pot 2/week. I also use the liners to help w/cleanup. Thanks for always posting yummy food recipes!

We have a very busy week every week! We attend Gymboree, swimming lessons, library after school and try and fit in some play dates at the park! I don’t know what I would do without this site. I found your site about 6 months ago and use the crockpot at least 2-3 times a week, mostly with your recipes. Crockpot is what saves dinner time for us! Its so easy to prepare in morning and come home in the afternoon to a wonderful smell as soon as you walk through the front door. Thanks for all your wonderful recipes. You all do a fantastic job :)

This is our first year for regular school. We have done preschool, but this is the next step. Will probably be a little overwhelmed, but using the crock pot will help a lot. I like to make pot roast and then use the leftovers to make at least two more meals. Like BBQ beef sandwiches, Yum!

During the fall months, I typically use my crock pot 2-3 times per week and once on the weekends. I love coming home to a warm soup ready to eat or chicken falling off the bone to add to soup or veggies slow cooked all day to have as a side dish. Crockpots are the best invention!

I have two kids, one running and one playing basketball. I am picking up one when I am taking the other. Besides just trying to find time to eat, finding time to cook dinner is even tougher. The crockpot is my friend and I use it -5 times a week. Yea Crockin’ Girls!

Oldest has soccer 2 times a week, youngest has soccer and piano and will have dance starting up in a month. My son with autism has daily therapy sessions after school and will start 2x a week speech sessions in another month as well. With 4 very active children we have multiple activites a night. My husband and I are always coming or going with one of them. All four of them play soccer with practice 2-3 times per week per child, we have religion classes starting back up, dance for the girls, Scouts for the oldest. Even 4-H club once a month now. The oldest has a PT job. Plus I work until 5:30-6:00 at night. And of course you have homework and reading at night with the kiddos. So needless to say we depend alot on crock pot meals. I still want the kids to have a good meal and not fast food!!!!

SInce school has started back I will probably use my crockpot at least twice, possibly three times per week. I would really love the cookbook because I have run out of ideas and we are tired of eating the same things over and over. I work in one city, my daughter goes to school in the city in which we live and my husband, who is a teacher, and my son are at school in yet another city. My middle school son plays football and has practice 4 days a week and my high school daughter is a dancer and has 5 dance classes and 1 tumbling class every week. Our schedule is crazy. We live for week-ends and the crockpot is our best friend because dinner is ready and they can eat before they go to their respective practices or eat at 8:00 when we all get home. Thanks for all the recipes found on-line, they are most helpful for a busy family. I have already told my husband that if I don’t win this ccokbook it will be on my Christmas wishlist.

Nicole and Jenna, I have two kids that I homeschool, but the evenings are busy. Since I’m home during the day, I fill the crockpot and then head out to football practice with my son. My daughter tags along and twirls her baton on the sidelines while he practices. When we get home our supper is magicly done. Thanks so much for all you do to make my life easier.

I don’t eat until I get home around 9pm, but the family still needs to eat. I love being able to put a meal in the crockpot in the morning and having it ready for the family at dinner time.

With five kids and their schedules, my crockpot is usually being used at least three times a week. My youngest is in poms and takes dance classes and her twins is in competitive dance. My older daughter is at junior college and it is so easy to have supper going before I take her to classes. Plus with my husbands work schedule, knowing that I have supper done when he gets home gives me more time to get my other work done around the house

My kids are a little picky when it comes to the crock (they aren’t big fans of food that’s all mixed together!), but they’ve discovered they like a few things so far! We have soccer practices on Thursdays, so I’ve been making dinner in the crock on that night. Last night we tried the Little Meats and my boys loved it (HOORAY!!)–they ate here before their practices, and I packed a couple of containers for my hubby and I to eat while we watched them!

There is no time to cook once I get off work and pick them up from practice each night at 6:30, then games on Thursday and Friday nights! I could definitely use the help of your Slow Cookin Cookbook! I have 3 kids at 3 different schools this year located all over the city. My high schooler is involved in yearbook and loves to go running 3 nights a week. My junior higher is going to be doing wrestling, football, and boy scouting. Finally my 2nd grader is a cub scout in a very active troop and he wants to play baseball and football on the city leagues. We, by which I mean I, will be crockin’ at least 4 nights a week. We also have church and youth group in there! While my mornings may be somewhat sane, my afternoons are chaos. The crockpot will be going at the minimum on 4 nights a week. So I will be needing copious amounts of recipes and fresh ideas!

Tuesday in Gymnastics for younger daughter which ends at 6:00 Wednesday swim lessons after school. Thursday soccer practice and Saturday soccer for both girls. WHEW.. Even though I don’t have school age kids, the fall still brings extra activities to our schedule. Sunday nights we meet a group of friends at church and the kids play while we have a bible study. With a 2 1/2 year old and a 3 month old, the crock pot has been priceless as we’ve been figuring out how to get into a routine as a family of 4–especially with my recent return to work. I plan to continue to use the crock pot at least 1-2 times/week and would love your new cookbook to change things up from our ‘usual’ recipes!

I have two kids in sports; one is in baseball (currently two teams; JV with middle school and fall ball through our park district), and one is in fast pitch softball. My crock pot is my lifesaver…depending upon practices and games, it’s anywhere from 1-4 nights a week!!!

I plan to use my crock pot at least a couple if times per week. I enjoy your website & especially Crockin’ Mondays!!

My 15 year old has marching band practice until 6:30 pm Mon, Tues, & Thurs and plays Friday nights at the football games and Saturdays are Marching Band competitions (through the end of October that the whole family has to go to). We have church on Wed. nights. Plus I work 1 or 2 nights a week as a waitress and am also a Thirty-One Gifts consultant and do a few parties a month, on top of working 8-3 daily as a paralegal. Any time I’m not home, the family eats fast food. When I am home, I don’t feel like cooking! =(

My son and I are bear hunting, baiting started Aug 19 so we have to drive 2 hours up north and back Wednesday night after working 11 1/2 hours, again Friday night and Sunday morning. So the rest of the family wants an easy meal ready so I use my crock pot a couple days a week. My daughter starts Drivers Ed the first week of school for 2 weeks and my oldest is back in college so after a busy day for everyone I can rely on my crock-pot for a healthy hot meal ready to go and I don’t have to worry that they will eat something unhealthy.

Daughter in college and working, but she just moved back home and I work full time as well. So now have to get back into cooking meals again now that she has returned back home full time. So the crockpot will be the goto option once again for most of our meals. Takes me back years ago when she was little and I will need to pull out our favorite recipes or at least try to find them again.

With soccer 3 days a week, church 1 night a week and a husband who works 12-hr night shifts, I need to make flexible and easy meals that can be eaten at various times throughout the evening. I plan on crocking at least 2-3 times per week during soccer season.b

    #434 on August 24th, 2012 at 9:54 am

Hmm. We have never done soccer before but are giving it a try this year and signed the oldest 2 up. Between the 2 teams I expect up to 6 times a week. Then there’s the 4 meetings a month that I have and Sundays with church starting at 1230-ouch! I think I need to stock up on crock pots! I guess Saturday can be the hubby’s day to cook and the crock can rest then- unless he crocks something! Ps made the chipotle chicken tacos last night for dinner and I actually got complimented on dinner- huge wowza around here!

Both my husband and I have full time jobs. Now with school starting back up… the craziness begins with not only homework but with baseball and soccer practices and games. They will also be taking Faith Formation classes as well. My crockpot will become my new best friend in the evenings. I plan to use it 4-5 nights a week. Thanks for the chance to win!

Mine are still little and will enter preschool and kindergarden. For the first time I will get one hour twice a week and my plan is to get my meals in order for the week at that time. I would love to crock at least 3 nights a week.

We have gymnastics 2x a week, church group 2 nights a week and swimming lessons 1x a week. I also work 3 nights a week. This would be wonderful to help make sure my family isn’t driving through McDonald’s when I am not home or when we are trying to get everyone where they need to be!

Three boys keep us running in all directions! Between football and flag football, the piano lessons I teach, and our day jobs, things get pretty crazy!! Plus I over-see or make the meals for our Wednesday night church program that feeds 50-80 people each week. Man, would this cookbook come in handy!! We alread use our crockpot a lot for cooking the meat my mighty hunters bring home! A crockpot and some beer – the only way to cook amazing deer steaks or roast!

My girls have soccer 3 days a week and dance 1. My husband works during the day and I go in at 7pm, so the crock pot is going to be my very best friend this year!! I will be crockin’ every chance I get… At least 3-5 times per week! I definitely need some great new recipes and maybe even another crock pot by the time we get a break!!

Well, with a two year old, working full-time, being a wife, and everything else thrown in…I am find myself disorganized with dinner. We have playdates, errands, church life group, and etc.

I am hoping to use your book to crockpot it three days a week. We leave the house for work at 6am and return at 4:45 PM from work. I want to be able to have dinner ready when we get home!

I do cook a lot in the crockpot but I am anxious to try more new recipies since I am getting tired of the same old ones. I am going to “Get Crockin’ Ya’ll”

We will be busy with band and piano lessons this year. Add in a long commute to work and the slow cooker is a life-saver. Hope to crock at least 2 – 3 times a week. I made Crockin’ Girls parmesan chicken for the first time last week; Yum!!

Hockey for 3. 3-4 nights a week, soccer 1 night and football 2 nights! Love the slow cooker and use it as often as I can. It is a life saver!!! We loved the Chicken and Dumpling recipe last year!!!

We are a family of 6. My oldest son is starting high school, and on the football team. We have twin boys, and a daughter who play soccer together. So needless to say we will be driving all over town. I will be using the crockpot as much as possible to have less stress, and to feed 4 growing kids!

    #453 on August 24th, 2012 at 10:03 am

I have oldest daughter in band, that means early days and long nights two days a week. I also care for my one year old grand son during the day so my time is limited. We are having really high temps so the slow cooker is the best. In fact, I am going to purchase the new buffet slow cooker, three individually controlled slow cookers in one unit. I think that will save us when we are soon to be without a kitchen for a couple of months while I get a new one. I can’t wait.

We have cross country 5 nights a week till after 5 every night. So I combined once a month cooking and my crock pot. I made and froze about 20 meals and so every morning I just pick a meal and put it in my crock pot and off I go. My crock pot is my life saver.

My son starts preschool this year at our church which is 45 minutes away. Him and I both sing at our church so that means more driving. Plus, he takes karate twice a week. My hubby works 2 hours away so that leaves very little time for me to cook healthy meals with all the chauffering I’ll be doing! I plan on using my crock pot at least 4 days out of the week!

This is our first school year, with my oldest starting Kindergarten… (Time has gone WAY too fast!) He isn’t signed up in any extracurricular activities just yet – waiting to see what the year brings and his interests are. I also have a younger one at home, and look to begin crock’n MUCH more often – hopefully 3x/week. (Currently, I only crock about 3x/month.)

Even though school hasn’t started, fall sports practices have started. Practice is from 4pm to 6pm and with working full time, it’s hard to fit in dinner. My crock is always crockin’. This week I made a simple pork chop dinner in the crock pot. Just add BBQ sauce and balsamic vinegar to a few pork chops and cook for 4 hours on low. It’s easy and delicious!

My kids are all still a home (ages 3, 2 & 7 weeks). But my husband and I are crockin’ for a few reasons. One, those are the nights that I am able to actually have supper on the table on time while chasing 3 kids. Two, the husband and I just started to get healthy and the crock pot is helping with our weight loss by adding more meat and veggies in our diet. Three, we are substituting the drive thru nights with crock pot recipes probably 4 nights a week (including leftovers).

Fast food is our go to almost every single night and boy have we put the weight on…I’ve told my fiance about your cookbook and website and told him that with school starting it is time to breakout my NEVER used crockpot and time to get crockin’ . His oldest daughter is entering 7th grade this year and will be playing Jr. High Basketball, Track, and Softball, and Pep Squad. Not to mention all of the High School Football games we will be attending in support of our school. The youngest will be involved in Basketball and Little League Baseball as well, so it looks like everyday for the next year will be a CROCKPOT meal! I’m definitely looking forward to pulling out my crockpot for the first time and cooking our family a good home cooked meal everyday of the week!

We have soccer currently…and church. My hubby is a high school basketball coach so our schedule really picks up in another month or so & my boys will start bball also… I used the crock pot twice this week and hope to use it at least once or twice a week in the future. It sure makes dinner time easier! Just recently found your site- hoping to make use of it! :-)

My son has Speech Therapy and OT after school 3 days a week, which makes for a long day for kiddo with Autism. At the end of his day, long lines at the drive thrus just don’t work. He is ready to eat. It is too sweet to hear him say ” smells good ” as he lifts the lid off the crock pot. My daughter has dancing, softball practice, pitching coach practice and participates in a fundamental fitness program after school too. We are cockin’ it at least 4 days a week.

I have four kids ages 10,9,6,4. My two oldest are in football and cheerleading. Football practice is 3 nights a week and cheerleading is two nights a week. Plus the games on weekends. My oldest son is in cub scouts and the girls will be in girl scouts. I plan on using my crockpot as much as 4 times a week. Plus I work 3 days a week and two of those days are practice nights.

Instead of sports and dance this year, the kids are involved in an after school program while I work longer days. I pick them up at 6pm, and at 6:01 they say “I’m hungry!!!” So…it’s throw everything in the crock in the morning and enjoy a nice (healthy) supper in the evening!

I would like to win this cookbook for my best friend who is an RN that works 12 hour shifts 5-6 days a week, is an EMT on the volunteer fire department and on the town board, has one in college and one in high school that plays volleyball and does 4H and runs every night of the week. I would like to win this for her to make her life a little easier and so that I can keep track of my book ;)

For our family I would the happiest parent to say we were physically able to do sports. But our after school consists of seeing multiple therapists daily. We were blessed when our boys were placed with us 4 years ago. Having 2 little boys with severe diasabilites you literally have no time to cook. Your crockpot turns into your best friend. People should be proud that their children can do different sports and remember the little guys that are unable to run jump or even verbalize needs or wants.

We are always eager to get outside in the evening when the day cools down, to play “diggers, and lawnmowers” as my little man calls every 4-wheeled object he sees:) and after 10 hour days at work… I LOVE coming home to a crock pot full of yummy goodness thanks to you lovely ladies;)

My daughter is in high school band and with football games and parades beginning soon, we will busy with band. My youngest daughter is ready to start back in tumbling and/or dance, so we will add that to the list. I love crock pot cooking, and try to utilize the crock pot as often as possible. I am never home until 800. My oldest son is in football five nights a week and games on Saturday, my other boy is in soccer three nights a week and then to to it off I need to fit in some exercises which my 10 month old daughter had to join me because my husband works like a mad man. Oh and did I mention I live 20 minutes outside of town. But I wouldn’t change a thing :-) my kids are happy which makes me happy.

We will have soccer for three little boys, all different nights and times of the week and some piano lessons. Not to mention that my husband does a lot of traveling, so it will just be me being the taxi driver. It is so much easier to throw something in the crock pot after the boys get on the bus and then dinner is ready when we are ready to eat. I am thinking that at least 3 times out of the week, I will use it. Always looking for some new recipes.

My son has autism and attends therapy every Monday, Weds. and Thurs. So, needless to say, crockin is a HUGE part of our routine! I couldn’t make it without it! We recently also enrolled him to play in the special olympics which meets on Tues. And, now our older son will begin football practice 5 days a week until 5:30. Never a dull moment at our house! Busy, Busy, Busy!! Love you guys! You have made my life so much easier with all your recipies!!

I am now a single mom with 3 girls. My oldest has cheerleading and tumbling 3 nights a week, the middle daughter has dance/gymnastics 2 nights a week and the youngest has now started a tumbling class 1 night a week. We are going and blowing 4 nights out of the week starting at 6 and some nights not ending until almost 9. The crockpot is definitely my BFF during the week!!

I have made several recipes that you have posted on this website and would LOVE a copy of your cookbook!!

My kiddos are starting soccer and gymnastics this year. Also, I’m a nurse so I won’t be home in time for dinner three nights a week. I’m counting on my slow cooker to do my cooking for me! I plan on using it at least 3 nights a week to provide healthy meals for my family. Otherwise, it would be the drive thru line for my husband :)

I only have one stepdaughter, but my fiancee and I work opposite schedules so our slow cooker is a blessing! My stepdaughter is a first grader this year, and is coming home with homework for the first time so that takes up time at night; along with several activities (swimming lessons, ballet lessons and Girl Scout meetings). Our slow cooker enables me to create nutritious and yummy family meals without taking time away from the limited amount of time the three of us have together. I can easily use my slow cooker 3-5 times a week (thank goodness for the disposable liners!).

I am disabled with Multiple Sclerosis. Cooking over the hot range and stove has become something I avoid because of the heat. I use my crock pot often now as it is a great solution for great meals without the heat. My daughter is 25 and lives at home. She is leaving for Army basic training in November so my kitchen help will be gone. Making healthy meals is a high priority for us.

The crock is all I use these days… Kept the house cool while I worked over the summer, and with 2 boys in college – coming and going – it’s nice to get home and have the meal made. I plan to use it five days a week, then leftovers and meal planning on weekends!

Craziness has started in my house with 4 kids ranging from 14 to 2. I have 3 bicycle racers practicing 3x a week. Water polo player practice everyday plus games, 3 in scouts…I’m the girl scout leader, one in dance 2x a week, plus a busy busy 2 year old running around. Im planning using crock 3 times a week. I’ve been known to use it twice a day when I do a breakfast.

I am a baseball umpire, and when I have a tournament to work (especially the weekend) the last thing I want to do is come home and cook dinner… especially after working on the ballfields for 10+ hours. My crockpot becomes my best friend. During the week, I teach pre-k, and I’m also involved in activities at church, and have a side photography business. I like to stay busy, but my crockpot makes dinners easy. I’m even teaching my college boys to use it – they like the idea of coming home from classes and having something yummy ready to eat!

Even with just a husband and a 20-month-old at home, we use our crock pot at least twice a week! With baby swim class, gymboree, and playgroup, it gives me that super important quality family time that I’ll miss when my baby goes off to school in a few years!

My oldest loves coming home to a cooking crock pot. When she rides bus that is….cross country, dance, homecoming and color guard. Wait forgot babysitting. My youngest daughter….field hockey, dance, Girl Scouts or helping with her cousins. That is their fall schedule-changes with seasons! Their favorite is my shredded chicken. Their daddy likes it too! Plan on using the crock pot 3x a week this school year. My 70 year old dad has asked me to teach him about the crock pot!

My kiddos are involved in brownies, cub scouts, boy scouts, karate, soccer, chess club, and church youth group. I work at the school and my husband works second shift, so on the 2 or 3 nights a week we crock for supper, I will get everything ready in the morning and he is fantastic about turning on the slow cooker for us (unfortunately mine doesn’t have a timer) before he heads to work so supper can be ready for the rest of us without being overcooked. Then he eats those leftovers for supper the next night.

We are enjoying a few more relaxing days before the fall schedule takes over! I am actually known as the “crockpot mom” because I bring along my crockpot and plug it in at kidschoir so we can eat healthy and skip the drive thru line on our way to youth.. It sure smells amazing by the end of rehearsal!

My teen daughters have really stepped up this summer and are helping plan meals and we LOVE Mondays so we can watch your newest video and plan our crocking! I would love to have this cookbook to help encourage them while they are interested and inspired to cook for our family!

Not sure if we are doing Soccer this year, so really church on Wednesdays and Sundays are the only time that I don’t have time to cook a big meal. I am a stay-at-home mom, who doesn’t like to cook and is always the one that is missing certain ingredients to make a complete meal. I don’t like to cook…probably because I think I’m not a good one! But I love that I can whip out my crockpot and get on your site, look up a recipe and find one that I have all the ingredients on hand for and don’t have to run to the store for one thing! I have enjoyed your site, videos, fb page etc….so much, that I ordered another slow cooker yesterday!! Can’t wait to get it…so I NEED this cookbook : )

Hi all!! We are a family of 3, my awesome hubby, me and our 7 yr. old little guy, Jacob! His schedule: He started soccer on Monday’s and Saturday’s and AWANA (Youth church program) will on Wedneday’s. My hubby has meetings at church 2 Monday evenings a month and worship team rehearsal on every 4th Thursday. I work part-time and help out Wednesday nights with AWANA. I make crock meals anywhere from 1-3 times a week. And we usually have leftovers which get served at supper or I take for lunch…Love my crockin’ meals, but need more recipes!!!
